7th October 2021 at 1:06 am #186224AnonymousYa, Kane situation might be gone. Of course, maybe Levy has been given something to think about and he might see sense. There are other PL options out there, some longer term, some short term. I think either could help City win the PL this season, as they are a very complete side besides a striker.
Ings is a player who I’ve always rated, even when he couldnt get a game at Liverpool. He’s gone, as you say but there’s still admittedly getting on Antonio at West Ham, Saint maximin or Wilson of newcastle. Depending on how things go, there’s even the likes of Jimenez or Toney (who Spurs are reportedly after as a replacement for Kane). I wouldn’t even rule out something big from abroad. PSG have a world class forward too many, Haaland’s clause is active 6 months after the next window…
But i think any of those home options do it, maybe besides Wilson, who seems to be quite injury prone. Antonio is 31 but he’s in the form of his life now and I’d honestly be afraid of seeing him with the City team around him. It might only be for 1-2 seasons but they’d be stellar seasons.
I still think it’s important to realise that with City getting a dedicated forward, they’d lose some of the control that Pep loves. Would it be enough to weaken them? No. I just think it’s important to remember that they arent buying a 12th player.

7th October 2021 at 9:23 am #186229Re Torres After his second he had to come off field with an injury…that is a concern. I like him as a player though

7th October 2021 at 9:30 am #186230Very true Mak, I would also add Augerro was not really a traditional striker. He was small, won few headers in box but he was incisive in the box. Roamed all over though to fit in with team but I never considered him as a traditional striker as we know but what a player. The pattern has been put down. With the current squad we have seven players capable of scoring 10goals each, some should score 15-20. Laporte, Dias and Stones should chip in as well. It is not happening at the moment but we should get better, well that is my hope I would have concluded the Kane saga much earlier and gone for the short term option

9th October 2021 at 7:00 pm #186315Utd v City ladies game very entertaining , thought we did well with 10 players for two thirds of the game. We are missing a lot of players, even the sub bench could not be filled but we need to start winning again

14th October 2021 at 8:11 am #186496I see Harry Kane is again this morning being strongly linked to City, City definitely need a prolific striker however his not a long term solution, not far from 30 already. Spurs will be the winners with all that money they bound to get, I’m just saying as my opinion?

14th October 2021 at 8:54 am #186498I thought City were braindead getting Grealish instead of Kane. Based on kanes form though, it looks like a bullet dodged. Some might say had he got his move he wouldn’t have lost form, but if he’s that wet City are better off without, and tbh so are England. If Kanes name was Paul Pogba, he would be dragged daily by pundits and fans. Somehow he seems to get nothing but sympathy.

14th October 2021 at 7:20 pm #186510Rover…well they are not going to get “all that money” again from City. At the going rate 30 million would be a big ask for me and Levy will not sanction that so he will let a good player rot.

15th October 2021 at 2:10 pm #186525Have to agree with Rover; I’ve never been happy with the Kane deal unless it was for a lot less money (Β£80M absolue max); at this age and with his injury record you cannot be paying top dollar for him. I was very pleased when City pulled out, and I’m sure Spurs fans were too; I’d like to see him stay at Spurs and remain a 1 club legend; I’m also sure that once he gets his focus back he’ll start banging in the goals as normal, it can’t have been easy for him over the summer. D1rtyH4rry, you need to remember that City never placed Grealish ahead of Kane, they were intent on buying both, but a reasonable fee couldn;t be reached with Spurs so they withdrew. I’m really hoping City have a chance of signing Haaland in January but I think we all suspect he’s as good as a Real Madrid player already.
P.S. Mak, good shout on Danny Ings. I was disapointed when we didn’t go for him as a short term solution early in the window – he’s a good player and I think would’ve suited us nicely._____________________________

15th October 2021 at 3:39 pm #186532I do not think it very wise of Sterling to suggest to City. “play me or sell me” attitude. Start scoring goals lad, that is why he out of the team. His work ethic is excellent but with his capabilities he should be producing more. City would take the money and re invest it elsewhere if that is what he really, really wants

15th October 2021 at 4:57 pm #186536Torres out till next year. I said it before. I am fed up with International injuries and can’t play due to Brazil games.
Liverpool must be cross. Utd lose Varane and on it goes. We missed Foden and KDB at the beginning of the season.
We pay a fortune to watch our teams, not for them to be injured for weeks_____________________________

15th October 2021 at 5:23 pm #186537These complaints are a waste of time I get the frustrations Chelsea are missing 4 players for the weekend too but internationals have been part of the game for as long as football has been around if you sign top players they will either be internationals or about to become internationals and all the top players want to play for their countries.
You can’t stop the qualifiers for the World Cup and the Euros, scheduling can be improved like the Brazil v Uruguay game in the early hours of this morning and the friendlies can be more limited but that’s about as far as you can go imo.

16th October 2021 at 4:57 pm #186613Below par performance but ground out a win, so cannot complain too much. Burnley put in a great effort though….they too need a striker, could have had 2/3 to day. Must play better on Tuesday.

19th October 2021 at 7:43 pm #186816Impressive performance from City to nigh, slowly getting back to there best. Both Full backs score and we have 16 different goal scorers to date for this season, I wonder if Kane is amongst them???

19th October 2021 at 8:28 pm #186825Kane would have had a few already Brian had he have joined City.
Lovely goal from Kane on Sunday confirming once again that form is temporary class is permanent.π
Good win for City though confirming why City are second favourites behind PSG for the CL.

23rd October 2021 at 7:46 pm #187053Happy for the win , performance and three points. Brighton made a game of it in the second half and we cannot be expected to keep that level of performance for 90 minute every game and we should expect teams will pressure us in the course of the game. Ederson was very foolish giving them a goal, he needs to start learning how not to do this, he has previous. I was more concerned with Cancello and Walker picking up yellow cards early but they kept disciplined. We are getting back to our best but not there yet.

27th October 2021 at 9:57 pm #187496Unlucky to night but we should not be missing penalties. The general play was good with all the changes. Our biggest problem is KDB has lost his way, I am sure he will find a way back but at the moment it is just not happening for him
