Re Rodri…he has been bought as a long term midfield anchor. Different in many ways to Fernandino but I think he will mature well, reads the game and passing improving every game. I would also like Fernandino to stay at least another year because he is capable and invaluable and respected as a team member . For my personal view our defensive record should get better with Stones, Dias, Laporte Cancello and Ake, the latter I would like to see at LB. He reads game well, useful at set pieces at both ends, difficult to beat, lacks a little pace against good wingers but I guess that applies to anyone we have, except for Walkers pace.

29th March 2021 at 8:19 pm #176915Big game for us on Saturday I hope all the players on International duties are fit and ready for it. Leicester going well and I believe it will be a good game for the neutral. Rodgers doing a good job. I hope Pep works his tactics out well for this because I think it will be a very open game of football for 90 minutes

29th March 2021 at 8:50 pm #176916Official: Aguero to leave at the end of the season.
Not really a surprise but will still be a sad day for the club. A true City (and PL legend), if only for THAT goal alone. But his stats stand out amongst all peers: 257 goals in 384 appearances (all comps).
Just hope us fans are allowed back in for the last game of the season to bid a fond farewell._____________________________

30th March 2021 at 8:54 am #176928It was always going to happen, sad, I loved watching him over the years, some magical moments from him. Whoever we get as a replacement will have to be good to get anywhere near his longevity and performance over the last decade. Good luck Sergio …but before you go a couple of hat tricks please!!!!

31st March 2021 at 4:03 pm #176952Well, the rumours have started…who replaces Augerro. My thoughts are
1. I am not sure about Haarland,if he would fit City style or if Pep would change something to accommodate him…whatever,,could be an expensive risk and I do not see P
ep doing that. for one player
2. Grealish, I understand but then there is a battle between him and Foden. Maybe they are thinking with KDB and Gundogan both in there 30’s at the start of the season and Fernandino likely to go or used as and when. He would fit in though3. Mpabbe. Lukaka I do not see in City Blue at all
4. Martinez , maybe
I am also hoping Jesus blossoms next season, he has worked very hard but need to find the goal on a weekly basis
It will be interesting to see what really happens

31st March 2021 at 4:05 pm #176953PS…not mentioned Kane because I do not think City will make an effort for him. Good player but not for City

3rd April 2021 at 7:25 pm #177047Excellent win at Leicester, clean sheet and good team performance
Dortmund next up, then Chelsea who I think will be well up for the next EPL game after to day. One game at a time, as the old saying goes._____________________________

4th April 2021 at 12:21 pm #177073Excellent team performance from us yesterday – no player less than 7/10. Mendy on the scoresheet and showing Mahrez (in first half) how to tuck one away, curling into the far corner, on his ‘wrong’ foot too.
Limiting Leicester, with their attacking prowess, to just a couple of half chances was no mean feat. Just shows how much our defence has improved this season with the acquisition of Diaz.
And (another) big shout for Fernandinho, who reads the game from HMF better than anyone I can remember in a City shirt. He just gets better with age – really should be offering him a contract renewal for at least another 12 months, maybe 24 – I’m sure he’d be happy with that, even playing a ‘bit part’ role.
Dortmund next and they will offer a similar threat to Leicester (style of play). We just need to be wary of that striker they have….can’t remember his name – he’s gone under the radar somewhat 😉_____________________________

4th April 2021 at 3:18 pm #177080GI Blue…Fernandinho has been a favourite of mine since day 1. he does read the game brilliantly, however, against leicester although his overall game was good he was caught in possesion a few times and that is a demanding role he is playing. i would give him another year because I still think he can contribute but Rodri is ready to take over that role now for the team, Another great servant for City and I am sure pep has a plan to replace the older players.

4th April 2021 at 3:32 pm #177082Yes Brian, he does get caught in possession on the odd occasion; however, I think that’s because he has no options (open players to pass to – very rare, I know) and tries to play his was out of a situation rather than ‘hoofing’ the ball upfield.
Still a fantastic reader of the game and can pass a ball with pace and accuracy as good as anyone in that position._____________________________

6th April 2021 at 9:56 pm #177164Sloppy performance to night but got there in the end. Plenty of mistakes all through the team but we just held together. We missed Augerro up front, missed too many chances to have been more comfortable but the sloppiness almost costs us.

9th April 2021 at 4:14 pm #177234Really happy KDB has signed a new contract, he is well settled in Manchester with his family and sees no reason to move anywhere else.
Moos, as for Sterling, as good as he is on his day he is loosing consistency, so pep will not give him automatic choice. I think we could do better, Sane was a better player but again lacked consistency.
The young lad in the academy is the one to watch for Palmer, I think that his name._____________________________

9th April 2021 at 4:58 pm #177241Brian, an almost rare case of being able to replace a key world class player with another, when De Bruyne effectively replaced David Silva. That’s been a big part of your continuity of success.

9th April 2021 at 9:39 pm #177250Mikus….a good way of looking at it although in my mind they are entirely different type of players, world class I agree. I actually think Gundogan is the nearest to Silva we have, hallways keeps the ball moving and mostly forward

10th April 2021 at 2:36 pm #177316Well done Leeds, they had a plan, we were careless and wasteful. Our back up team not good enough with so many changes, no doubt we will refocus for next week but we cannot have many more poor performances like this, somebody has to start shooting at goal other than defenders.
Game over, Dortmund next_____________________________

11th April 2021 at 3:06 pm #177359The players drafted in for the Leeds game need to learn something from the game, if not, they are no use to City. However, part of the situation was that there were too many changes to start with. I can accept changes but if the idea was to give maximum rest to as many as possible then it just did not work. Better to have made3/4 changes then used subs after 45 mins but at least have a midfield that can control the game, as in previous games. Game over, we move on and hopefully have learned something, Leeds certainly did and good luck to them. I think though that Pep will now have completed his list of leavers at the end of the season

14th April 2021 at 10:00 pm #177533Pleased with that performance, KDB, Foden and Dias outstanding but must admit, when Mahrez was to take the penalty I was full of gloom…he scored..he still does not give me confidence though. PSG next…after Chelsea aston villa and Tottenham !!!! Sterling missed his usual sitter at the end!!!

16th April 2021 at 7:54 am #177561I am very happy for Foden cause he had to work very hard to get the recognition he deserves, there’s so many famous players that were born with a silver spoon opportunities life.
