Nine, in my view they should put a hold on football, take a winters break and reduce the season now to save further fixture pile up, Scrap internationals as well. Until we get some measure of control on the virus things will get a lot worse before getting better so why make it worse?

3rd January 2021 at 7:24 pm #173235The 30 mins before HT and 25 after was the best we’ve played so far this season and on another day could have easily had another 2/3 goals. From 70 mins on we just managed the game out, without really looking like conceding.
Dias looks quality and, dare I say it, could be our next Vinny – all through the game he was talking and directing the defence.
Must say, Sterling had a very good game and I don’t think it’s any coincidence that he played on the right – back in our Centurion season, that’s where he played, with Sane wide left – Pep, keep him there.
Big shout also for Bernardo, who has looked back to something approaching his best these last coupe of games.
All in all, a very pleasing performance with everyone contributing. That now has to be the benchmark, going forward, starting at OT on Wednesday._____________________________

3rd January 2021 at 8:48 pm #173254Enjoyed that performance, since Chelsea did not do much wrong and thought they played well but City were just better. Gundogan gave a master class in midfield my MotM

3rd January 2021 at 8:57 pm #173260Yeah, he did Brian. To me he seemed to relish the CM role without KdB there and played with a lot more freedom, ie. less negative backwards and sideways passes. He also appeared to get forward a lot more, an archetypal ‘box to box’ performance.

3rd January 2021 at 9:08 pm #173264Giblues….I am sure Pep noticed this as well. The most underrated player in the league for what he does. It was no coincidence that after Chelsea were bossing us in the first 15 minutes he gradually took charge of knitting the team and getting them on the front foot. It help to have Sterling KDB Foden and Bernardo in support though

3rd January 2021 at 9:12 pm #173265PS,agree with you about Dias, he is a good technical cb and reads game well, he will develop more, I think the current pairing of Dias and Stones is working but in Laporte and Ake they will be pushing them, however, I prefer Ake as my first choice LB

4th January 2021 at 8:17 pm #173293My post to you guys after yesterday’s game seems to have gone missing.
Congrats guys.
I’m ashamed to say I found my self clapping some of your football.π
Get the missing players back especially Aguero and you’ll be right in the title mix at the end of the season imo.
Chelsea were beyond poor but you are the best team Chelsea have played this season and some of your football was a pure joy to watch.

6th January 2021 at 9:30 pm #173389Congrats on the Derby win lads. Not a great game again and I thought we were very much in it until the second goal. Deserved winners, though.

6th January 2021 at 9:46 pm #173396Another solid team performance, we are slpwly getting back to our best and our old ,man bossed midfield, a 34 yr old what a good player he is, will miss him next season.

6th January 2021 at 10:25 pm #173403Very polished from City tonight – that’s the type of performance that wins tight CL games. Defence and Fernandinho were outstanding, never gave United’s attack a clear sight of goal and we always looked dangerous going forward. 2-0 a fair reflection of the game.
How was Martial not booked for that pathetic dive to try and ‘win’ a penalty? Perhaps Klopp is right π._____________________________

7th January 2021 at 8:25 am #173405When city play like the 1st 20 mins of both halves and like sunday, they are in a different level
Defence looks solid now and I think they will win the league. Can see them being a good few points ahead come mid feb

8th January 2021 at 8:19 pm #173483For City fanS…Coin Bells death was very sad but I also think of all the players I have watched over the years who have now left us. Great players, great moments, football has given us this but we have to remember life is all short and never worth an argument on anything in life. I smile at the “new tactic” of using the keeper. Frank Swift was doing that 75 yrs ago. He could throw as far as many could kick a ball and accurately as well. It was a game plan in the 40’s, Swift collects the ball and throws the ball to our right winger, Maurice Dunkerley, standing on the half way line and Maine Rd was a big pitch. Real stalwarts of the game, all gone but then so have my 3 golfing friends who I miss just as much. Some great keeper around then. Sam Bartram. geo Tweedy, Ron Springett, Ted Ditchburn, Jack Kelsey, Wolves keeper of that era, cannot remember his name Tommy Banks. real tough guys…all gone but thanks for the memories, I do not forget them
