Not a Sterling fan myself but he scored again and works harder than Mahrez. We needed that win to day, no matter how we played, clean sheet as well. I hope this is a turning point for us. I do not understand what is happening to Laporte, although he is supposed to be injured. I know Stones is doing well at the moment and Dias appears to be a fixture but Laporte has a quality that is needed.

23rd December 2020 at 9:54 am #172710Rate Foden highly probably only 2nd to Grealish amongst young players. Pep must give him more game time. I may be wrong but City always seem to play better when his on.

23rd December 2020 at 4:37 pm #172721Blaze…what City have been lacking is a bit of energy, Foden gives us that but others should be picking up on it as well or they will be replaced. I do not want to get Foden burnt out either, think Pep is handling hime well

23rd December 2020 at 5:05 pm #172723Good points regarding Foden, Brian.
Good win last night, without ever really looking in trouble – Arsenal had a 10 minute spell just after they equalised but overall I thought we controlled the game and could have scored a couple more goals (but that’s just being greedy).
Energy levels look to be on the up with our pass and move game a lot quicker now. A shout for Bernardo, who’s looked much sharper the last couple of games – just hope he keeps it up._____________________________

26th December 2020 at 10:15 pm #172798Another step in right direction, another clean sheet as well. Awful conditions but all players derserve credit for putting in the effort.

27th December 2020 at 1:56 pm #172810I am being proved wrong about Stones and Cancello, at the beginning of the season I thought both of them would/should leave City, they have transformed themselves and both looking and performing well.Foden/Sane. different..Sanne just wanted back to Germany and he was struggling to get in the team as a starter. Foden is still developing getting better all the time and will eventually be a starter but I take the view with so many games to be played few can even contemplate starting every game. They will burn out, particularly the younger end. Carefully managed Foden and others will become future stars, they are playing in a squad of quality players and this will help

27th December 2020 at 1:59 pm #172811PS..I should add that Sterling played well, I usually become critical but yesterdays performance was all about better vision of what he was doing and did it well…no complaints from me

28th December 2020 at 2:43 pm #172881It will be interesting what team Pep puts out to night. maybe a game for more minutes for Augerro and Foden. Laporte needs a run as well but I would be reluctant to split Dias and Stones at the moment. Ake did well against Newcastle so would keep him in. I am not Pep though, so we will see

28th December 2020 at 3:08 pm #172882Once Aguero is fit and providing City can keep him fit City are good to go and I would then expect the title race realistically to be between Liverpool and City.

28th December 2020 at 4:37 pm #172889Hopefully everyone makes a full recovery.
Pretty sure the game at Chelsea, United in LC semi final and 3rd round of FA Cup, v Brum will also be called off.
The next potential game for us will be Brighton at home on 13/1/2021; that’s providing no further positive tests. Fixture nightmare._____________________________

28th December 2020 at 4:52 pm #172890“Everton’s home clash with Manchester City has been postponed following a COVID-19 outbreak in Pep Guardiola’s squad. The visitors confirmed on Christmas Day that Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus had tested positive for the virus and would therefore have 10 days of isolation. Now it appears there have been up to five more positive tests in the City camp heading into tonight’s clash with Everton.”
Cases escalating across the Country are we heading for another postponment of the PL very possibly.
