Nine…I believe it is more a change of personnel, in so far, that I think both City and Liverpool over the last few seasons have adopted a high intensity game, City are now starting to feel some affects of maintaining that level and i think the same thing is happening to Liverpool. I am sure both managers will work there way through it but it will not be a quick fix. I am confident that City will strike form, Pep is no fool, he knows when players are not up to standard and he will make the necessary changes. It is easy to say City should have bought this and that but we also do not know what circumstances prevailed at the time. I do know we bought some players who are not good enough for city. In saying this, injuries do take there toll and this stupid fixture congestion is down to greed of the football heirchachy, who know sweet all about football and players health

22nd November 2020 at 5:02 pm #170663Cityboy….good to see you are a loyal supporter then, I still believe in Pep will will be doing overtime with the players to get it right. Despite all the media talk there are more teams in it than City and Liverpool, without them, there would be none!!!! keep singingBlue moon

22nd November 2020 at 5:47 pm #170674cityboy-From an neutral view,City need replacing Kun more than they require Messi.A Kane or a Haaland to replace Aguero. And yes,Sterling brings very little to the game these days, imho. But I agree with 9s,Pep is the man to realise and impliment it.But what has happened to Silva? Completelygone it seems.

Not sure Brian I think the injuries we are seeing are down to trying to fit the season in to less months than is sensible as well as the late finish of last season and no pre season.
The way things are currently with the Corona virus all across Europe you have to question how sensible criss crossing Europe to play games is too. Cheers 9’s

23rd November 2020 at 12:18 pm #170769Maverick….Bernando has played a lot of games for club and country but the biggest problem is Pep uses him as his utility player and never gets to settle in one position. i think he is too good a player not to return to his real form

23rd November 2020 at 5:46 pm #1707979s-I love Craig,he says it the way he sees it,no corners-cutting with him.Very honest in his analysis.Same goes for Frank, too.I know Marcoti and Laurens sugarcoat things, but these 2 always honest.

23rd November 2020 at 7:58 pm #170813The perfect pundits again, everything in hindsight. City are working through a difficult period and have not found there shooting boots….it does not take a Professor to know that. The relevance of Pep not winning the CL with Bayern and City is just not creditable. He still has time to win it with City and do not forget there are 100 teams out there with the same ambition, only one can win it. I am still of the opinion it is not the “Holy grail” much prefer the PL and FA titles but that is just my opinion. City are not playing badly but they have lost the ability to press and shoot on sight . I am confident we will work our way through this. I fully expect Pep and City to come under constant review now but I do wish some of these “experts” stop taking a one match view and understand teams do drop off, have transitional changes and will loose matches. This is not unique to City alone. The game is over and we move on to the next, pep has the mentality to do that and he will get the team performing again

23rd November 2020 at 8:34 pm #170816Brian, it’s not just one game though buddie if you compare City’s results this season to last season and the number of goals they’ve scored over the 9 games v those teams currently in the top 3. It’s clearly not where City expected to be.
As I’ve said previously if a anyone can get it right it’s Pep with this team.
City are badly missing a fully fit and fully firing Aguero and they’ve lost both Sane and Silva from last season there are a number of big players off form and they need Fernandinho back too.
There will be no knee jerk reactions from Pep though and I’m looking forward to see how he handles it all

23rd November 2020 at 9:58 pm #1708193×9- good points, well made ( although Sane didn’t figure last season). If you look at the last three seasons, Aguero, Sterling and Jesus accounted for about half of all EPL goals scored. Now City (in effect) has no Aguero – we can’t assume a fully effective Aguero from now on – and there’s also the slight impediment of no David Silva. Quite a high barrier so PG obviously has to find a way how to get this group up for it. We may well be in for a relatively fallow spell until the manager finds a way, but that shouldn’t hold fears for long term City followers. The Club might have a highly celebrated coach for now, but giving away goals and missing chances has been part of the Club’s DNA for as long as I can remember!

24th November 2020 at 3:34 pm #170830Surrey Blue….yes , we have a tendency to give away cheap goals, however, look at the table, our against column is not as bad as some at the top end but we are just not scoring and that is the trouble. We always give away goals but our attack normally gets more….not at the moment. Augerro….is not the answer, we need somebody now, we may pay more, we may pay less but somebody needs to find the net on a regular basis, then I think the others will start scoring as well.
Nine, I never compare last season or the seasons before, the only thing that matters is the next match and start putting things right. We have some way to go but will get there
Some say, we are now playing catch up, apply the same logic and those above can start dropping points as well. I would be a rich man if I could predict top 2 at this stage, this is football, nothing is certain anymore and further complicated by VAR and rule changes that nobody, least of all the players and Refs understand…..A level playing field? I think not_____________________________

24th November 2020 at 4:34 pm #170832Brian, I’m sure you’re right and you will get there but only scoring 10 goals is a bit more than the one match v Spurs.
Aguero may not be the long term answer for City but him back in the team and injury free will considerably strengthen in the short term and I wouldn’t be suprised to see City move for someone like Mbappe in the Summer.
Basically City imo are suffering from injuries, losing key players like Silva and certain key players losing form.
Would City have been stronger offensively v Spurs with Aguero and Sterling in the front line imo they certainly would have been and stronger defensively with Fernandinho in the team too.
It’s the evolution of a great team and you couldn’t have anyone better than Pep to manage the process.

24th November 2020 at 8:10 pm #170840Nine…one thing for sure, as far as I am concerned is Mbappe woud be a better fit than Messi.Maybe not as many shirt sales but he is young, athletic and knows how to score goals, then, they may get both!!!!! My opinion on Messi has not changed, still do not think he will come to City….but what do i know!!!!! I thought City would have beaten Spurs!!!

25th November 2020 at 7:39 pm #170875Foden is class, should be one of the key players, Peps selections in general this year look suspect.

26th November 2020 at 9:33 pm #170927Pleased with the performance but would have a few more goals but almost impossible when the other team does not want to play. Good to see a little aggression coming back.Doubt Agurro will be ready but we do need him at the moment, even if he does not score you know defenders will have to watch him closely which should give others opportunities. We also have at lease 4 players who can score from outside the box, need to try it a bit more Blaze…not just Pep, all managers have same problem when to rotate players, sometimes there is no choice

28th November 2020 at 5:35 pm #171056Excellent performance lads there’s not too much wrong with this City team especially with a Coach as good as Pep at the helm.
Once everyone is up and running I’m sure at the end of the season they’ll be in the shake out for honours.
From a neutrals viewpoint it’s delightful to watch City when their in their pomp same can be said of Liverpool too.
