11th November 2020 at 7:57 pm #170111Brian, not so sure theyβre soft, but they are overly pampered to and have an over inflated sense of self worth. Football has become less of a passion for them and become just a job, fame, money and celebrity status is now far more important than the game and itβs become secondary. The more successful teams do play a lot of games nowadays, but squads are far bigger and should be able to cope, and I would suggest that even if they allowed 5 substitutes a game the core 11 would always start and many from the squad of 15 still wouldnβt play.
As for the womenβs game, it may be a little slower and less physical, but thereβs very little if any play acting and rolling round on the floor in agony, and if they do itβs because they genuinely are injured and tend to hold the part of the body that has been kicked. Unfortunately for me the daughters had to give up footy this season, the team she played for said she had to make a choice between footy or cricket, donβt think they were expecting her choice to be honest……Pagan

19th November 2020 at 1:47 pm #170390Great news (at least for us Blues), Pep signs a contract extension until 2023. Hopefully now he can rebuild the team around his signings from this Summer, two of which, Dias and Torres, have made good starts. Additionally, it should encourage KdB to sign a new deal.

19th November 2020 at 2:07 pm #170392Messi to come in the summer then? I wouldn’t bet against it although don’t think it would be in your best interest.

19th November 2020 at 2:23 pm #170393Very good news for City I suspect Pep will try to build the next City team now. Great news for the PL too. I can see a Pep/Messi renewal in the Summer.

19th November 2020 at 3:02 pm #170397I am please he has extended his stay, to be honest, at this moment I do not know if anyone else could do same job but I think there will be by the time he leaves…unless, of course, he signs another extension!!!!!! Why do i doubt the Manchester weather that drives people away????? I can think of worse places in this country
Yes, I think a rapid re build will take place, not sure about Messi. I would love to see him in a blue shirt but IF it does happen. I think it will be for selective games. I still think he will go back to Argentina though because that is what he wants to do._____________________________

19th November 2020 at 3:05 pm #170398Pagan…in days gone…nobody rolled about like they do now if somebody breathes on them. Players then would be humiliated if they tried such antics

19th November 2020 at 3:08 pm #170399Pagan…you are right about the ladies game, I hope it does not change as they become more successful. I watch City ladies, 100% effort for 90 minutes and they really do try. It is good to watch

19th November 2020 at 3:14 pm #170400Threeps, I’m somewhat ambivalent about Messi joining us (if it were to happen). On the one hand, his signing would provide greater global exposure for the club and I think he will still have something to offer on the pitch – although as Brian has mentioned, his game time would be selective.
On the other, City appear to have a great team ethic and camaraderie and the signing of a global superstar may upset that situation; I’m not saying it would and it would be up to Pep to manage accordingly, but there is always that chance.
Having said that, it would be great to see him in sky blue, even if it was just for one or two seasons._____________________________

19th November 2020 at 3:18 pm #170401Pleased to see Pep agreeing a new contract.
Wont the rag Liverpool Echo and pundits be disappointed eh!Seriously Im glad. Messi? I think quite possible. Whether that will be good remains to be seen IF it happens.

19th November 2020 at 4:15 pm #170406He’s grown on me in recent times and generally, he’s a gent and has a lot of respect for Klopp and Liverpool, so glad that Pep’s signed and it’s been good and healthy competition between the 2 clubs.
Pep’s 100 Points π

20th November 2020 at 11:47 am #170414giblues..IF…Messi did sign for us, I do not see it as in anyway disruptive to the team. I think all the City team would welcome playing with him and also knowing his game time will be selective and he will not play a full season but the bonus would be they can learn from a Master player. I am still not sure it will happen though, if it does, great, if not team building carries on for the next generation. The media can and will make up there own scenarios so I take no notice of what there opinions are, they are paid to create a story line not report reality

21st November 2020 at 7:22 pm #170538No complaints, if you do not score you are never going to win a game. Mourinho got his defensive plan to work and catch us on break….which they did. When will we ever learn. Mahrez disappointing, Bernado did not fill David Silva shoes to day but guess that was unlikely since he stuck on the left wing. We have lost the flowing football with an end result at the moment but I feel we will get it back

22nd November 2020 at 4:49 am #170591I donβt think any the other teams are too bothered about pep signing a new contract why would they ..at the moment we keep possession create next to no chances and score next to nothing ..
Look at the table….. that tells the story 12points from 8….minus 1 goal difference…
Peps walking it into the net way isnβt working and he hasnβt got a plan b..sterling sent on over aguero to help get a goal in 2nd half ….give me a break….cash in on him I say sooner rather than later…_____________________________

22nd November 2020 at 11:25 am #170623Cityboy…..keep the faith..it will come right. As for Sterling, that is not going to happen, but I agree with you…sell him now there will be buyers. Nowadays, because I listen to matches on the radio when they say. “the ball comes to Sterling”. my heart drops, have no confidence in him at all, I know he scores tap ins, although he misses them as well. I would prefer a more dynamic traditional striker

22nd November 2020 at 11:29 am #170624Big job for Pep over the next two and a half years getting City back to where they were but if anybody can do it he can.
It’s a combination of losing great players, injuries and loss of form but there still remains the nucleus of a great side.
