442…I never begrudge ant team winning anything, you only beat what is in front of you on the day, sometimes , you get lucky as well and othe times feel hard done by. but the result is all that matters

26th October 2020 at 7:37 pm #169167cityboy54…it is good to remember how far we dropped and how we have climbed back. City fans have experienced and endured that, that is what makes us special

27th October 2020 at 9:54 pm #169227Good win to night, more like City, great to see the youngsters do well. At last the pairing we needed Laporte/Diase. just get Ake at LB now

28th October 2020 at 4:09 pm #169252Nine…yes it was good but big test now against Sheff Utd who are still winless so will be well up for it and from what I have seen look a decent side having a bad run. City need to start winning though, we are a bit lightweight up front but need to keep momentum up

1st November 2020 at 10:41 am #169473Happy with the performance and win but we do need to start scoring and putting all the chances away. Augerro is still some weeks away and Jesus may be back in 2 weeks. The new lad looks very promising and should keep Mahrez on his toes. I do not know what has happened to Bernado, my star player, he is still working hard but something just not clicking this season. Too good a player for it to continue though, he will be back at the moment multi tasking for the team

1st November 2020 at 11:31 pm #169548“….multi tasking for the team”
Therein lies the problem with Bernardo, Brian – he’s being asked to play in too many different positions, week in, week out, and not allowed to settle in his best position, which imo is wide right.
The old saying is, he doesn’t know if he’s on his head or his arse._____________________________

2nd November 2020 at 2:49 pm #169568giBlue…you are right about Bernado, think pep is not useing well at all, he is not having bad games but we know he is below the level he normally operates. Do not see an answer at the moment, unlikely to drop Mahrez and the new lad wants that spot as well. I think he would do well in David Silva role if he is allowed to settle, he covers the pitch better than anyone and does move the ball forward, however, Gungdoghan and Foden already challenging. He does need a settled run in one position he does well, I would hate to loose him

2nd November 2020 at 8:28 pm #169588Cityboy…with the game overload we have it should be possible to put players in there best position…but I am no manager and willingly give the job to Pep!!! I do think 5 subs is sensible at this time though

3rd November 2020 at 10:13 pm #169637Happy for the win, clean sheet and at last some goals. The changes were under stable at the start but wish he had rested KDB earlier, good to see Jesus back and scoring, good cameo appearance

10th November 2020 at 8:38 pm #170052At last, we have the makings of a central defence, early day yet but impressed so far. Cancello is beginning to do well at LB but would still prefer Ake there. Now we have to sort out our strikers, my thoughts are practise, practise and more practise,we only have Augerro, when he is fit , as a natural goalscorer. I am all for breaking Delap in for short spells

11th November 2020 at 11:42 am #170068I guess we are all becoming frustrated, dejected or whatever and the current sttus of football. No spectators, increasing costs, rules that are hard to work out who invented them,”big picture” scenarios….whatever happened to the simple game. From my experience I can tell you it was more enjoyable years ago, maybe not as athletic as to day but never a shortage of skill. They talk about modern days keepers but there were keepers back in the late 40s that did the same and in many cases with more accuracy. full backs though not allowed anywhere near the halfway line of fans would be screaming at them to “get back you fool”. I laugh at the absurdity of it now but the thought of watching some great players on opposing teams attracted most fans to game…it was a simple life but enjoyable. Few argued with refs and sending offs rare. I hope to days game survives

11th November 2020 at 2:12 pm #170072Great post Brian
Iβve enjoyed the football . Took me ages to get used to it without fans but Iβd be lost without sport in this lockdown
Have to say I enjoy watching the following players from opposing teams
Grealish love the way he glides by players. Captain of a so called smaller club then the big 6 but really Steps up
Pulisic – much better then I thought. So fast abd direct with two great feet
This might surprise people but I like watching Marhez so skilful and I was glad he wasnβt playing Sunday
Kdb – beat crosser of a ball in the works along with Taa
Rashford – when on song, heβs a smashing player. Loved his goal v BRighton
Son – for all the obvious reasons
Antonio off West Ham. Beast of a player
James off Everton is good to watch. Is totally written him off
Vardy – pest of a forward to play againest but still going strong at 33.
Neto and podence off wolves – two exciting players
One player really missing from the game these days is a proper central midfielder play maker in the mould of Alonso , Godfrey, Wilkins, Scholes. Players who could dictate the game from the middle of the park. Now itβs all about being athletic and powerful in there

11th November 2020 at 3:25 pm #170083Sean…I would not argue with you selection of opposing players. I always like watching Mane rather than Salah from the Liverpool team and of course Van Dyck. Son, I have always liked watching for his work ethic. Vardy keeps the game simple and that is how I like forwards. maybe a few more but not many stand out for me like the past, There was an awe and expectancy about them even if they were playing your own team The keepers of old were very braveand strong characters the modern game would be a doddle for them, forwards could challenge them butvmore often they would come off worse with most of them. Too much theatricals nowadays and blatant time wasteing . In saying all this there is some beauty in the modern game, I even enjoy good defending
