The only upside, Surrey Blue, is when they loose, often they do not play badly but individual mistakes have a tendency to happen, we are architects of our own downfall then. I know, in these difficult times, games coming fast and frequent mistakes will happen but then again the level of mistake is magnified. Last night, we had loosing possession cheaply on the half way line and our keeper playing CB on walkabout…these are silly mistakes. As for Jesus, a good grafter but not a natural goalscorer, with Augerro out we do not have one. Sterling is not one in my opinion either but his contribution are very good. I would like to see a youngster given a chance in the few games left this season, however, we have not nailed down second place yet!!!!

6th July 2020 at 4:42 pm #126297The Spearhead is Aguero and he’s that difference the compliments the first team on the pitch. I remember him scoring last season at Burnley who at the time were difficult to break down. If anybody could unlock the Saints defence yesterday it’s Aguero.

6th July 2020 at 8:09 pm #126327Nil, as much as we miss Augerro that does not excuse Sterling, Jesus, Mahrez Silva and Bernardo missing a hatful of chances. I think Pep will look for somebody sharp up front but has to be mobile in Peps team

6th July 2020 at 8:11 pm #126328PS..I maybe sounding a bit churlish as well since we score more goals than anybody else so when we have a blank day, it is unusual

7th July 2020 at 2:16 pm #126351I remember the days of Edin Dzeko, Brian, Top Class. Maybe a Striker of his ilk that can find the back of the net.
That was complimentary in my eyes how it looked at one point like a Pinball Machine Pot with Mahrez, Sterling, De Bryne, Jesus, Silva, and Foden asking the question. That’s an array of Firepower that Southampton somehow kept out.
It made me think about our attack under Brendan Rodgers compared to our current where we had Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho, and a veteran Gerrard. Sterling and Coutinho were brilliant extra dimensions for us back in 2014.

7th July 2020 at 2:39 pm #126353Nil….Dzeko…loved the guy but he was frustrating, however with Mahrezand DeBruyne crossing the ball as they do he would have a bagful of goals…a bit too late now I am afraid. Outside Augerro nobody is going to get a golden boot award, that said the goals are well distrubted through the team, until Southampton!!!! On to Newcastle, expect the same again, all behind the ball

12th July 2020 at 10:54 am #127789Well satisfied with team performance, not sure why we need to look for a CB now since garcia is growing into the position game by game and we still have another waiting, no doubt we will go for another with experience, do not think Stones will make it again, pity but thats life.

15th July 2020 at 7:58 pm #129125Apart from two brilliant goals by City we did not play well to night, in fact Bournemouth were the better team and deserved at least a point. Not good enough performance going into Saturday game, I am sure Pep will have a few words to say.

15th July 2020 at 9:01 pm #129170KDB, Mahrez, Rodri Laporte and Sterling will be back, he may use Zinchenko as well. I will feel a lot better with them on the pitch instead of subs benchi

19th July 2020 at 10:28 am #131668I cannot defend any of the players performance, they were well off the pace. Pep will now know he needs to replace Mendy, who wasted so many opportunities to cross the ball I would have had Foden in for his energy, take him off he was not producing not the other way round Zinchenko a better choice at LB Mahrez quiet, Bernando needed to be on earlier again for his energy and skill. Why did they not pass to Sterling? He was isolated infers half. I am sure Pep knows why but it needs to be sorted. He was right before the match. Semi’s are a mental thing and ours was poor
