“No thanks to the “monsters”, Mikus. Give me the football we’ve been playing for the last two years, any day. ”
That’s the thing. Pep does play a very distinct and evolved style of football that requires technical brilliance. I see a lot of people saying it’s not for them but it was last season that Pep made a believer out of me and it was in a game against us. I think it was the first CL leg, which we won but I still felt that City were unlike anything else we’d played that season, or even ever. The way they play communicates a sense of inevitability that they will break you down. I think they have more graft in them than they are given credit for also.
The sentiments shared above, are also my own but of course with Klopp. I wouldn’t trade him for any other manager on the planet and that’s not an over-statement. He’s just the perfect culture fit. I think last season, we played this skirmishing brand of football that just drew you in as a football fan. We are definitely more relaxed in general now but we’ve still got that streak in us when required. Klopp has purposefully withheld it in order to keep the lads fresh, as they burnt out last season. credit to him for learning his lessons. Not everyone can adapt to the PL but Pep and Klopp have come here and dominated it.
As much as I might dislike the oil money that City are juiced on, you’ve got to take your hat off and admit that Pep is utilizing it well.

20th April 2019 at 9:40 am #38228AnonymousSean, my head says there’s a good chance that City absolutely stuff the **** out of Spurs but in no way is that any kind of certainty. I give Spurs some chance and even though it’s never good to take the media’s yoyo nonsense too seriously, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t ignore the possibility that City may buckle under the pressure.
I’m not counting on it, far from it.. but I absolutely will not rule out Spurs getting a result.
Don’t lose faith completely old chap. Season is far from decided.

20th April 2019 at 9:50 am #38230What you chaps need to look at is the source of the ‘ exodus’ story. A Spanish media source well known for making up rubbish. I have just asked somebody who lives in Spain about this and they say its all about Madrid anti Pep. Nothing to do with any players. Also the vast majority of their stories are apparently made up nonsense.
It comes from El Chiringuito…a bit like Talksport without any facts!I think its just a Klopp set up any how.
Question is though why do the Sun (another comic) put it out today? Its the old story. If there is no news lets create it.
Look at the coverage given to Jenas comments on OGS being the wrong person. One mildly educated individual who never did anything yet we should listen avidly

What source of an owners wealth is ligit?
Speculation in financial instruments

20th April 2019 at 10:10 am #38234Adlab – you’re right about the Press. There have also been stories over the last few days about Salah and Mane going to Spain, so it’s not just City. The Madrid and the Barcelona press will be in overdrive till the start of next season creating rumours. Barcelona are well known for it and with us playing them in a week or two, it will be incessant. I’d be astounded if any players left either City or Liverpool that the clubs did not want to let leave.

20th April 2019 at 11:18 am #38244Mak I live in hope. I just can’t see city dripping points especially now since out of cl.
I think both teams will win all their games
I’d stick 2k on city winning their both games if I was a betting man. I’m
That sure they will win both mate_____________________________

20th April 2019 at 11:32 am #38246AnonymousAdlab, I don’t keep mentioning oil money. It comes up from time to time but it’s not going to help things if you dispute something that is obviously true. You City lads are a bit tetchy since the loss. I can understand it to some extent, especially in the 24 hours since but it’s got to end.

20th April 2019 at 11:33 am #38247AnonymousSean, I’m not exactly dripping in confidence of us getting the title but I think the odds might just be in favour of City dropping points somewhere. My worry is more than we might also, I think. Everyone assumes Liverpool will win the rets of their games now and I’ve just seen these assumptions fall by the wayside time and time again. It’s the media. They hop from lap top lap and are somehow still believed, even though you’d work hard to find people who watch the sport who are as wrong as they are, so consistently.

20th April 2019 at 5:52 pm #38302AnonymousOz, I pretty much agreed with the sentiments at the time too, it’s just that Sean has been saying there is absolutely no doubt (or words to that effect) but the fact is that there is doubt and even though they won today, the players seemingly had such doubt themselves. media are calling it a nervy win. It could have gone other ways. It didn’t but it could have and that’s my only point.
