Well, funny how things turn out;
I viewed the Live Table on the Final Day of Last Season when Brighton took the lead at the Amex, and Liverpool were already a Goal Up against Wolves At Anfield.
Liverpool for 1 Minute were On Course up until the equalizer. Now have a look.
We’re much more of a ‘Box Office’, yet I myself worry. Leicester sniffing.
Sometimes I wonder if It was just a case of different teams challenging. It’s the same old same old to face and deal with.
Lets wait and see how our Game In Hand is played out. Bookies Apparently now are paying out.

27th December 2019 at 10:47 pm #57488Well itβs ours to lose now. Just need to be wary of complacency now, the only potential problem with such a big lead. Perhaps be wise to start blooding the squad like Shaqiri a bit more to maintain the competition and keep players on their feet and also allow others to rest. Minamino to look forward to, too.

28th December 2019 at 12:35 am #57491It was already over nobody has ever let slip a lead this big 13 points plus a game in hand.
I still think City will finish second comfortably ahead of Leicester.

28th December 2019 at 12:45 am #57492I’ve not seen the game but if Gazzaniga was a yellow v Chelsea on Sunday why was Ederson a red a few days later?

28th December 2019 at 7:36 am #57497Because its Atkinson and we dared to question the refereeing after the Liverpool game. City wrote to the EPL and referees asking about the decisions. Anything that can be done.
Not a conspiracy theory either.
You look at the media and they just about forget we played with 10 men the whole game. Even the Wolves manager admitted it changed the game.
Early cograts to Liverpool. And a plague on the biased referees. Atkinson, Oliver et al. You have done your duty. Somebody else can win the league. Thats suits the product?_____________________________

28th December 2019 at 8:06 am #57498Adlab, that’s nonsense mate anyone who wins the PL over 38 games deserves to win it and Liverpool will almost certainly win it with games to spare and will fully deserve to do so and they will win it because they’ve been frightengly consistent this season setting an amazing pace.
Having watched the highlights of the Wolves game now VAR worked in City’s favour last night awarding the penalty then the retake for encroachment and the rules required Ederson to be sent off for stopping a goal scoring chance.
You can carry on moaning about conspiracy theories etc which does you no favours tbh but the simple fact is that for various reasons City haven’t been good enough to compete with Liverpool this season and the fearsome pace they set.
I’m sure Pep will take stock in the summer and strengthen where possible and that together with the key injured players back City will be good to go again to compete for the title but this season the PL title belongs to Liverpool and deservedly so!

28th December 2019 at 10:09 am #57504cityboy, tough pill to swallow mate and at times City have played some scintillating football but for all sorts of reasons the consistency just wasn’t there this season.
City are still a great team and on their day the easiest on the eye of anyone but this season Liverpool have been so incredibly consistent even without the City hiccups.
I sense though we mwy well see a reaction from City next season.

28th December 2019 at 10:27 am #57505We haven’t won anything yet. As mentioned, we need to get a result versus Wolves, plus we have to face Sheff United. There’s no easy ride here.

28th December 2019 at 11:21 am #57506All Liverpool have to do now is to focus on winning their own games, nobody can stop them now.Last night game was strange,a fully deserved red card for Ederson,a diving by Mahrez pen that should have never been awarded, stupid reason to award the retake, and an amazing Wolverines comeback. What a beast that A.Traore is!
As for City,an cycle is completed and its over,Ferna,D.Silva,Aguero and most probably Pep,need replacing.B.Mendy-what a joke of a Β£52m player! City just doesnt have a defence,Laporte or not._____________________________

28th December 2019 at 12:07 pm #57507It’s fairly pointless discussing Liverpool’s probability of winning the league as it’s been apparent for quite a while now. As for City , I’m glad others are at last beginning to see that there’s more than getting injuries cleared up/making a couple of defensive signings before the Club can continue with ‘the project’. We’ll doubtless still see some good football from this squad during the rest of this season but it’s likely to end up as an also ran.

28th December 2019 at 12:08 pm #57508Just rewatched….. red card in my opinion….bad loss of possession under no pressure by sterling and mendy …all too common this season ..just canβt do that

28th December 2019 at 12:41 pm #57510I’m pretty sure there will be no knee jerk reactions at the Etihad to relinquishing the title.
Pep is definitely not done at City imo and he shouldn’t be judged just on this season he’s bought some truly wonderful football through his team to the PL and if Pep wants to stay past next season he’s clearly still got plenty to contribute to the PL going forwards if he decides to stay on.
I do though suspect that if Pep could have his time again he would have signed a top Centre Back in the Summer that decision is the one that’s probably impacted on City this season the most but it proves that even the very best of Managers aren’t infallible.
Silva has said he’s moving on but that opens up an opportunity for Foden , Aguero is easily good enough and easily capable of another season or two Fernandinho at least another season in his true position where his reading of the game is so good. Mendy is great going forwards but he’s not great defensively and it’s probably the defence that City have to prioritise in the Summer.
All great teams have to metamorphosis at some stage and City are no different. I sure they will still be one of the favourites for the PL title before the 2020/21 season kicks off.

28th December 2019 at 1:05 pm #57511Still stinging about yesterday.
Somebody tell me the difference between the fouls by the Spurs keeper and by Ederson? Either its two yellows or two reds. But Atkinson cant we wait to give a red. Him and Oliver want sacking. They are both hopeless and worse, inconsistenr. And one wonders why no English ref at the World Cup.
Today compounded by Ian Duncan Smith with a kinghthood. The secret of success. Make people in need struggle and tell lies. There its off my chest!_____________________________

28th December 2019 at 1:17 pm #57512Adlab ridiculous comments mate. No body is agreeing with you ffs. Itβs constant from you
Cities Injuries? Liverpool were missing Alison when Laporte was out? We are missing loads now. We spent No money in the summer.
What about peps tactics last night? He lost ciry the game
I apologise for rising to adlab a post but heβs constantly at it
We have won17 out of 18 games. We signed no one In the summer. We will absolutely fully deserved the league if we win it
Keita hitting top form now

28th December 2019 at 1:20 pm #57513Adlab, politics and football is not a good mix.
Here’s the explanation you seek though.
Players who commit a foul to deny a goalscoring opportunity will no longer automatically be sent off, football’s rule-making body has confirmed.
The previous ‘triple-punishment’ rule required a red card – and therefore a suspension – as well as the award of a penalty under those circumstances.
However, players committing accidental fouls that deny a goalscoring chance will now be cautioned instead.
But deliberate fouls will still incur a red card.
The rules over penalties and red cards were changed in 2016, with the previous ‘triple-punishment’ rule of a red card and a p0enalty relaxed.
Under the new rules players committing accidental fouls that deny a goalscoring chance were punished with a yellow card as well as the spot-kick.
Only deliberate fouls incur a red card and because Gazzaniga made a genuine attempt for the ball – he completely missed his flying kick – he was not dismissed. Whereas Ederson commited a deliberate foul hence the sending off.
All as clear as mud.?

Honestly Adlab sometimes you do yourself no favours just doff your cap in Liverpool’s direction mate they’ve been too hot to handle this season end of story!
