D/H, I don’t know if you or anyone else picked up on this, but though Naby Keita was absolute optimum in the level that we had this perception about him since signing him over a year ago. He was strong and fulfilled box-to-box.

He deserves a lot of credit for the way he’s stepped up, in Fabinho’s absence. We’ve had the right level in the depth of players to cover like for like positions whilst being able to deliver quality.

There are parallels to the 1989-1990 team, possibly 1987-88.

Just been catching up with this thread I spent Christmas in the UK of all places so not had time to post.

Henderson is not what people would associate with a world class player. He is not. But he is very important in a world class team.

People say liverpool need an elite playmaker but we already have one, he just happens to play right full back. Henderson and the rest of the midfield compliment TAA and Robertson perfectly.

So for me its about tactics and style of play. He wouldn’t be as effective in most teams but for Klopp and Liverpool he is perfect.
