Good to know we are only in the champions league final due to luck – Christ! I give up with this crap. Lucky draws and dodgy refs should go and collect their runners up medals rather than the Liverpool players.
Alfie is right, this site is no different or better to teamtalk.

7th May 2018 at 4:39 pm #21426Jesus mak, a crisis?
One win away from top 4 and in the cl final?
People call me negative ffs. Get a serous grip lads.
We have a week to prepare for Brighton. If we feck it up then a massive massive set back but itβs two huge games
We have rarely played badly all season. Nine is right. Injuries, cl semi finals etc have hampered us but we can out together a good performance for Sunday

7th May 2018 at 5:14 pm #21427We’ve just ran out of steam of late, and some players look jaded – look at Robertson for instance.
Plus, that layer of depth we’ve needed have succumbed to injuries, ala Can and Lallana.
Ings in spite of struggling for form and game time has been ok, but at best, he’s a squad and a Championship player. Solanke may have to be loaned out in the summer.
It just shows we can’t rely on the front 3 with our gung-ho approach.
Chris Hughton will bring a Bus this Sunday, but we’ll have enough to find the back of the net and rustle 3 points.
As far as the final goes, Lallana and Can should definitely be fit for selection – need to get this last game done and dusted and then we can relax a little bit and set our preparations underway.

7th May 2018 at 5:26 pm #21428Beni, I didn’t say Liverpool were lucky I said the draws had been kind to them and bar City they have and that Liverpool got the breaks in both legs of the City tie and they did.
Nothing wrong with any of that every team can do with a bit of good fortune in the knock out competitions.
I also said “I still think Liverpool have a great chance of winning the CL Final”.
I say it as I see it mate and there have been plenty in he media that have said similar if that offends your sensitivities that wasn’t my intention.
To summarise:
A) I think Liverpool will claim a top 4 spot next Sunday.
And B) I think Liverpool still have a great chance of winning the CL! IIndeed way back to the last 16 draw I’m on record as saying I think Liverpool’s name is on the CL trophy this season!!!!! As Sean will confirm!

7th May 2018 at 5:54 pm #21432We beat the best team in the comp in city. We beat Roma who beat Barcelona and Chelsea along the way
Roma were a very good side until we trashed them in the 1st then all of a sudden they are a poor side
We have scored the most ever goals in the competition. Every team needs luck and we have had some.
We fully deserve to be in the final.
Nine you said our name was in the Europa in 2016 aswell. You were so sure and look how that ended lol
Madrid are clear favorites but we need to beat Brighton 1st to go there with confidence
Feck up 4tj and we will lose the final. Get 4th and we have a massive chance

7th May 2018 at 6:11 pm #21433How can we have a lucky journey on our way to the final?
People were writing us off on round 2 lol.
Goldstein will have a field day if we lose, and then moan if we do win it rather than praise us on merit.

7th May 2018 at 7:32 pm #21435Liverpool are in the final. Yes they have had some ify decisions but it happens all the time to all teams. The standards of officials home and abroad is just about the worst it has ever been. Pool fans will have to hope they havent used up all the good fortune. But life and football is like that. If we all knew what was going to happen we wouldnt be on here! Its just everything crossed!

7th May 2018 at 7:52 pm #21436Sean, absolutely mate Liverpool deserve to be in the Final 100% agree with that and I think Liverpool hwve got every chance of beating Real Madrid in the Final providing they bring their best offensive game to the Final and the defence inc Karius doesn’t make any silly mistakes.
You’re right I did predict Liverpool would win the EL in 2016 and they were one nil up at ht and should have. But I’ve been predicting a Liverpool CL win since the Round of 16 Draw and I’m sticking with that.? Cheers 999

7th May 2018 at 8:15 pm #21437Anyway I’m very upset that Beni claimed Liverpool made Chelsea look better than they are. Very demeaning towards Chelsea. Alfie and Beni are right this site is no better or different to Teamtalk. Joke! ?
Seriously we are never all going to see things the same Liverpool fans see things through Liverpool eyes, Chelsea fans see things through Chelsea eyes etc etc etc but let’s not knock the great site that the Editor has worked so hard in building and claim it is no better than Teamtalk because it clearly is better based on the personal commitment and regular involvement of the Editor. Peace and love. Cheers All 999

8th May 2018 at 1:25 am #21443AnonymousSean, I do think that missing out on CL football, especially after the position we were in a month ago, would be a crisis. I am not being negative as I still think that we have a far better chance of making it than Chelsea, even now. They have 2 games to win, we have 1, at home.
In the scenario where we miss out on CL football, we potentially lose all momentum. Of course we would have the option of saying “right, we have got to focus everything on the PL. try and go all out to win in”. That’s there but we would have to improve our squad at the same rate that we’ve improved over the last few windows and that’s not easy when you take 2 steps back.
You’ve seen the effect of playing important PL matches recently. The players find it hard to be 100% motivated, as it’s a step down in terms of excitement.
I think it’s more likely that we’ll get top 4 and also win the Champions League though than to lose both.

8th May 2018 at 1:36 am #21444AnonymousYa, let’s not get so upset about non-Liverpool fans mentioning the luck we had. We had some decisions go our way and some that didn’t. overall, we’re definitely in the positive there but real have been extremely lucky and they are the defending Champions. Luck is only good if you are able to take advantage of it. true, we’re heading into only 90 minutes now where every mistake the ref makes will be amplified but let’s at least hope they have the top rated refs.
Ya though, our route to the final hasn’t been entirely peachy. I don’t think any of the other teams would have beaten City. I just rate them that highly. They are still the best team in the world in my mind. You couldn’t complain if the final were Man City V Bayern but it wasn’t to be, this season.
As for Chelsea, I don’t know. I think they’ve finally found their mojo. It’s true that we should have played a lot better but when they attacked, it was with purpose. They have smelled blood for a few weeks now and have gone up a gear while we’ve gone down them.

8th May 2018 at 7:27 am #21445Mak, I meant to mention in my previous posts that Real have enjoyed some good fortune on their way to the Final too especially against Bayern across both legs of the Semi Final tie as well as in the 2nd leg of the tie v Juve. It’s not unusual for the team who wins the CL to have enjoyed a bit of good fortune along the way Chelsea did in 2012. In fact the more good fortune you get is a very positive sign imo. Cheers 999

8th May 2018 at 8:02 am #21446I agree mak but at the minute itβs nit a crisis.
If we donβt get cl football then it is. Itβs a huge set back
In the cl we have had luck but not in the league. Two definite pens v wba and stoke.

8th May 2018 at 8:31 am #21447AnonymousYa, I don’t know what wording I used but I meant in the scenario where we don’t get the CL for next season. The problem we have outside of it is that opposition teams can sense it. Remember how bad things used to be when every shite team knew that they had a chance? They would start coming at us and you would just know there were goals, or at least huge anxiety filled spells coming.
Now, you could argue that it wouldn’t affect Real in the least as they’ll already be supremely confident anyway. Maybe it’ll lead them into a false sense of security.

8th May 2018 at 8:45 am #21448Massive over reaction lads albeit understandable the Liverpool squad is thin and hampered by injuries and getting yourself up to play these massive CL games take something out of the players and League form suffers it’s not unusual.
Part of Klopp’s current problem is that he’s been unable to successfully rotate and the Liverpool bench was a sign of where the club are squad and injury wise currently.
Next Sunday though will be a different ball game the players will be well rested albeit the same 10/11 will have to play and they will know that the game at Anfield v Brighton is a must win game for Liverpool assuming Chelsea beat Huddersfield on Wednesday night and given all those circumstances I think Liverpool will be far too strong for Brighton.
Looking forwards the return of Can and Lalana to the CL squad ahesd of the Final will be very helpful although it’s doubtful either one will be sufficiently match fit to be a starter and the team to face Real will very likely be the team that took on Chelsea with TTA returning to right back and Henderson to midfield hopefully no new injury worries emerge between now and the Final and with CL qualification confirmed you can all try and enjoy the game against Real.

8th May 2018 at 9:48 am #21450Over reaction my a*** nine, a capitulation is always just around the corner with LFC. It happens time & time again, I honestly expect it. Even when we were flying a couple of weeks ago I was still being told I was just negative because I refused to get caught up in the hype about how good we were going. As improbable as it seemed at the time we failed to take advantage of playing 2 bottom placed teams & another not far above them & we are now a real danger of disaster. The more people say things like you are ie the players know whats at stake, playing at Anfield will guarantee a win etc etc the more uneasy I feel about it. I hope we get the win & can enjoy the build up to the final but they will make it very hard for us & the longer the game goes without a breakthrough the higher the tension will be & more nervous the crowd & players will be. I’ll be bloody well glad when it’s over, this should have been sew up a couple of weeks ago, put to bed like c$ty put the title to bed.

8th May 2018 at 10:12 am #21451Oz, love that saying. We’ve all thrown points away mate Chelsea have thrown points away v Burnley, Watford, Bournemouth and West Ham. Of course I hope Chelsea beat Huddersfield and Newcastle and that Spurs or Liverpool slip up but hand on heart mate I can’t see it happening and I honestly believe Liverpool will be too strong for Brighton next week.
Of course the ideal scenario is Chelsea win their two PL games Liverpool slip up v Brighton and then go on and win the CL everyone’s happy! Cheers 999
