As most Chelsea fans agree the transfer ban is good for the club so now we can rather use our outstanding youth players most who can do a better than the current first team mob. However knowing Chelsea they will find ways to get around it.

22nd February 2019 at 6:25 pm #33981A balance between buying in the Summer whilst on appeal and using the youth is the best way forward imo. It certainly won’t cripple us as some would like.?

22nd February 2019 at 6:32 pm #33982Probably a similar thing will happen with what happened to Barcelona – defer the ban and that will allow them to βstock upβ so they can prepare for the ban.

22nd February 2019 at 6:57 pm #3398427-Can Chelsea recall the likes of Morata,Moses,Michy? Can you keep the likes of Kovacic & Higuain? Same for the likes of T.Hazard,K.Zouma,etc?

22nd February 2019 at 8:01 pm #33992Mav, Chelsea can recall all the season long loan players but probably not Morata as that deal was for 18 months.
T.Hazard isn’t on loan Chelsea only have an option to buy. Kovacic would have to go back maybe not Higuain depending on the wording of the deal.
I suspect though we will have the Summer window before any ban kicks in if it is upheld on appeal and Chelsea will front load on transfers in the Summer.

23rd February 2019 at 10:52 am #34023AnonymousChelsea will appeal and will be allowed to register players until the appeal is heard. Itβs unlikely they will win the appeal, as these cases are often open and shut cases, however they will likely appeal to CAS and they may well reduce the punishment to one window (timed no doubt to be january) or just impose a fine instead.
Apparently City are accused of making illegal payments or incentives to Sancho when they signed him from Watford. And also his agent (which he was not allowed to have at that age).
No doubt many other PL clubs have done the same.

23rd February 2019 at 11:31 am #34024Alfie. As I said once before this will open Pandora’s box. You are dead right. I suspect many PL clubs and others have given incentives to parents over the years. I remember one instance, as I knew the chap, of an amateur from Stockport playing for Utd but being given substantial “expenses” to circumvent what were then the rules. I wont mention his name but he was a forward who played many times for Utd first team, over 70 times.
I am aware too of others.
The claim is that City employed the agent as a scout! Who knows but I suspect Chelsea and City will suggest others?_____________________________

23rd February 2019 at 5:31 pm #34063AnonymousAd, I believe you can offer parents money but not financial incentives to players. The Sancho one is two folded. They paid his agent (which he wasnβt allowed to have) and because he wasnβt allowed one they made out the payment was for scouting. I guess they could be asked to prove he did the work? The second fold is because they told him he would sign a deal for x amount when he turned 16. Even City legal eagles thought that was against the rules and said so to the club.
As for paying players parents – been going on donkeys years. The number of ground staff onchbs books who are parents of players and donβt turn up for work would be unbelievable.
All clubs do it, I guess this one (and the Chelsea one) stand out for whatever reason. Or maybe they are just the wrong side of the line?

15th March 2019 at 6:39 pm #35875AnonymousWhat have you heard about Liverpool though? I’d be surprised if we had a ban coming but you can never know I guess.
Very disappointing if true and honestly, this would probably lead to Klopp leaving.

15th March 2019 at 6:44 pm #35876AnonymousI see absolutely nothing about Liverpool and a ban out there. A lot about City, so I’m gonna assume for now that it’s not true.

15th March 2019 at 8:43 pm #35889This is about Chelsea being banned re Transfers, so Chelsea are banned.
No other club comes into it in this discussion, because nothing has been factual.

15th March 2019 at 8:50 pm #35890Why be bitter and drag other clubs into it for no reason purely out of spite.
Liverpool is a decent properly rub Club. This certainly in this thread of discussion isn’t about them, so they shouldn’t be brought into it.
