23rd November 2020 at 2:25 pm #170780The return of Billy “Iniesta” Gilmour seems to be getting closer.😊
“Frank Lampard was given a reminder of Billy Gilmour’s talent and potential as the midfielder scored a brilliant goal to help Chelsea’s development side come from two down to draw 2-2 with Manchester City on Sunday.”
I can see Billy featuring from the bench shortly it was a nasty injury though so no point in rushing him back too soon.

23rd November 2020 at 3:20 pm #1707819, to be fair Billy Gilmour has restricted his own playing time on his road to recovery, getting sent off after 8 minutes playing for Scotland didn’t help…..Pagan

23rd November 2020 at 4:58 pm #170789It happens Pagan young lads are impetuous, importantly though Billy is getting meaningful game time now at Chelsea and is beginning to shine again.
“He’s fit again he played Wednesday night and got good minutes and played well. I heard he played very and we were very happy with him and he will play again at the weekend for the under 23s.
“He’s fit, but he’s not match fit. That will be a short period, he’s a generally fit boy.” Frank Lampard
Good news!😊

23rd November 2020 at 5:21 pm #170794Rennes away 24/11. Live on BT Sport 3 ko 17:55.
The score in the home game v Rennes I think flattered us Rennes are a decent team and Frank knows that.
On that basis and based on what Frank said in his press conference any changes will be due to players carrying slight injuries or overplaying both domestically and internationally based on what Frank said seemingly there will be just a few changes and I suspect Frank will try and keep that to the minimum bearing in mind the opposition.

24th November 2020 at 4:40 am #170823Anonymousits a disgrace that my club forces players who can clearly be starters in other top clubs to stay on and rot not even on the bench, you don’t need 5 centre halves, 6 fullbacks, 6 central midfielders, etc, it’s very selfish of Lampard or whoever is responsible not only are you creating a tide of frustration and unhappiness its costing the club unnecessary huge amounts of cash.

24th November 2020 at 2:01 pm #170825AnonymousGiven the number of injuries moos, id say its prudent to have a squad of 25… Indeed its what every club in the Premier League have isnt it? Plus, its a two way street, yes, players get upset at sitting on the bench, but, theyre paid a shed load of gold per week to do a job they love, so Im not going to loose any sleep over a benched player or one who wants away. dont really see whats unfair about the the way the clubs operates.

24th November 2020 at 2:13 pm #170826Spot on 442 every Club works with a squad of 25 in addition let’s not forget Tomori pulled out of a 12 month move to West Ham at the last minute, that the Club were happy to sell either Alonso of Emerson but the Serie A Clubs interested in them couldn’t find the funds due to the pandemic and that Chelsea would gladly let both Rahman and Drinkwater leave they’re not in the 25 man squad but nobody are currently prepared to take them.

24th November 2020 at 2:34 pm #1708289, if you check on the Premier league site it tells you which players are registered, not 100% but you can have more than 25 but they have to be under a certain age and fulfil homegrown criteria……Pagan

27th November 2020 at 2:09 pm #170935Tough game on Sunday they always are v Spurs.🤞
I think there will be three changes to the team from the midweek CL game v Rennes. James for Azpi and Ziyech for Hudson Odoi plus Kante back too?
We should have a very strong bench too with probably Pulasic joining Harvertz and Hudson Odoi?

1st December 2020 at 5:01 pm #171335“Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui has hailed Chelsea as the Premier League’s best attacking team ahead of Wednesday’s meeting between the sides in Spain.
Lopetegui claimed before his team’s Group E opener at Stamford Bridge in October that Frank Lampard’s Blues were among the favourites for the Champions League title, and he has not changed his mind.
Both sides have already secured qualification for the knockout stage and head into the encounter battling to top the pool. And Lopetegui is excited by a stern examination of his team’s credentials.
“It’s a huge and exciting challenge against a team who could win the Champions League,” the former Spain coach said.
“They are the best attacking team in England at the moment, they have great players.
“It’s a real excitement to play against them and it motivates us to play our best.”
Nice compliments or a bit of mind games?😊

1st December 2020 at 8:29 pm #171348AnonymousDoesn’t mean anything cause the new brexit rules means more stupid rule changes for players in Europe. We on the road to self imposed isolation.

8th December 2020 at 2:38 pm #171727Kind words on Chelsea from Rio.
“What can I say… Chelsea are on absolute fire, they are flying. Frank Lampard has got his team confident, they go a down goal, it’s no problem, they are confident,’ Ferdinand said on Rio Ferdinand presents FIVE.
‘And who is at the base of that? The foundation of that, for me, would have to be the man Thiago Silva.
Thiago Silva has impressed at Chelsea since his move from Paris Saint-Germain
‘He’s come in, the experience [he’s got], played in big games all around the world.
‘I think they go a goal down or things ain’t ticking for them but he sits there at the back, everyone looks to him for inspiration.”
And we haven’t even seen the best of Werner, we haven’t even seen the best of Havertz yet [or] Ziyech. Pulisic has just come back, he looked amazing when he come on. ‘Listen, Chelsea I think are in it for the long run, they’re going to be there at the end.” The Metro.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reckons Chelsea are favourites to win the Premier League.
Klopp led the Reds to their first title in 30 years last season and are in with the early pack of pacesetters this time despite suffering a catalogue of injuries.
But he says, “If I watch football games at the moment then Chelsea, for me, look like favourites.
“They have the biggest squad, great players playing well together after a rusty start – and they are full on.
“They have unbelievable opportunities to change in games and make changes from one game to the other – so that is it.
“I don’t feel we are chasing anyone at the moment – or that anyone is chasing us.
“Pressure is there for us but it’s about how much you think about that pressure, to be honest.”
If Chelsea sign Haaland in January Klopp might have a point.😊

10th December 2020 at 8:35 am #171801Everton away no Ziyech and CHO “They had scans yesterday and they’re showing it will be about two weeks so I think that’s positive, particularly with Hakim,” said Lampard.
The team pretty much picks itself with the big decision seemingly for Frank being Harvertz or Kovacic with Gilmour on the bench. I can see Gilmour getting some starts over this busy Christmas period.

12th December 2020 at 10:23 am #171863AnonymousCallum Hudson odoi continuing to be linked with Bayern. I’d be delighted if we sold him for 70 million. Hasn’t yet done anything to impress in the shirt. Bye bye odoi…
