Did they buy their way to the top ?
Yes
We’re they pivotal in ffp so no one else could?
Yes
Have they been incredibly well run since and in a way that puts both our clubs to shame?
Yes
Would we love it if our tight arse billionaire owners would do the sane if they could?
Yes
Are we jealous?
Yes
It’s all part of the rich tapestry that is football!
Sometimes you just have to swallow your knob mate ?
Besides makes it sweeter when we do beat these clubs!999 to late for that!!! How very dare you conveniently forget the best club in London by a country mile ??

He didn’t mention Geroge Mitchall’w 3rd Year A-team once, what you talking about?? 🙂
But you’re right about everything else, just don’t understand the concept about how they get “credit” for playing by the rules now… bit like giving credit for Hamilton winning a race because he turned his turbo off for the last 20 laps after having it on for the first 60 laps and building a 5 lap lead.
Anyway, I’m off to watch Highlander, there can only be one!!

22nd August 2020 at 3:03 pm #158733Re Harvertz after Ruddi Voller’s latest comments I think Chelsea have to put their best offer on the table for Harvertz and if it’s not considered good enough be prepared to walk away and look elsewhere.
Leverkusen will be left with an unhappy player and next Summer will end up getting half of what Chelsea have already offered .

22nd August 2020 at 3:19 pm #158749Chucky, let’s try and have some decent discussions about footy instead of these incessant embittered trollings you get up to whenever anything positive pops up re Chelsea it really is getting very boring now and I’m sure not just for me.

22nd August 2020 at 3:34 pm #158762Not so sure nine. My point was if frank finishes 10th, he will be sacked. If klopp finished 10th, he wouldn’t be sacked. Just my thoughts.
Chelsea have a history of sacking managers even when they have done ok and I really don’t think it matters if it’s frank or not
Maybe I’m wrong mate. Just going by the recent past
Liverpool did it with Kenny which I thought was harsh but we were terrible in the league and finished 8th
I think klopp will be given a free ride for at least 15 months if things go belly up. Rodgers was given the same
I think frank is building a very good squad and maybe my comments are uncalled for as it’s a bit yo negative when things are quite positive at Chelsea at the minute so apologies guys

22nd August 2020 at 3:51 pm #158775AnonymousYes, when you invest in something, at least you expect to have some returns. so Frank is not different from others. but I think Chelsea need to give Frank every opportunity to succeed.

22nd August 2020 at 3:58 pm #158780Ye Young blue, maybe frank might be different
As mine says, frank will retain his legendary status no matter what happens.
He took a hit from some Chelsea fans when he left for city but that’s all forgotten
Don’t think that was his fault in anyway
I like frank. Had to really work hard to become the world class footballer he became
Best of luck to him

22nd August 2020 at 5:07 pm #158834Sean, there was an understandable disappointment when Frank joined City but to demonstrate what I said about the match going fans he was quickly forgiven even when he scored against Chelsea at the Etihad. “The former England international refused to celebrate his goal and looked to be on the verge of tears at the final whistle as he received a standing ovation from Chelsea’s fans, who set aside their disappointment to acclaim the player who served them so wonderfully.” BBC Football.
Frank has had a wonderful first season despite all of the circumstances and him being a rookie Manager achieving 4th place and getting to the FA Cup Final eliminating both Liverpool and United along the way despite him not being able to buy anyone and having to utilise the Academy players and the players out on loan both positive imo.
Realistically I think it’s very unlikely that either Liverpool or Chelsea will finish 10th and there does seem to be a bit of a rush from opposition fans and I suspect soon the media to put pressure on Frank if he manages to strengthen the squad by buying a few players.
I remember reading similar comments re Frank at the start of last season. I agree with with young blue “I think Chelsea need to give Frank every opportunity to succeed.” And I think that’s what Frank will get.
What’s currently happening at Chelsea is very exciting and Frank is building a very exciting team but the operative word is building and it would be wrong to expect too much too soon.
Clearly the Board are happy with the way things are going and feel the same way as Bruce Buck said “In the end we think it was a very successful season.
“I think obviously we would have been a little bit happier if we had won the FA Cup.
But I’m sure the manager and the players were gutted not to lift the trophy.”
And Buck continued by saying Lampard is the right man for the job – and his leadership means it’s an “exciting time for Chelsea”.
He added: “Frank Lampard is a very positive force for Chelsea.
“He’s Chelsea through and through and that continues to show.
“He carries a lot of credibility.
“It’s an exciting time for Chelsea.”
That’s the way the majority of Chelsea fans see it too Sean but that doesn’t mean Frank is immune from criticism although I think he would be allowed at least one poor season which currently seems unlikely. Hopefully.?

22nd August 2020 at 5:22 pm #158845“Chelsea have reached a ‘significant breakthrough’ in deals for Kai Havertz and Jose Gimenez, according to reports. Frank Lampard has already enjoyed a good start to the transfer window, recruiting both Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. And they’re now hopeful of bringing two more players to Stamford Bridge.” ???

I have to say, the image of Frank has been more than useful to the club. he appeals to players due to his pedigree as a footballer. and that is proving another blessing for the club. all of those players that we are linked are keen to play for Lampard. it’s an unprecedented and stark contrast to Sarri who 18 months ago said he doesn’t even know Pulisic. and we also have the iron lady and big Petr also.

22nd August 2020 at 11:55 pm #159102Hmmmmm major decision here. Who would I rather have as the owner of my football club – Roman Abramovich or Daniel (deep pockets) Levy? Even from nailed on Tottenham fans I think I know the answer. The jealousy on here astounds me.

23rd August 2020 at 8:30 am #159389Funny thing is I’ve absolutely no problem with Chelsea and cities owned and the money etc
Both clubs have had massive downs over the years with both in the lower tiers but both still attracted big crowds and had great support Before they came into big money

23rd August 2020 at 9:28 am #159426Very true Sean and without the influx of money, wherever it comes from, football would be as dead and boring as some of the Europeam leagues, old Div 1 and one horse races. Money has always contolled the game from way back, I remember Sunderland in the late 40’s being the “money bag” team and Newcastle then we had periods of different teams. Also fail to see the importance of the EC, there are thousands of games, yet everything appears to be linked to success in this competition which is almost out on its feet…..it is supposed to be Champions league but it is anything but that, eventually they will revert to a competion with just that and a true Champions league to follow. This will all take money, UEFA, FiFA cannot afford it so outside investors will always be available….at a price. UEFA and Fifa will loose effective control of the game…for money….so they just function as fixture arrangers….and they do not do a good job of that either. Chelsea and City investors are here to stay and there will be more, plus, to there credit they are not short term or speculative investors. My only wish is for more support for lower league clubs but not at the expense of bad management like we see in many cases
