22nd August 2020 at 10:16 am #158511Stevo, I don’t think anybidy will put more pressure on Frank than he will put on himself he’s already said that 4th place won’t be an achievement next season.
Hopefully Chelsea fans show a bit of patience and don’t expect too much too soo. it took Klopp almost 4 years to challenge for the PL title and he was an experienced Manager not coming into his third season as a Manager one of which was in the Championship.
If Chelsea strengthen in the areas that need strengthening as I said I will be disappointed if they don’t finish third and close the gap on Liverpool and City and I suspect that’s the way Frank sees it too.
I think it is unrealistic to expect a real title challenge just yet though most of the majority of the new players are coming to a new country, a new league and a new team and it will take them a little bit of time to both gel and settle.
I would be delighted if we signed Giminez from AM as the CB but who knows. Exciting times at Chelsea though.

22nd August 2020 at 10:22 am #158515Chucky, all 3 were bought after FFP out of Club generated funds.
You are beginning to sound a little bitter and twisted Chuckster.
Is Highlander Spurs missing link he would make a very good midfield destroyer. 🙂

22nd August 2020 at 10:28 am #158522Love highlander!!
Top buy Nancy999 not everyone (especially many other Chelsea fans) are as nice as you matey so I’d expect much more pressure especially after so many (very good signings)
Not suggesting you should win this year but be there or thereabouts!
And a trophy of sone kind!
As for klopp
He wasn’t able to buy 5 or 6 (May end up more) very expensive players in his first window with the club as well as having to change a mentality that had suffered for 30 years
Apples and pairs for me!
But you’re right to be excited and however many you buy and however they are funded no one can say you lot don’t do business the right way
Early buys and straight for the targets they want no messing
I’d kill for half of that!

22nd August 2020 at 10:42 am #158532AnonymousTo be honest i don’t care where the funds come from as long as the player is worth the money. I also don’t think we should be judging him solely on one season. Frank has been a valuable asset when it comes to appealing to players.
Many of those players are eager to play for him. Others want. Werner already stated, Ziyech similarly, Havertz is said to want, similarly Chilwell. Athetico CB Jose Gimenez said he would like to play for Lampard. So he is equally as important as Marina. His appeal to players is worth a few penneis.

22nd August 2020 at 10:44 am #158535“After” the Chelski induced FFP rules were bought in, you mean, limiting your lot to only spending 200 million a transfer window… boo hoo… 🙂
Come Puppy, you know Chelski are, like, my 3,457th favourite team in London, just behind George Mitchell’s 3rd years B team.

22nd August 2020 at 10:52 am #158541Exactly nine mate. Patcience is needed but Chelsea don’t give managers time if things go wrong
I’d be very excited if I was a Chelsea fan. Really good squad coming together.
If things go wrong, doesn’t matter that it’s frank in charge, he will be sacked if Chelsea don’t do well in my opinion
That’s were the pressure comes in but I think Chelsea will do really well. Some excellent players and frank would have learned so much in his 1st season in the pl

22nd August 2020 at 11:11 am #158557All true Sean and the same applies to all Managers eventually if things don’t work out but Frank has probably got more credit in the Bank at Chelsea because of his history with the Club.
I agree very exciting time to be a Chelsea fan and I wouldn’t swap places with anyone right now.

22nd August 2020 at 1:29 pm #158650Stevo, the match going Chelsea fans are behind Frank 200% mate and I can’t see that ever changing he’s got massive credit in the Bank in the eyes of the majority of Chelsea fans especially the match going fans.
I think it will take two or three seasons for Chelsea to become realistic title contenders and you can’t discount United who will be big spenders not only this season but going forwards too and then there’s City and Liverpool who are currently a long way ahead of both.
So far Chelsea have only bought Werner and Ziyech whilst losing Willian and Pedro let’s wait and see where we are at the end the of the transfer window very difficult to makes predictions for any team until then.

22nd August 2020 at 1:30 pm #158651Sean, “If things go wrong, doesn’t matter that it’s frank in charge, he will be sacked if Chelsea don’t do well in my opinion” I think the same applies to any Manager Sean even Klopp.

22nd August 2020 at 1:52 pm #158669Here’s a lesson in economics and good management for you Chucky:
1)”Uefa has said Chelsea, the winners of the 2012 Champions League, received €59.9m (£47.3m) in prize money and were the biggest earners in last season’s competition.”
2) Chelsea paid £32m for Hazard in the Summer of 2012 out of the £47m CL winning prize money.
3) 7 years later after helping Chelsea to win 2 PL titles, 2 Europa Leagues, 1 FA Cup and 1 League Cup Chelsea sold Hazard for a fee now estimated to be approaching £120m inc add ons providing a profit to the Club of circa £90m
4) Currently Chelsea have spent circa £80m on Werner and Ziyech less than the circa £90m profit from the Hazard sale.

Ha, ha completely unintentional Stevo I wouldn’t write anyonr off it’s just that City and Liverpool are the outstanding teams and United and Chelsea currently look like the biggest spenders in trying to Bridge the gap.

22nd August 2020 at 2:27 pm #158697Puppy… can Jack The Ripper claim innocence by suggesting because he hasn’t killed for ages?? 🙂
Just because you might happen to be playing by the rules now, does not mean for one minute that everything you’ve won since spending billions and causing implementation of FFP in the first place is suddenly genuine. I don’t like the Goonies, YooUtd, LiVARberoOol’s, etc… but unlike the money clubs (of which you are the founding member!) I can respect their achievements which I cannot do with Chelski/Money Cheaty/PSG.
The only argument, you’ve got and it’s not even an argument, more of a statement really, is simply “fook off, I’ve been a fan since before we bought our way to the top so I’m going to enjoy the ride, cyber chum”. It’s not the greatest “argument”, but it’s the only argument you’ve got. Sorry, the “but we’re spending the profits we made from our previous financial doping regime so it’s all good” isn’t really going to work!
It’s not all bad, still don’t your lot as much as I don’t like YooUtd! 🙂
