Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by SportWitness, say that a deal will be concluded “in a few days” or “next week at most.”
As expected it will be a loan deal, with a compulsory purchase clause in there which will mean the midfielder moves for a €22m/23m fee in a year’s time.
That, combined with the loan fees Chelsea will have accumulated for three years in a row, will mean that they lose little, if any, money on the €40m they paid for him in the first place.
That can be considered a victory, of sorts.”

Some further informstion on new defensive signing Xavier Mbuyamba from the Standard.
The player’s agent, Carlos Barros said .“Chelsea gave a fantastic presentation,” he said. “There is a unique football atmosphere there. You immediately sit with the first-team players during lunch and the club has outlined a very ambitious plan for Xavier.

The Silva to Chelsea rumours have resurfaced again so there might be some legs to them?
Silva hasn’t discounted signing another new contract with PSG either though?
Difficult to know whether to laugh or cry.??
I suspect Chelsea fans will be watching the CL Final with a bit more interest on Sunday night now as I think Silva is going to be quite busy.?

Selling our best player to a rival who could potentially rival us a CL spot is very stupid. and I will be shocked if Chelsea even listens let alone consider it. despite his injury record Kante is our best player in the middle of the park. and Frank wouldn’t allow him to move anywhere. I remember one of the things that ignited the feud between the club and Conte was the selling of Matic to United, which Conte was against. I don’t want to see a similar scenario as Frank always speaks highly of Kante and shows that he rates him.

Chelsea is close to finalising a deal of up to £50million for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, according to reports. that is one positive report from the papers this week. I say Amen to the lord. Chilwell like left-back is what our defence has been crying for years since Ashley Cole has left the club. and whilst £50million is a bit expensive it’s still lower than the £53million that City has paid for Mendy he is injured 80% of his time at the club. if this goes through, kudos to Marina and big P. Cech for pulling off this marvellous deal.

Stevo, I doubt Chelsea were ever really in for Dunk if they were why would he as a Chelsea fan sign a contract extension at Brighton and give up the chance to play at a higher level and in the CL for the Club he supported as boy plus he would be earning a lot more money at Chelsea so it doesn’t hang together for me.
He is though a nonsense CB who would have improved us defensively imo.
We are linked with do many it’s difficult to know who we might sign I still think we’ll sign a CB and a Keeper. After which we should be good to go.?
One or two fringe players need to be sold too.

“Tho no excuses now for Frank so a lot more pressure.” Stevo I don’t think there is any more pressure on Frank now than there was on day one nobody is expecting Chelsea to win the title just yet although if we get all of the signings done I will be disappointed if we don’t close the gap on City and Liverpool and we don’t finish in third place. A real title challenge though is probably a season of two away imo.

To be fair 999 however the money cane in with all these new signings after a 4th place finish the expectation should go up in line
