Even nice guys can go off and say some pretty bad shit sometimes. This definitely isn’t great but stones and glass houses.
As for what Werner said, I take it with a pinch of salt, I mean the way you phrased it is more believable/accurate for me Nine. Lampard was almost certainly a big reason why Werner chose Chelsea but Klopp was the reason he chose England, initially. Footballers always change their tunes if moves don’t work out. I know I should be able to think of some other examples but off the top of my head, I can’t.
If I were a footballer, I’d consider Chelsea partially because of Frank. I was slightly disappointed in how he acted here, I wish I knew who he was saying only won 1 league title etc. it can’t have been Klopp cause he’s won 3… but I mean, the pressure was on frank that day. They had a CL place to win/lose and rightly or wrongly, he felt that a tackle wasn’t a foul, so I mean, whatever.
The most disappointing thing was him repeating that Liverpool can’t get too arrogant, after the match. I’ve come to know Lampard as a man of class and this was just classless. He’s apologized for the swearing but as you lads can guess, a few swears for me is just a burst of an emotional response and carries little weight after that. To restate that Liverpool are arrogant, when I think we’re incredibly humble (for the best team in the universe!!:P )… Well, let’s hope that this is the end of it, I don’t want any feud nonsense to kick off. We had enough of that bloody rubbish with Jose. I think Klopp and Lampard are too mature to let this spill over.

28th July 2020 at 8:48 pm #135839Mak, it was Hand bags mate these things have taken place for years between rival Managers and Coaches none of us know what was said allegedly the Liverpool No 2 was out of order Frank is a pretty level headed guy so seemingly something was said that caused him to react like he did and to be fair it all came out of a free kick awarded to Liverpool that led to a Liverpool goal that even Carragher said wasn’t a free kick.
Lampard is on record after the game as saying he has respect for both Klopp and what the Liverpool team have achieved.
All over and done with now buddie and not worth worrying about.
As for Werner four things need to happen for a Club to sign a new player they want to sign the chasing Club has to really want him, the selling Club has to be prepared to sell him for an agreeable fee, the player has to want to go there and the potential buying Clubs have to have the funds to buy him.
In this case Liverpool were alongside a number of Clubs including Chelsea interested in buying Werner and seemingly Liverpool were in the driving seat unfortunately Liverpool didn’t for whatever reason have the funds to buy Werner and Chelsea did but there were seemingly other Clubs competing for Werner too or he could have stayed at Leipzig for another season.
I’m pleased Frank got involved and Werner has confirmed that Frank played a major part in him joining Chelsea which is what you want your Manager to do so good on Frank.

28th July 2020 at 10:01 pm #135875Do you honestly think Frank Lampard doesn’t know how many League titles Liverpool have won previous to this one?
Liverpool had a fantastic season and won a much coveted PL title after 30 years.
Things get said in the heat of the moment on the touchlind always have done always will do Frank confirmed he was reacting specifically to the alleged antics of Liverpool’s No 2 and he confirmed his respect for Klopp and Liverpool as a team after the game.
As Harry Redknapp said who knows Frank better than most
“Frank is very calm usually, he doesnโt tend to get involved in things like this.
“For him to react like that, it must have been something to really wind him up.โ

28th July 2020 at 10:10 pm #135882Yes most managers no doubt exchange similar blows week in week out but we just donโt usually hear them because of the fans. Still though, just because itโs a part of the culture doesnโt mean it reflects well on the game. If the referees ever micโd up like they do in rugby, theyโd have to bleep most of it in football.

28th July 2020 at 10:56 pm #135905That would be a shame Sean.
On reflection I’ve deleted my final para above as I don’t want you or anyone else to feel they can’t say exactly what they want on the Chelsea thread.
But these things happen week in and week out mate.
Jurgen telling Frank to calm down did make me smile though.
As I said previously Frank confirmed his respect for both Klopp and Liverpool after the game.
All something and nothing imo and two games ago too only the media with nothing to write about are keeping it chugging along.Cheers 9’s

29th July 2020 at 4:10 am #136045AnonymousNine, I understand the process that must happen for transfers to go through ๐ I followed the Werner one myself quite a lot and you won’t remember but I had actually thought it was all nonsense (Liverpool link) for quite some time but eventually the lads in the know started saying it was on and Werner himself started talking about Klopp and Liverpool and I can’t remember exactly what was said but it was quite suggestive.
I’m not claiming that he was going to move to Liverpool even after the virus impact meant we couldn’t afford him. “Liverpool didnโt for whatever reason have the funds to buy Werner” – Even before the virus, we were seemingly not going to “over-pay” but once it hit, we just didn’t have the money to sign him and I’m wondering if we’ll find room in the budget to sign anyone at all this summer.
His dad : โFor him to react like that, it must have been something to really wind him up.โ
Maybe so but I’ve got to hear what was said before I’m going to assume that the Liverpool number 2 is arrogant, which Frank has reiterated after the match. Actually he’s just said They, or Liverpool I think? If you’re going to throw accusations around, you’d wanna back it up and as for him saying he respected Klopp after the game, I don’t think Klopp will have taken this as a sign of respect. He takes great pride in the character of his group and Klopp himself is a pretty humble guy. Now, this went 2 ways I think, maybe Klopp knows or found out that something pretty shitty was said and will have had a word. Or Frank has insulted Klopp and then followed that up with 1-2 more of the same remarks in the press afterwards.
Anyway, I don’t have strong feelings on the matter and we have our sides in the situation. I can see that we have got some problems on this touchline, so best left at that or soon perhaps ๐

In fairness it was pretty funny stuff. Klopp then eventually with the schoolteacher “HEEYY!!” and Frank then with the “Fuck off you aswell” hahaha
Now that was funny stuff.

29th July 2020 at 6:55 am #136118Yes 40,000 or whatever it is in the stadium and no one hears anything. In this case with an empty stadium we hear the lot. Probably happens more often than we are aware. All hand bags and hardly worthy of any sort of a blow up on here. We are all cyber mates and have our moments but move on. Sean, wack on that sexy poker dotted garter and suspenders and get back on here ๐

29th July 2020 at 7:34 am #136135Ah all good lads, I was just taking nines comment on board as it is a Chelsea thread.
No bother , we all get a bit heated up in The moment
Iโve no bother with frank . Found it funny
As for Werner, heโs a Chelsea player now and they have got themselves a proper player
Throw in hyech, Pulisic and havertz and thatโs some front 4 for Chelsea
4-2-3-1
New gk
James tomori new cb new lbKante Jorginho
Hyiech havertz Pulisic
WernerWhat a team that is. I know Jorginho might be sold but I think heโs a very good player especially if he has Kante beside him
I really like tomori aswell . Exciting times

29th July 2020 at 8:15 am #136154Sean, the point I was trying to make in my deleted paragrsph was that on a Chelsea thread the Chelsea lads on here would probably prefer to discuss the FA Cup Final and the comings and goings in the transfer market rather than the silly spat between Jรผrgen and Frank.
I don’t want you or anyone else to feel they can’t post what they want on the Chelsea thread and I certainly don’t want to see you not posting on the Chelsea thread which is why I deleted that paragraph. Cheers 9’s

29th July 2020 at 8:19 am #136156Mak, I posted on here a while back that Werner was Liverpool bound it didn’t happen and Chelsea moved in.
I still think Liverpool will make a couple of signings and what Klopp has been saying lately seems to indicate that but I doubt it will be Mbappe.?
By the way it as “Uncle Harry” who said that.? Cheers 9’s

29th July 2020 at 8:35 am #136166Anonymoussean – you’re allowed to comment on Chelsea threads, just make sure every word you say is as if you are the biggest Chelsea supporter in the world and is nothing but praise, otherwise your opinion doesn’t count and isn’t welcome.

29th July 2020 at 9:07 am #136183Reports suggest that Chilwell has told Leicester he wants to join Chelsea?
Can’t see it happening at the suggested ยฃ70m Leicester would supposedly want for him anything over ยฃ40/ยฃ50m rules it out imo so let’s not mess about and move on.

29th July 2020 at 9:19 am #136191Seems to be a couple of points being discussed here.
Firstly, Lampard versus the Liverpool staff. This has been seriously blown out of proportion. These things happen every match and as Chelsea1967 says it’s only really news because the cameras picked up what was said. Lots get said during a match they are emotional events but I am sure most people forget and move on once the final whistle is blown.
Second, Chelsea’s transfer dealings and potential signings. I just think Chelsea are in a perfect moment due to the Coronavirus. They have money whilst many of the big teams (who may have bid for the likes of Werner or Havetz or definitely be linked to them ) do not or are worried about next season’s finances. Chelsea are having an almost free ride for any of the top players, and to be honest who can blame them?

29th July 2020 at 3:57 pm #136365Be suprised if we donโt go three at the back v Arsenal as it will probably match up to Arsenal too.
The team pretty much picks itself with Kante if heโs fit probably coming in for Jorginho.
Only question mark is two out of three from Willian, Mount and Pulisic and whether Willian is 100% fit and is his head right for this game given everything?

29th July 2020 at 6:24 pm #136439AnonymousSince they won the league, it seems the Liverpool fan base in this site has gone from humble to aggressive. and that is my honest assessment incase you disagree.
