I see this from the lens of Chelsea fans as Real Opportunity not only to nail 3 points, but take another step closer to a Champions League Spot. Plus Goals to better Goal Difference which may come into play.
Norwich obviously are condemned and will be a wounded animal. But this one is a home banker for me and a fixture to immediately bounce back and put last Saturday’s woes behind.
3 to 4 nil would be a perfect morale booster.

14th July 2020 at 10:17 pm #128370I wouldn’t want to watch that game again but importantly it’s 3 points and a clean sheet.

14th July 2020 at 10:53 pm #128397Nine, it’s a big plus-point mate: clean sheet and 3 points. Another fixture crossed off the list and against the others, Chelsea are in a better position.
I’d say in nature this would add pressure to any of those chasing Teams.
Cheers

14th July 2020 at 11:03 pm #128404Well, that was a heart beater! I haven’t been this anxious for quite some time. our defence has been nervous even though Norwich looked harmless. but the objective of the night has been met and that is the most important part of the story. over to you United and Leicester. I hope our friends from Sheffield and North London are up to the task. on the other hand, I would also expect our friends from the Merseyside to return the favour and tweak their line up at the very least since we have done the job for them earlier???. anyway, that is just a joke. but we need to play the perfect match to stand any chance from taking something at Anfield.

That one I have surrendered to already, United are playing some lovely stuff and had a shot in the arm when they signed Fernandez and the return of Pogba and Rashford has given them an extra boost. so where ever they finish and whichever they will finish I don’t know. but I had them in the top already._____________________________

15th July 2020 at 11:07 am #128798On form Sheffield United could turn over Leicester and I reckon that will give us a top four spot because Leicester have to play Manchester United on the last day and before that Spuds. We are looking OK.

15th July 2020 at 12:00 pm #128830Rodgers has been getting criticism from some sections of Leicester supporters, C67. He’s struggled missing key players and lack of depth in the squad. I think Sheff United have raised eyebrows throughout this campaign and can see them finishing the season on a high.
They are capable in holding Leicester so strong hope of confidence π

I have already bought my Sheffield and Spurs jerseys. plus I want the hammers to lose their next game, to still be in the relegation dog fight by the time they go to OldTrafford.

16th July 2020 at 1:23 pm #129681Given the number of disadvantages that Frank has faced when he took over at Chelsea, the loss of our best player, the two transfer window ban. and he was written off by many including his own fans. part of that stems out from the fact that Frank has had one season of the championship level managerial experience under his belt. so many were sceptical about him earlier in his career. that coupled with the media stirring the pot at every opportunity. but I have to say he has weathered the storm impressively. whatever happens, whether we get or miss CL football next season. Frank has laid an impressive foundation for years to come.

16th July 2020 at 2:16 pm #129682Anonymousdespite the ban, Chelsea were still able to secure Kovacic and pulisic. they also have a squad currently valued at Β£750m (transfermarkt.co.uk). regardless of the situation with lampard coming in during a transfer ban, Chelsea should always be competing for a top 4 place at a minimum.
Lampard has done brilliantly giving the younger players a chance but we’ll see if that continues next season with Abraham and James already out of favour and mount having little impact the second half of the season.
i would also say if anything the media have given him a free pass and a very easy ride this season. nothing against that but to say he’s had it tough from the media is incorrect.

16th July 2020 at 3:37 pm #129698You see i’m not speaking from the point view of a Spurs fan. i support Chelsea i know how the club works. Frank has nothing to do with Pulisic and Kovacic. and on top of that he lost one of the best player in the league. as for you saying Chelsea have a Β£750m squad, not sure where you Have got that. and i never expect a Spurs fan to say good things about Lamard given his history with Spurs during his playing days.
And if the media are giving him a free pass, it’s because he is humble.

16th July 2020 at 3:47 pm #129704Anonymousyou really are precious arent you. i have not attacked chelsea or lampard in any way. if you want this to be the chelsea fans only thread then change the name but this is an open forum where people can comment.
I provided the source of the squad value. if you want the exact link I will happily provide.
who said lampard had anything do with kovacic and pulisic? you mentioned the transfer ban so i mentioned the two new players chelsea obtained, one who was the replacement for hazard.
how dare i say such slanderous things like “Lampard has done brilliantly giving the younger players a chance”
so tell me have the media given him a hard time “with the media stirring the pot” or have they given him a free ride because hes humble?
anyway, to make sure i’m allowed to stay on this thread PRAISE LAMPARD, PRAISE CHELSEA, PRAISE STAMFORD BRIDGE THE HOME OF FOOTBALL!!!!!!

16th July 2020 at 4:42 pm #129735First of all, I was addressing Lampard’s progress as a manager and not Chelsea. so you missed me there when you jumped the gun there by claiming Chelsea have a Β£750m squad, again I was wondering how having a Β£750m squad to do with one’s ability as a coach. so the issue was specific to Lampard as a coach and not the club.
I’m neither the editor nor the moderator of this forum, so I don’t have the powers to let you or block you from any thread in this forum that you wish to post. so I was wondering why you choose to go that side.
Once again, if I repeat my point, I was rating Frank’s first season as a premier manager and not the Chelsea season. besides everyone is entitled to their opinion and the best way is to respect their opinion even if you don’t agree. you may not agree with what I posted and there are many other you will not agree with me, but on the other side, there are plenty who will agree with my assessment of Frank in his first premier managerial season.
