Hope Chelsea can get back to winning ways.
It’s Independence Day in the USA tomorrow which hopefully might inspire Pulisic to even greater heights.
Frank needs to make some changes imo particularly defensively and in midfield where we conceded possesion far too easily v WHU and then there’s the conundrum of Tammy or Giroud for Frank to decide on.
I think Frank will probably stick with Kepa but I don’t think he’ll be No 1 next season.
3 points are a must!

4th July 2020 at 9:26 am #126119They can beat Manchester City but basically the same side struggle against West Ham. We’ve been here before. I expect them to beat Watford however nothing would surprise me. Mason Mount is not performing like I thought he would. I expect his game to lift starting with this one. Tammy, well he was non existent against West Ham. No more slip ups.

4th July 2020 at 10:02 am #126122Anyone seen Leicester’s run in. Palace (h), Arsenal (a), Bournemouth (a), Sheffield U (h), Tottenham (a), Man Utd (h). With those last two in particular and them only a point in front of us, I reckon Chelsea have a really good chance of 3rd or 4th. The other challenger apart from Man Utd is Wolves and they have got Arsenal (h), Sheffield U (a), Everton (h), Burnley (a), Palace (h), Chelsea (a). Man Utd have Bournemouth (h), Villa (a), Southampton (h), Palace (a), West Ham (h) and Leicester (a). I am reasonably confident that both Man Utd and Chelsea will fill 3rd and 4th in whatever order. We have Watford (h), Palace (a), Sheffield U (a), Norwich (h), a couldn’t give a rats Liverpool (a) and Wolves (h). Two amazing final round matches that stand out Leicester v Manchester United and Chelsea v Wolves with all four vying for 3rd and 4th. WOW!!!!

4th July 2020 at 1:20 pm #126131Not playing like we did on Wednesday night we won’t 67.
Very difficult to progress with a mistake laden defence only Burnley have conceded more goals than Chelsea and by not creating sufficient chances despite having 75% possesion.
It’s going to be nip and tuck imo from Leicester down to Wolves and it could easily go to the last game of the season when one will lose out if the 5th placed team gets to play their get out of jail card.? And we won’t know if that exists until Monday week. I don’t know about Leicester but our fixtures aren’t too kind either
Shocking performance on Wednesday and there are a few players who just aren’t good enough for the Club’s ambitions.
We need to get back on track today with 3 points with Palace and Sheffield United away up next. Fingers crossed.???

4th July 2020 at 10:16 pm #126152Phew! We needed that.
Some good performances and we played with a bit more commitment and energy than the other night v West Ham.
We should have been out of sight again though and it would have been a nervy last 10 minutes had Watford scored.

5th July 2020 at 1:18 am #126153AnonymousChelsea and Utd are really starting to make strides. Your summer dealings are going to be very very interesting now lads. I hope chelsea will be up to making that next step and although I don’t want Utd to win anything, it would be ok if they made some progress too.. but not too much cause screw them. They are too fantastically wealthy, we cant let them get ahead or they’ll never be caught again.

5th July 2020 at 3:34 pm #126176First of two tough away games. We could have done without this: “N’Golo Kante could miss Chelsea’s Premier League trip to Crystal Palace after picking up a hamstring injury.
The France midfielder trudged out of Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Watford, and could now sit out Tuesday’s trip to Selhurst Park.
Kante’s injury proved perhaps the sole blow in Chelsea’s comfortable Saturday night victory at Stamford Bridge, leaving Lampard sweating on the 29-year-old’s fitness.
“N’Golo Kante he has a small hamstring injury, we hope it is small, that’s what I’ve been told so far,” said Lampard.
“But I’m guessing it will be a problem for Palace on Tuesday.” Standard 5/07
Possibly no Kovacic too?
Jorginho or Gilmour???

6th July 2020 at 5:34 pm #126300Good video on the Chelsea site announcing the signings of all the new Scholars.
With the introduction of all the Academy players to the first team squad and first team this season it will be interesting to see how these new scholars develop especially as they’ve now seen a pathway to the Chelsea first team now exists.
Worth a watch for Chelsea fans.

Looks like Kai Havertz has set his heart on a move to Chelsea this summer according to @RealKevinPalmer, who says the fee is still to be agreed. pic.twitter.com/fVjzcRwVDz

7th July 2020 at 12:19 pm #126345AnonymousI mean, it’s really smart actually. Liverpool’s scouting has been absolutely on point since Edwards has been Director of Sport, or whatever title they call it these days. Liverpool were after this fellow and Werner but since we can no longer afford them, why the hell not pounce! I am kinda jealous but I respect the moves.
I am kinda hoping Chelsea will kick on but jesus, I don’t want ye to get THIS good in way 😛 as you lads know, we’ll be desperate to try to win the incredibly difficult back to back titles.
Anyway, if it’s gonna be someone, I’d prefer ye over most. Chelsea were bitter rivals in Europe for a few years and maybe after a little but I’ve huge respect for Lampard, he’s a top class guy and I hope he goes on to be a successful manager.
So, bloody exciting time to be a Chelsea supporter eh?

7th July 2020 at 2:30 pm #126352AnonymousMak… To be honest, we need a couple of regular goalscorers in the side to ease the burden on Tammy Abrahams. we could potentially loose Willian, Pedro is off, Callum Hudson Odoi still isnt back to where he was 14 months ago… It does leave us light and Werner and Havertz are two important Bundesliga players. It would be a coup to get Havertz but if we don’t, I think goals will continue to be a struggle for us. We need them from other areas of the park.
As for Lampard, It is so refreshing to have someone who understands the club, the fans and what is needed to bring out the best from our academy players who have really been impressive over the last 12 months. Thing is, Lamps will need to win something this year or next and the team will continue to grow and go in the right direction. Goals win games and I think we need a rock solid centre back this summer. Rice has been mentioned, the one that got away? Could be a good signing and a little cheaper if West Ham go down.
With the team Liverpool have, cant see us getting close next season, Reckon If city win CL Pepe could walk away. United back next season? Arsenal? City? Think a few clubs have a run and right to finish above us. Its just lovely to be able to sing Lampard’s name in the ground. Its great to have Jody Morris in the background with Chech, Makelele et all and the other youth teamers now coaching.
Sadly, cant chant Lampard’s name, cant go to a ground and games just seem less important right now. it’s a shame but it is what it is.

7th July 2020 at 3:32 pm #126354We have to trust in Frank’s judgement and Rice is undoubtedly a good player.
Whether the Club will pay what will almost certainly be an enormous fee for a player we had at the Chelsea Academy level up to age 14 is open to conjecture it’s been suggested the Club won’t because of that but personally if he’s the right player I don’t think it should get in the way.
Having said that we need a dominant Centre Back a la Koulibally imo who is too expensive for his age I’m not sure Rice fits that profile if Centre Back is where we are planning to play him.
If we were fortunate enough to buy Havertz we would be circa £20m down on the Hazard/Morata money and that’s before we sign anyone else which means if we really want to bring in the players we’re linked with including perhaps Rice we have to move some out like Michy Emerson etc etc too.

7th July 2020 at 4:35 pm #126355Anonymous999… you have to say there is a lot of profit in the players we will sell. Batshuyai is gone with the arrival of Werner. Emerson, Alonso, Jorghino. Pedro is off, Willian has yet to put pen to paper. At worst thats 70 million, on a good negotiating day probably more than 100 million. I think we’ll be alright. Unless crowds are not allowed next season, if we get one, and match days are as Barron as they are now.

7th July 2020 at 5:18 pm #126359442, I think a few will go and maybe not just squad players if we really are going to sign Harvetz, a Centre Back , a left back and a Keeper that lot would likely cost us circa £200m which would currently leave us £150m short and I suspect we might look to achieve break even or close to break even on transfers.
But I trust in Marina.?
