…and no Kante,Pulisic or Hudson Odoi and Tammy, RLC and Willian only fit enough for the bench.

22nd February 2020 at 3:11 pm #73543If Mourinho says he had the line up of the Chelsea team and was true, then he has embarrassed himself.because that will mean he knew the team and failed to counter amd lost.

22nd February 2020 at 3:39 pm #73544Sometimes Jose can be a prize plum Chelseaman. But if it was true then we need to find who it was and get rid of them.

22nd February 2020 at 5:52 pm #73549The fact that Frank is the first Manager to win home and away League games v Jose in Jose’s whole career probably says more about Jose than it does Frank.
It might explain though why Jose was so miffed that he ignored Frank’s outstretched hand at the Final whistle and went straight down the tunnel.

22nd February 2020 at 6:17 pm #73552Big test for the defence on Tuesday night v Bayern Moos. Kante will be a massive miss for that game.

23rd February 2020 at 9:01 am #73584AnonymousReally didn’t think we’d get the three points yesterday so credit where its due.
Got to hand it to Lamps, when he tries to close shop during a game, it opens it up… makes for a nailbitingn second half. coor blimey it does.

23rd February 2020 at 3:09 pm #73850That defence stood its ground yesterday. although the weaklink was Christensen. and he has done ok. the defence was also lacking protection yesterday. because Jorginho is more like a play maker than a defensive midfielder. if that defence gets a proper protection it will improve. Also Mount was on a different class yesterday, pressing Spurs from the from and forcing them into errors.
Would be very interesting that Mourinho claimed he has had an advance knowledge of the team that Frank will select. but still lost to him? that says more about Frank’s ability than Mourinho’s cleverness.
Just play the same team against Bayern plz. that team has everything in it. and and our players would benefit competition for places.

23rd February 2020 at 4:41 pm #73921CMan, my understanding was Jose claimed he knew the formation we would go with ie 3 at the back etc which he has subsequently denied. As you rightly say whatever he gleaned if anything at all didn’t help him.
Bayern is a much more difficult game I suspect Frank will want to add a few fresh legs if possible.
Hopefully we’ll keep it under 7.?

23rd February 2020 at 9:45 pm #74152Chelseaman from the Club site:
“It was announced earlier this month that a deal had been reached with Ajax for the 26-year-old’s signature, subject to the player agreeing personal terms.
On agreeing those terms, Ziyech said: ‘I am delighted and proud to have signed for such a huge club as Chelsea. I am looking forward to next season and hope we can achieve great things together.’
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘We are delighted Hakim will be joining us in the summer, having been a key target of the club’s in this last window. He has consistently been one of the most dangerous attacking players in Europe in recent years, which we saw first-hand in our two games against Ajax in the Champions League.
‘We wish Hakim and Ajax all the best for the rest of the season and look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.”
Sounds like it’s done and dusted buddie.

24th February 2020 at 9:31 am #74600Jose is a menace and always has been. This guy act is old and im tired of people thinking he is one of the elite managers. 10 years ago most clubs would shave rolled out the red carpet, but now he is such an effort to put up with. Of course he ignored Frank Lampard out of spite. Ferguson would never have snubbed a former player he came up against as a manager, nor would Wenger. But negative energy runs throughout Jose and in the end Tottenham will sack him sooner rather than later. You can go back years and years to when he slapped Puyol in the tunnel at the Nou Camp, to when he needlessly wound up the United fans when Porto beat them in the CL, to when he poked Tito in the eye. Sucks the oxygen right out of the room. I loved seeing him wince as his former player got the best of him, you could tell he hated losing to Chelsea under Lampard.

24th February 2020 at 10:56 am #74655Anonymousand welcome to the club Ziyech… Hopefully one to impress and probably means the exit for Pedro. Never really took to the guy, but has been part of a winning team and a very useful servant to the club. It’s all eyes on Willian and if he signs on for another season or is left to find a new club. If so, we’ll need to cover his departure as well…
One down, about four positions more to fill… Hopefully we’ll wrap up all the transfers before the summer.

24th February 2020 at 4:05 pm #74885AnonymousLinked with Mario Icardi… Yes please… Think he’d be a smash hit at any premier league club…. Would give us a bit of a swagger up top. Classy player.

24th February 2020 at 4:27 pm #74901Icardi is a great player but a bagful of trouble and then there’s his wife who is also his agent. Inter pushed him out because they had enough of him and big Clubs aren’t fighting to sign him. And he’s been a virtual outcast for Argentina because of all his baggage.
A move that requires a lot of consideration imo. Football wise he would be great but he makes Costa look like a Saint.

24th February 2020 at 9:25 pm #75140Aside from the wing-backs factor, we have also players who have remembered how to play their game, for instance, Kovacic rediscovered his best form for some time now, Mount has also rediscovered as well as Jorginho seems to be coming back to form. interesting is that exactly this time last year he went out of form for 3 months and the team suffered, and around late February and early March that he returned to form and the team picked up form. we are witnessing similar thing this season. once Jorginho is in the mood, the whole team plays better.
Kovacic has had the highest dribbles in a game against Spurs. Mount has had his best game for 4 months, what was interesting was the trademark runs that he has been making behind the Spurs defence. Alonso offers setpieces and goal threat that others don’t offer. and Giroud offers us a focal point in attack when our opponents play compact.
