I get where Moos is coming from.
But having said that I can’t believe Chelsea would be appealing if there wasn’t a chance of overturning the ban for January and presumably the Club would have taken legal advice on that.
I don’t think there’s much chance of Chelsea being exonerated the best outcome is likely to be successfully appealing that the two window ban was too severe.
Perhaps the Club have already got deals lined up for January should the ban be lifted if they haven’t it’s all a bit of a damp squib imo as it’s always very difficult to get the players you want n January

4th November 2019 at 10:25 pm #51886I saw tbis in somewhere. not sure how pretty accurate it is. may be we should rather discuss this who knows?
Jadon Sancho tops Frank Lampard’s four-man transfer wishlist as Chelsea allot Β£150m budget

5th November 2019 at 12:19 am #51887Pagan, Real Madrid successfully appealed to CAS in 2017 to get their transfer ban reduced and both of the other major Spanish Clubs have appealed to CAS similarly both unsuccessfully so precedent exists.
Whether Chelsea will be succesful in their bid to get the transfer ban reduced is something else though presumably the Club must think there’s a chance of the ban being overturned following legal guidance or they wouldn’t be doing it we’ll see.
I’m not sure it’s that much of a big deal now either way.

5th November 2019 at 8:51 am #51888999, I was thinking more of setting a new precedent of not buckling under pressure from the bigger clubs….Pagan

5th November 2019 at 9:19 am #51890Pagan, CAS is an Independent Arbitration Court for all Sport. They won’t overturn the punishment but after hearing from both sides they might reduce the ban if they think Chelsea have a case.
Given that Real, Barca and Atletico have appealed to them on the same basis against the same charges I’m not sure Chelsea are setting any kind of precedent even if successful which I have my doubts it will be.
In the last 3 Appeals for the same charge Real were the only one successful.

5th November 2019 at 10:05 am #51894Nine I can only speak for myself but when your lot & man city went crazy with the spending I for 1 didnβt really respect it that much when you won titles, to me they were brought trophyβs. yes I know itβs always been the same but itβs the extent all at once over a few seasons that made me feel that way. I know Liverpool are spending big but still nowhere near those 2 clubs spent. Throw in real, Barca etc & I think the C/L victory was a great achievement. I suppose itβs the underdog thing. I expect city to win the EPL because they have the best squad as their spending put them that far ahead of everyone else. As for Chelsea now, I think itβs a massive achievement to be playing so well with so many youngsters strutting their stuff & I really hope it continues. A top 4 finish would be a massive achievement all things considered & I hope you get there.
Take care all._____________________________

5th November 2019 at 10:24 am #51895Oz,I totally get you but as you say it’s always been the same when Liverpool were dominating the League they were one of the biggest spenders and buying VVD, Alisson, Fabinho and Keita in the space of 6 months turned Liverpool from top 4 challengers to CL winners and potential PL Champions and good luck to you.
But you’re right there is something special about a team based around a Clubs young players and Chelsea are playing some good football currently but we are still a team in transition and it will be interesting to see what happens when the transfer ban is lifted.
Even Fergie added Roy Keane and Cantona to his Class of 92.? Cheers 9’s

5th November 2019 at 1:29 pm #51899Marc van Hintum was technical director at Vitesse at the time Mount was there, and heβs told De Telegraaf just how highly he rates the player: βThis is the best Chelsea player I have ever seen at Vitesse. Mason is so incredibly all-round. He can do everything and is extremely good in terms of mentality. I canβt really mention anything he is weak at.
βHis completeness makes him exceptional. Even without a transfer ban for Chelsea, he would have one hundred percent for sure been in their first team.β_____________________________

5th November 2019 at 7:57 pm #51931Kepa Arrizabalaga
Marcos Alonso
Kurt Zouma
Fikayo Tomori
Cesar Azpilicueta
Marcos AlonsoJorginho
Mateo KovacicWillian
Mason Mount
Christian PulisicTammy Abraham
4-2-3-1 i assume will be that line up. although i would have liked Kante alongside Jorginho and rest Kovacic.

5th November 2019 at 8:54 pm #51937You can see why Lampard has made Emerson our first choice LB. Alonso has defensive deficiencies that is becoming a problem to our left sided CB as it drags him out of position which then drags Zouma and Azpi also out of position. now let Lampard replace both of our fullbacks and Kovacic. because Kovacic looks tired.

5th November 2019 at 9:04 pm #51938Ajax have been good but as good as their crosses were thatβs two fortunate ogβs.
An early goal in the 2nd half for Chelsea and you never know but Ajax on tonightβs showing are probably the best team weβve played all season. Going to be tough to keep Ajax out though.

5th November 2019 at 9:12 pm #51940For me Kepa has to take some responsibility for the second goal, he needs to more commanding, he should have been in full pantomime mode in the build up, telling Apzi the player was behind him…..Pagan

5th November 2019 at 9:57 pm #51951Fabulous team Ajax, best team we’ve played this season.
Great comeback keeps us in the hunt. Brilliant game of football
Mount is potentially a big loss though looks like his ankle again.

6th November 2019 at 8:13 am #51967AnonymousProblem with Kepa is even though he does make good saves is his positional sense. We letting in far too many goals the whole season already. There’s also a couple of slow coaches in the defence which compounds the problem. Reece James should be a definite starter but Lampard want drop his captain. Rudiger, RLC, Barkley and Kante will be like excellent new signings when they fit.

6th November 2019 at 12:03 pm #51976AnonymousMoos, Donnt blame it on Lampard, dont blame it on Willian blame it on the kepa.
What is wrong with Spains and Chelsea’s number one keeper? No settled back line, team shape and formations changing, players injured, new style of pressing implemented and the fact we’re conceding is down to our Keeper who isnt very good at positioning? Id argue its actually one of his stronger assists in his game given the saves he has been making. You know the Onnes where his hand digs out balls either side of his feet or saving Chelsea three points against Watford where he turned the ball around his post.
The annual Stamford Bridge Terrace witch hunt is starting. To think I was slaughtered by Chelsea fans on here for daring to suggest our defence isnt very good at the start of the season and it would cost us. yada yada yada… Will leave you guys to it on this thread.
