Putting aside the fact that Don Balon are probably the least accurate of all the Spanish media maybe there’s something in Bale to Chelsea??? Make Chucky’s day.?

The Bale rumours are interesting. he is a left-footer as well as a serial winner. he will be the perfect addition to this squad. the only downside to that injury is his injury record. but Chelsea has a very good medical team. Diego Costa was injury prone but since he joined Chelsea he has been fine. Bale is a man with a point to prove, we don’t want another young player now. we want experienced senior. and Bale is British he counts as homegrown as well. if it was me who makes that decision, I would book a ticket for Marina this minute to seal that deal.

Realistically I see the links to Bale as merely rumours propelgated by the worst of the Spanish media for rumours.

I would be surprised if Chelsea were prepared to pay £50m for a player who will be 31 before the start of next season and therefore have no resale value and who is regularly injured and that’s before we get to his current 15m euros pa wages.

If Real were to offer Chelsea a silly deal ie a prolonged loan period with subsidised wages then maybe other than that I reckon it’s probably yesterday’s fish and chip paper. But we’ll see.

Would rather keep faith with Christensen than go for a West Ham CB. we need to find the old Kante back and out defence will be sorted. unless we find our old Kante back, I don’t think our defence will be alright. Zouma, Tomori, Rudiger and Christensen is fine if we are to target someone, just let it be a defensive-minded midfielder that compliments our attackers.

Don’t why we are so obsessed with a centre back. Ake is a good CB, if we are to sign him, why woud we consider selling Christensen? convert him to play a defensive midfielder for sure he has a good range of passing and is young. he can also be played at CB when needed.

That’s the problem with the transfer market for everyone you bring in one has to go out not only to help balance the books and keep on top of wages but also to keep within the 25 man squad ruling.

“Sky Sports were last night claiming that Chelsea had “made an offer” for the loan of Gedson Fernandes of Benfica, with an option to buy for £55m included in the deal.

Just 24 hours later, they are now reporting that Fernandes’ deal to join West Ham on an 18 month loan deal is done, and that the midfielder will join our London rivals shortly.

We’re not surprised. the links to us never felt as convincing as those to the Hammers, and our need for a central midfielder is much less than theirs. Within less than a day, an unconvincing rumour has been proved to be likely totally false.

It’s a welcome reminder to not trust anything you hear from Sky straight away, as they’re as likely as anyone to just be pushing money towards their SkyBet business.
