7th January 2020 at 1:13 pm #57939that certainly puts a different slant on things, people were assuming all was good and they had a war chest plus the hazard cash…

7th January 2020 at 1:33 pm #57940Lots of different circumstances go into this loss inc compensation to Conte, No CL monies and having to get involved in a last minute deal for Kepa because Courtois changed his mind just the balance of the Kepa fee over what we received for Courtois and the compensation to Conte cost the best of Β£50m.
The Hazard money isn’t in these figures and it’s upwards of Β£80m neither is the Morata money of Β£58m due in the Summer from Atletico.
There are also players that we can sell in the Summer Christensen, Emerson, Barkley and Michy which will bring in circa Β£100m.
Also if we spend Β£300m for instance over two windows that money is amortised over the lengths of the players contracts which means an actual expenditure on the financials of Β£60m on transfers over 5 years whilst all of the recievables ie Hazard and Morata which will be Β£140m p!us plus the monies for the players above go straight into the financials.
Don’t panic Mr Mannering!?

7th January 2020 at 1:50 pm #57942Stevo, not sure where the BBC have got that from Chelsea have rigidly stuck to FFP and indeed the statement alongside these financials makes the point that despite the loss the Club is still working within the FFP rules and the rules wouldn’t let Abramovich invest that level of funding without it was infrastructure and whilst the owner and the Board might be many things they’re not stupid.
The only way that Abramovich would/could have invested that level of funding into the Football Club is through infrastructure and there’s no way that Chelsea lost Β£350m in one season given who they bought in that season so that bit just doesn’t hang together.
No other media outlet has reported it and the Chelsea financials have been out for a while and if accurate and it wasn’t set against infrastructure it would have been a massive story and have been previously reported.
I know you and other opposition fans would love it to be true? but I really can’t see it.

7th January 2020 at 2:32 pm #57944Ha, ha, Stevo let’s not forget that Henry Norris and George Graham and his brown envelopes showed everyone the way.? Or that CAS halved the penalty and it was to do with the transfers of young players all of which had been approved and sanctioned by the FA.
I’ve looked at the official end of year financial statement for the period 2018/19 for the Football Club and there is no influx of money from Abramovich in those figures.

7th January 2020 at 9:28 pm #579869, from my understanding you can lose about Β£27m a season over a rolling 3 year period, so two small profits and a loss of Β£90 odd m keeps you within the FFP.
As for Roman he could have personally bought shares/assets off his own company, I believe heβs done that before by actually converting his companyβs loans to personal ownership.
More of a concern is the increase in wages by Β£41m…..Pagan

7th January 2020 at 10:35 pm #57989I have to say that I’m very disappointed with the Metropolitan Police department and Tottenham hotspurs football club for their handling of the Rudiger incident. after almost 3 weeks of investigations, the findings was Rudiger made up those allegations. and guess what. commercial attraction is much more important than morality today. thank you Metropolitan Police, thank you Tottenham hotspurs football club for empowering the racist punches. watch out this will discourage many potential victims from reporting any incidents in the future. because clubs and the police will cover-up. you don’t need to identify that something that has to do with his race. judging by Ruudiger’s reaction you should judge from his reaction.
At least I’m proud of my club Chelsea Football Club. we don’t condone racism and us don’t cover-up. and hats off to the match going fans at Spurs ground who has reported that idiot who went there to embarrass us. you set the bar very high. let us see who passes that test. I’m sure not many clubs will pass. and not many will report one of their won. Kudos to Chelsea football club match going find. I’m proud of you!
And by the way, forgive me if my words were out of order. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone neither I’m out to stoke any trouble.

8th January 2020 at 4:07 am #57992We have a captain however we are missing a leader. A vital cog in any sporting side. Jose sums it up very well in this video.
Jose Mourinho talking about the difference between a captain and a leader is the best video you'll watch today.
This is quite brilliant from the special one. ?? pic.twitter.com/yWNFORlXMd

8th January 2020 at 9:18 am #58005Pagan, re Roman’s investment I think that’s probably the case as I said Iβve looked at the actual official end of year financial statement for the period 2018/19 signed of by the Auditors for the Football Club and there is no influx of money from Abramovich in those figures.
I agree the increase in wages are a concern but from what I can see there are no exceptionals listed seperately in the accounts and I wonder whether the Conte/Staff compensation might sit in there we’ve also added 36 Commercial and Administrative staff to the wage bill at various levels.
I don’t think players wages have grown exceptionally if you look at the details and who allegedly earns what in the Club and we’ve lost the wages of both Hazard and Luiz and that will show us a saving in the next financial report.
Overall whilst the results are disappointing it’s primarily down to the collisions of many different circumstances and I’m pretty sure that the next reported financial results will confirm that. Cheers 9’s
