Everything is going rather smoothly after an uncomfortable start. The team is pressing up and all over the pitch. A downturn in form will come, it is inevitable with so many young players. I think thatβs when frank will earn his corn. It will be interesting to see reactions after a few more losses or draws… defensively hope we tighten when rudiger and Kante are back full time. But after 11 games, starting to get a good vibe.

4th November 2019 at 9:28 am #51845The litmus test will be when everybody gets used to this new Chelsea team, if/when anybody figures out how to play them. At the moment it’s all very new to the league. It’s all looking good for now, for sure, but time will tell!

4th November 2019 at 9:51 am #51847City away after Palace at home. That is a little scary but having said that we weren’t too bad in the two matches against Liverpool. Hopefully though both Rudiger and Kante are on board for that one π

4th November 2019 at 10:20 am #51848AnonymousChucks… yep… It was interesting to read Watford Managers talk to his players. Basically, if you leave the school gate open, the children will run amok…. Probably quite apt. Its a team with large energy and developing a personality. Any player who joins up with the squad will have to be on exactly the same wavelength. Sort of player who would thrive would be Mbappe… Its that sort of player Chelsea need to target before they become a megastar to fit in with a side thats wont everything at junior levels. Anyone else think Calum Hudson Odoi looked a little cheesed off to come on in the last ten? good to see imo… everyone is hungry to play.

4th November 2019 at 10:21 am #51849AnonymousAlso, thought ex Chelsea boy Mr Chalobah had a very effective game, Three lions will beckon if he can stay injury free and play like he did as Southgate rates him.

4th November 2019 at 10:49 am #51853Court of Arbitration for Sport has confirmed that #cfc’s appeal against Fifa’s two-window transfer ban will be heard on November 20. If reduced by one, the club will be allowed to buy in January.

4th November 2019 at 10:58 am #51854Interesting 67. If successful will it maka a lot of difference though I’m not sure it will January is always a very tough month to buy the players you might want in.
But whatever happens we’ll be free to buy from the Summer potentially adding to the exciting squad we now have.

4th November 2019 at 11:03 am #51855This a Chelsea team in development and is probably a tad ahead of where everyone expected it to be 3 key players are still to return in RLC, Rudiger and Kante other exciting young players are still coming through and we will shortly have the opportunity to buy too.
As Glen Hoddle said this is going to be some team in a season or two albeit that I’m sure there will be the odd hiccup along the way.
Personally I would still be happy with a top 6 finish with anything else a bonus.

4th November 2019 at 11:55 am #51863It’s not that this Chelsea team have come out of the block and hit the ground running and started winning games. Chelsea have already lost 4 games this season. we have lost twice at home, but we are still moving in the right direction. we are not yet where we want to be. for example our players are too inexperienced to face top six teams. also our defence is improving but still there are moments of lapse in concentration and we are conceded 17 goals already this season. so it’s not where Frank wants them to be.
I have to say, that i’m surprised with Abraham, Tomori and Mount and how quickly they have settled. goal scoring has been our problem in the last two seasons. we seem to have resolved. we were dependent on Hazard in the last two seasons, yet this Frank team goals are coming from every corner. Can this Chelsea football club improve? probably yes! will we have rouggh times? yes at some point. but right now the signs are positive.

4th November 2019 at 1:08 pm #51864A major test on the horizon in a few weeks time away at City however I feared Liverpool and we came through two matches against them with dignity and were unlucky in both, at times on top. Be happy to get City out of the way without a nasty tonking. Rudiger and Kante should be back by then which will be a major plus and not before time.

4th November 2019 at 2:28 pm #51868Next up for Chelsea is Ajax at home. It’s a very tough game and Chelsea will have to be at least as good as they were in the away game to get a positive result.
Three players were back with the rest of the squad today as NβGolo Kante, Ross Barkley and Andreas Christensen all trained.
However, Antonio Rudiger and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were still missing from training.
Very good news on Kante.

4th November 2019 at 6:11 pm #51874AnonymousTotal waste of time and expense appealing for a 1 window mid season ban. Ridiculous no need for it whatsoever. Proves there’s still something not right at the club.

I can understand why the club would want to appeal. on top of being allowed to sign players, it would be also nice to exonorate ourselves from some of the blame. and that is why the club are pushing for this appeal._____________________________

4th November 2019 at 7:34 pm #51879CM I don’t know if exonerating the club is the reason cause we are guilty as sure as we are still living. A list of misdemeanours that long can’t be all fabricated. Also the reason why Emanalo left. I think they intend buy in January though I’m not sure for what position as we seem to have suitable cover everywhere. I don’t think it’s necesarry either unless we intend to challenge Liverpool and City then it is, but who would they be able to get that could make that difference?

4th November 2019 at 8:22 pm #51881If we go out and succeed in overturning one window. it means we are exonerated half of what we are accused right? nothing is overturned without some sort of exoneration. so that is what the club is thinking, it also affects our future should we be accused the club can point that we were once exonerated this kind of offence. so don’t underestimate these kind of things.

4th November 2019 at 8:55 pm #51883Whilst getting the ban reduced would be a bit of a victory against the governing bodies, not getting overturned would set a precedent for any other club that breaks the rules.
However, personally I would prefer us not to buy in a January as the players that are currently missing would be like new signings but without the settling in period. It also gives Frank and Jody a chance to evaluate the full squad in match situations over the second half of the season. That then gives them the time to evaluate what positions need cover, what positions need an upgrade, who they deem surplus, but more importantly, who they need to keep happy….Pagan
