28th December 2019 at 6:31 am #57495An opportunity for redemption against another arch enemy in Arsenal on Sunday. It worked against Spuds so expect a victory here. Their defence with Socratis and Luiz should guarantee plenty of opportunities. Our lads just have to take them.

28th December 2019 at 8:17 am #5749967, Arsenal away will be a tough game imo as it’s Arteta’s first home game in charge but a team coming on to us as Arsenal will surely do suits us better than the teams that sit in just as long as we don’t make any defensive Bo bo’s
Stick with 3/4/3 hopefully Alonso is fit Kovacic and Mount to start in place of CHO and Jorginho and keep everything crossed.?

28th December 2019 at 8:21 am #57500“Chelsea have reportedly identified Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ebere Eze as a potential addition during the January transfer window.
With their transfer ban having previously been lifted, Chelsea are free to make new signings at the midway point of the campaign, armed with funds raised from the sales of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata.
While Frank Lampard is said to be eyeing established world-class players, it appears that the Blues are also considering moves for prospects who they feel have the potential to make the step-up at Stamford Bridge.” ???
Saw Eze play at Ashton Gate and he was very impressive probably gettable and young but we’ll see.

28th December 2019 at 8:34 am #57502Chelsea Newsโs prediction?
โFrank Lampard has some major decisions to make tomorrow. Will he stick with the 3 at the back and use 3-4-3 formation again?
Or will he revert back to the more familiar 4-3-3, or 4-2-3-1, as he did when things werenโt going to plan against Southampton this week?
I believe that we will see a 4-2-3-1 formation with Mason Mount returning to the starting line up, as well as the welcome return for the suspended Mateo Kovacic.
Predicted Chelsea Xl to face Arsenal (4-2-3-1) โ
Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Tomori, Emerson. Kovacic, Kante. Pulisic, Mount, Willian. Abraham.โ

29th December 2019 at 9:50 am #57531It will be interesting from a Chelsea supporters’ perspective watching David Luiz as an opponent today. The day he left I chuckled that Arsenal with all their defensive issues would sign Luiz who himself has some defensive lapses in his locker which we may well expose. Can’t wait for it. 4 hours 10 minutes to kick off and counting. 1am kick off here but I’ll be up and ready.

31st December 2019 at 12:58 am #57640Can anyone explain how we retained eleven on the pitch? Forever grateful to the benevolent referee but what Jorginho did twice had to equate to a yellow on both occasions surely. Guilty on one count but not the other and it is a yellow card offence 100% of the time isn’t it.

31st December 2019 at 8:21 am #57641“Chelsea will offer academy products Reece James and Tammy Abraham new bumper contracts in the new year.
Abraham, who scored the winner against Arsenal on Sunday, has been prolific this season leading the line for Frank Lampard’s Blues.
James, 20, has played 17 games in all competitions and he is contracted to the club until 2022 but Chelsea want to pre-empt any problems by handing him a pay boost and extending his deal further still.
Abraham also has two-and-a-half years remaining but his value would have skyrocketed off the back of his 14 goals and five assists this season.”
Negotiations have seemingly as expected been coloured by the CHO contract offer but we need to get both signed up soonest together with Lamptey.

31st December 2019 at 11:13 am #57648“It was an amazing moment to make my debut,โ said the 19-year-old. โIโm just really happy to help the team and contribute to a fantastic win. I have no words for it really, it just feels incredible.โ
Lampard credited his assistants, Jody Morris and Joe Edwards, for convincing him that the youngster was ready for such a high-stakes introduction. Edwards has worked with the diminutive full-back in recent seasons with our development squad and coached him throughout the Academy age groups, while Morris won the FA Youth Cup and Under-18 Premier League in 2017/18 with Lamptey in his team.
โThey said believe in him, trust in him, because they did and I listened to that,โ said Lampard of his staffโs input. โMy question to Jody when he came on was has he got the confidence and the personality to deal with this, and Jody said yeah, no problem.โ
The Hillingdon-born defender revealed his bossโs calming words before sending him into the action and how his Christmas break had been cut short in dramatic fashion.
โMy heart was racing,โ he recalled of the seconds before coming on. โI was thinking this is the moment me and my family have been waiting for because everyone knows I joined the club at the age of eight. Frank just told me to be myself, play my normal game, go out and enjoy it.
โYou have to always be ready because in a game like that things can turn around so quickly. Iโm just happy to have contributed and helped the team win such an amazing game.
โFunnily enough, I got the text on Friday to say they needed me in and I was just with some friends and family. I trained on Saturday and then travelled with the team but I wasnโt expecting that so I have to say thank you to the manager for showing the belief and trust in me. Iโm just happy I could help the team.โ TARIQ LAMPTEY

31st December 2019 at 4:58 pm #57665Everyone in the media is saying that Jorginho shouldn’t have been on the pitch to score that goal. would Guendouzi been on the pitch for Jorginho to commit that foul had the referee applied the rules when he pulled the shirt of Abraham in the box when he has already been booked moments earlier? don’t always set up a purity test that you cannot pass. Jorginho was lucky to be on the pitch yes. also Guendouzi was also lucky to be on the pitch and Arsenal would have conceded a penalty.
