442, why the groans? This is a huge transitional period for Chelsea. There is going to be set backs along the way
You can see Chelsea are trying f to play high octane football. You can see improvement and you can what Lampard is trying to do. What style of play etc and he’s only there 6 months.
The same can’t be said about ole who is at utd for a year. Utd have no style of play. Chelsea do

5th December 2019 at 12:25 pm #55576AnonymousSean… I said at the start of the season the defence was going to be an issue. It still is… We’re just defending better from the front. I think there were far too many crosses being allowed into the box last night from either flank. ( guess its trying to defend compactly) Villa’s goal should have been cut out from there, it wasn’t, then Trezuguet had the time for the ball to hit him on the face and bobble off his shin. I had a chuckle it was so comical. It was similar in the second half too, so when Villas manager says they grew into both halves, they really did.
But it was the five minutes before the goal where villa got on the ball and used it really well and Chelsea were trying to pass it out from obscure positions along the back line. Sometimes you simply need to hoof the ball clear. If im being super critical, Id argue the likes of Tammy, Pulisic and Willian (my mom last night) along with mount need to drop deeper and wider. At times only Kante was back and it looked disjointed.
TBH – if we score more than concede fans will be happy. Three points last night and one the evidence, Villa have a little more than others so should be ok. McGinn is a useful player so between him and Grealish, they will have enough to stay up.

5th December 2019 at 12:39 pm #55577It took klopp 3 years to get Liverpool’s defence right 442 mate. Vvd was a huge part of that but it also took years of coaching. We used to concede all the time from set plays but now when the opposition have a corner, I think of it as a chance for us to score. Very much like what happened last night for manes goal
We defend high from set plays and open play. It’s risky but 90% of the time we get it right. That took a longtime to get right as often some players would not push out etc
Rudiger is a very good defender. Tomori is only 21. James is young. So much talent there but patience is needed. It will take more then 4 months for frank to get the defence right. Chelsea are nailed on for 4th. You are seeing progress mate so I wouldn’t be over critical

6th December 2019 at 6:56 am #55631Well, every coach under Roman has a legacy that they leave here to be remembered. but quite a few stand out. and here are they:
1. Jose Mourinho- the first coach to win the league for Chelsea more half a century. it is a legacy that will forever remain in the hearts of every Chelsea fan.
2. Carlo Ancelotti – he will also be remembered for being the cosch that has won our first double. again another milestone moment for Chelsea football club.
3.Roberto Di Mateo – the first coach who have won our one and only champions league. no one will easily forget this historic moments.
4. Rafa Benitez- the first coach to have won the Europa league for Chelsea.
5. now the fifth place will go to our own Frank. he will be remembered for the first coach who has opened the first team route for our rich academy. he has given us more than we have bargained for. i know some will say i’m getting carried away. but i have every reason to be thankful to Frank. he has restored my faith in our youth system. win or lose i will forever remember be thankful to him.and by the way, i apologize if some may be offended with my emotional post.?

6th December 2019 at 8:26 am #55638“If the ban is lifted and that gives them an unfair advantage to the other teams then I don’t think that’s right. They need to serve the correct time for the judgment,” Carlton Cole putting aside the fact that he was a Chelsea player born and bred what a strange comment it just doesn’t make sense.

6th December 2019 at 8:47 am #55646i think the ban should remain in place, it should then be extended for a further 16 transfer windows….that means around year 14/15 my team might have done enough to get on terms with them 🙂

6th December 2019 at 2:39 pm #556779, I don’t think it’s any tougher to get a player if you have the cash to spend and you spend early, what it is difficult to do is get a player of the caliber we need that isn’t restricted from playing in certain competitions….Pagan

6th December 2019 at 2:48 pm #55678Pagan, that’s true but equally mid season even for a significant bid why would Leicester City for instance risk their title/top 4 challenge by selling one of their best players to a fellow top 4 challenger who they may not be able to replace with a suitable replacement.
The Summer is always an easier period to do significant transfers in but let’s see, a couple of the right signings would considerably strengthen our too 4 challenge if we could get them.

6th December 2019 at 3:06 pm #556899, Summer or Winter no one wants to sell their best players, especially to a competitor, hence I think anyone of significance will come from abroad. Obviously if you sell a £60m player you can get a £90m one for £30m.
The only real difference between summer and winter transfer wise (Discounting being cup tied) is the length of the window, but then the majority seem to leave it until the last minute anyway, something I’ve never been able to understand. Get who’s you want in early, sell who you want early, then take the phone off the hook…Pagan

6th December 2019 at 3:12 pm #55692Pagan, allegedly Chillwell is on Frank’s wish list.
As Frank said “Lampard on January window “It doesn’t matter if it is January or July, if a player is going to improve the squad then it is the right moment.” let’s see what we can do in January.
A couple of the right players signed in January to strengthen the team/squad would undoubtedly help to strengthen our top 4 challenge. Cheers 9’s

6th December 2019 at 3:25 pm #55694If we’re going to get anyone from Leicester it should be their head scout, they’ve sold a lot of players for a lot of money that they paid very little money for…Pagan

6th December 2019 at 6:10 pm #55714I hope we don’t desert our recent policy of using young players. because the young players will give you what you can’t get from established stars which is a loyalty to the club. i wouldn’t like to see us to go back to the crazy spending. just sign one or two world class stars.

7th December 2019 at 2:13 pm #55768Please a new Keeper and two Centre backs in January? Kepa is frustrating at this rate. and Christensen needs to be sold in the summer. keep others as backup.

Architects of our own downfall. We need Rudiger back and the defence needs attention.

7th December 2019 at 2:26 pm #55775CM, your last two posts on here seem to be at odds with each other. 2 centre backs and a keeper, that’s £200m and we haven’t got a second striker or replaced Pedro and Willian.
The youngsters need to play to develop, a striker can make a dozen mistakes and it’s frustrating, a defender or goalkeeper makes a mistake and you concede….Pagan

Kepa isn’t young any more. at 25 if he is making that kind of mistakes week in week out. i would rather have a commanding keeper. and Zouma is also at 25 he is not doing well. we are missing Tomori more than Rudiger in my opinion.

7th December 2019 at 2:50 pm #55781It’s difficult to judge the centre backs and keepers, this is their first season as a unit, as I’ve said before, we have talented players, just no leaders….Pagan
