Problem is Bat’s and Giroud are too unreliable in the EPL, we need a proper striker who can compete with Tammy otherwise may as well promote another youth prodigy but there’s no sense in playing older players just for the sake of giving them a game. Also Mount needs a break his too young to play so much consecutive games and his game has dropped off quite a bit lately. We need RLC and Rudiger back in a hurry.

I think you’re probably right there Blaze but I would still have played Michy yesterday.

1st December 2019 at 8:36 pm #55097The full Frank quote is worth reading.
Itβs not down to one player,β Lampard said. βWe didnβt have enough quality in the final third. My gripe this season is that we are not converting enough chances.
βGenerally, collectively we could have handled that game better. This isnβt the worst thing for us as long as we react in the right way.β
Giroudβs inclusion was one of five changes to the side that had drawn 2-2 in the Mestalla on Wednesday night, but while several fringe players missed out on the chance to impress, Lampard defended his decision to rotate.
βTammy was enforced,β he added. βAt the same time I have to think about the squad and when we have a taxing game, I have to think about how fresh we are right now. When we had a really taxing game where we give everything physically and arrive back late, I have to think about how fresh we can be.
βWeβre not going to get through this season with the same 10 or 11 players.β

1st December 2019 at 8:42 pm #55099Well to be honest if heβs thinking about using 10 or 11 players then I think weβve found one problem I can help with, use 11???……Pagan

2nd December 2019 at 11:00 am #55133AnonymousAnyone else think we might be entering the usual November/December form downturn?
We were pretty awful against Valencia and somehow came away with a draw, and we were dire on Saturday.
We should have beaten the hammers, instead, Spurs pulled us back to a six point gap as have Wolves.
Lampard will know from his time as a player, momentum is key, and you play your best players at all times… Just look at that angry middle aged Italian coach Conte. Not rested any of his players since the start of the season. Jose is the same. Carlo and all the managers who won trophies at Chelsea keep the same starting 11. These are very young men, will run all day, have very quick powers of recovery.

3rd December 2019 at 1:41 pm #55303Rumour doing the rounds at Bristol City is that Chelsea agreed to sell them Jay Da Silva and Kasey Palmer if City signed Massengo from Monaco for Chelsea because of Chelsea’s transfer ban he does look a fantastic prospect???
“Bristol City have completed the signing of young midfielder Han-Noah Massengo, who arrives in BS3 on a four-year contract.
Frenchman Massengo, 18, arrives from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco where he graced the UEFA Champions League. He was the first player to be born in the 21st Century to play in Europeβs largest club competition.
He made six appearances last season upon his call-up from Monacoβs B side.”

3rd December 2019 at 2:28 pm #55315I didn’t have a problem with Giroud playing, as long as we adapted to his strengths. I saw that we crossed the ball more when he came off than when he was on the pitch. Also Bats is hugely frustrating. He spends a large amount of time offside. Against City i think he was flagged 6 times from us having the ball in defence…
Again this result strengthens my argument that we need a couple of high calibre players straight in to our first 11 and then a couple of really good players for our squad in order to compete with Liverpool and City

3rd December 2019 at 3:00 pm #55324Tough game tomorrow night Villa will sit deep with 10 men behind the ball and try and catch Chelsea on the breakn and they have some quality to do that and on set pieces.
The plus points are we will be better rested than we were after the Valencia CL away game where we didnβt get back until the early hours of Thursday morning after a very physically challenging game with West Ham having a full week of rest and time to prepare for our game. And we will field a stronger team than we did v West Ham too.
Similar game to the Palace game imo and JT knows us well.
Fingers crossed for 3 points

3rd December 2019 at 5:38 pm #55360AnonymousAMZ… you would be desperately upset if you paid to watch him against West Ham and ill be desperately unhappy if he starts tomorrow against Villa. Giroud walked around the park and the ball bounced off him like he’s a wall with a goalpost painted on it over the weekend. Raid the youth team for someone who can run and pay up his contract and ship him off Tomorrow….
A five year old I know would beat Giroud in a foot race. Worryingly, he was bullied off the ball too In the game.
I expect three points, I dont expect Giroud to start.

5th December 2019 at 9:32 am #55510βThe best team won on the night. We grew into each half. Disappointed with the manner of the goals, two crosses.
βWe want to be a passing and moving team, but we didnβt move it quick enough.
βWe sat off too much and allowed them to play. Heaton made a superb save from the free-kick.β
βI thought there were three Kanteβs on the pitch. Chelsea have top players,β

5th December 2019 at 10:56 am #55528AnonymousTammy back last night made a huge difference going forward. Even Michy was pressing when subbed on.
James and Dave as fullbacks worked for me, but we seem to have a soft underbelly and I think our defenders simply have to be nastier, harder, and all round meaner.I think Adding Lys Mousset to our attacking options would be a great signing come the end of season. I’d even possibly look at Solanke who knows the team emerging at the bridge if he didn’t burn his leaving.
Left back. Dave is great, but who else can we use in future? I think Christiensenn needs to be moved on, I like him, but in four years he’s never cemented his place and Im not sure will remain I the side when Rudiger is back. Wonderful times to be along at the bridge.

5th December 2019 at 11:28 am #55541Chelsea are going to drop points like West Ham as they are going through a huge transition period
You can only applaud the job frank is doing. Heβs improving players. Young lads look really good and will Only get better.
Donβt take this the wrong way! Frank had made Chelsea a bit likeable these days ?
Chelsea fans in here are great though. Add a lot to the forum which seems to be growing more and more

5th December 2019 at 11:41 am #55550AnonymousSean, not overly bothered if we’re liked or not, I just want to see bright attractive football. There were groans last night when we conceded… We all knew it was coming… Got to say, I’d love to see an England midfield with Mount and Grealish in it. The Villa captain just didnt give away the ball last night. his round the corner ball carved us open for them to equalise. Really impressive player and he turned Kante a couple of times. Southgate can do a lot worse than pick him and if he was less than Sancho to buy, I think he’s every bit as good and could see him doing very well in Lampard’s side.
Anyhow, Still think top 4 will be difficult this season. Fingers crossed we get there. I just wonder how long before Abraham pushes Kanne out of the England starting 11… not for a while as he has lots of learning to do, but it wont be long.
