Not only Pedro Amz, we would also need to replace Willian who is reported to be stalling the new deal. i would like a left footed winger to compliment Pulisic and Hudson Odoi. as for Chilwell, we can at least now forget him, i can’t see Leicester letting him. and if they get a champions league football, we may as well say goodbye to him. i hear Napoli are struggling in Serie A which may suggest that Koulibaily isn’t pulling any trees in Serie A. if Rudiger returns fit, and Tomori and Zouma continue their development. i can only see us not spending in that department. also i would stick with Abraham regardless of his background. he seem to be doing the business for us. and his second season will be better.

25th November 2019 at 2:26 pm #54253Cman, Giroud will go possibly in January and Michy realistically is not a top 4 striker so Tammy will need a bit of help up front.

25th November 2019 at 2:35 pm #54256CM – We definitely need another striker. Tammy sometimes fades in games. City game is a prime example so Lamps took him off and Batman spent his game time frustratingly offside!
As for a left footed winger, i can’t think any decent ones other than Ziyech. On the ball i am not confident with Zouma, and while Napoli might be struggling, you cant pin it down to one player who has been consistent the past 6 years.
I reckon Β£55m would get Chilwell, might not be easy. Otherwise the only other LB worth getting is Alex Sandro.
As i said many times, if we want to win trophies we need to upgrade on certain players.
In terms of funds:
Chilwell Β£55m
Koulibaily Β£75m
M-Savic Β£80
Sancho Β£110m
Werner Β£60m
Β£380mΒ£30m Barkley
Β£5m Pedro
Β£30m Christensen
Β£30m Alonso
Β£95mThen we have Zappacosta, Van Ginkel and a couple of others we can sell to increase more funds.
plus money from Hazard and unspent money in summer and probably this winter.Doable but probably won’t get everyone.
Realistically Koulibaily, Chilwell and Werner

25th November 2019 at 2:48 pm #54261Good shout there Amz on Ziyech! i’m an admirer of him. the lad is a pure genius and him coming to his prime will benefit Chelsea both quality and in experience wise. and he is one i would like to have him at Chelsea and replace him with Willian should he opt not to sign a new deal.
As for Koulibaily the Napoli chairman is a tough man to negotiate with. and i wouldn’t want to overpay a player who is closer to the 30s. Chilwell i would be more than happy as i feel he is an upgrade to our existing LBs, although i would give Emerson he benefit of doubt having returned from injury recently and still not up to the speed of the game. but if he can recapture the early season form he had, he will be a good option.
Werner is a good striker. but not sure if Bayern are not in for him. because any German player who Bayern wants would not go out.

26th November 2019 at 8:38 am #54338We still need Willian, hopefully he signs a 2 yr extension. He can play as a number 10 as well when needed.
Can’t see Werner going to Bayern as long as Lewandowski is still there firing in goals. While we have Tammy, Werner would see that as a battle he could potentially win.

26th November 2019 at 9:00 am #54343Chelsea’s policy now is to bring in players for the long term so Koulibaily is I think almost 30, plus am expecting Giroud, Pedro and Willian to leave and 1 or 2 others that are not able to make it. Some more good youngsters are making claims so they need to be harnessed as well, think we still need suitable competitiom for a few places including the keeper. Our current reserve strength is good but not world class or even just below.

26th November 2019 at 10:59 am #54357Blaze yes you are right about 30yr olds, but we don’t have many players at that age around and the next few experienced players are 29, then around 26 so i’d expect the club to keep Willian and let Pedro and Giroud go.
Regarding Koulibaily, while he will be 30 next season, we can still get 3 good years out of him. Maybe with his age we can get him for a cheaper price. Otherwise i can’t think of any outstanding CBs that would be realistic to buy that would be an outstanding player in our first team.
Also i am slightly concerned about Kepa. He is relatively young but he hasn’t really stood out like Cech did in his young days and like Alison and DDG has.

26th November 2019 at 1:18 pm #54370I think Ake with the Β£40m buy back fee would be a good signing we shouldn’t have let him go imo.
Isn’t Koulibaly’s fee due to rise to 150m Euros. What a bargain VVD was.?

26th November 2019 at 2:31 pm #54387If Im allowed to contribute a bit to this thread lads,K2 will be 29 very soon and carried a pricetag of well over Β£100m.Could save your club a fortune going for someone much younger, someone like Coyuncy of Lesta,N.Milenkovic of Fiorentian,or that R.Dias of Benfica. If Lamps sells Giroud then he should go for someone like Haaland, the lad looks a beast and its going to be one of the best in the near future.Chilwell is already a class act.and I believe that Sancho wants out of the BL,so would represent an amazing addition so the team.Very young and could be part of the team for @ least the next 10 years.Ziyech & Neres are brilliant players, absolutely love watching em play, and both Pedro & Willian need replacing. But,boy, isnt Lamps doing a fanstastic job with youth!!!

26th November 2019 at 2:55 pm #54392I think Frank will go more young and upcoming in the transfer market when he’s a position to spend rather than older and established that’s where I think his emphasis will be.
Starting with Mbappe!?

26th November 2019 at 3:27 pm #54398999 i actually disagree. I think frank will buy 1 or 2 ready made players. He is aware of where we need to strengthen.
Frank will use our academy for up coming players, the only 2 british players he’d go for and which we are linked with are Chilwell and Sancho

26th November 2019 at 4:58 pm #54409Amz, I’m not ruling Frank signing established players mate I just think his emphasis will be on younger players who would be greater value of money for the Club.
I don’t think Frank would sign Koulibaly for instance for circa Β£100m,I just think he will be more attracted to younger players like Sancho etc.
It’s going to be interesting though over the next few windows. Cheers 9’s

26th November 2019 at 6:20 pm #54423Koulibaily (Christensen), Chilwell (Alonso), Milinkovic-Savic (Barkley), Sancho (Pedro) Werner (Giroud).
That would be awesome AMZ, if we can sell enough players for their value we might be able to manage it in theory, although in practice I would be happy with 3 players of that quality between now and August.
FYI, werner has 6 months left on his contract, free in summer or 30m release clause for Jan. We wouldnt be the only ones in for him though, so while he is my choice too, dont see it happening.
Would like Chilwell too, but I am sure Leicester would reject the 55m you estimated his fee to be. He would prob be 65m+ and considering we have plenty of young english player already I think the sensible thing for the club to do is look abroad for the positions we need filling so we dont have to pay the premium that always comes with buying an english player.

26th November 2019 at 6:46 pm #54427“Corriero dello Sport claiming that Koulibaly will have a β¬150m release clause in his contract next summer 2019 which is active only for overseas sides.” ???
If the above is accurate and he’s contracted until 2023 I can’t see Roman agreeing to pay that sort of money for a 29 year old.
Also De Laurentiis is a nightmare to negotiate with a la Sarri.
Great player though probably the best Centre back anyone could buy and Napoli is not a happy camp currently. You can never say never.?

26th November 2019 at 6:51 pm #54428LD, sorry to say but Timo Werner signed a contract earlier in the season till 2023. Very heavily linked with Munich, with Haaland going to Leipzig for 25m as part of their shared ownership situation.
