It is starting to have that feeling of Moyes at Utd. I think Boehly changed too much too soon.

21st February 2023 at 12:51 pm #204631Yeah I agree Mikus. I sense a bit of naivety which is probably inevitable in owners who are new to football.

21st February 2023 at 4:42 pm #204636I very much doubt the Pochettino rumour it would have been headline news were it true.

23rd February 2023 at 12:55 am #204700Potter replaced Tuchel as he was considered the man that bought into Boehly’s vision and Tuchel wasn’t the right man. Hardly about to replace Potter anytime soon. The owners expected it to be tough initially but some of our supporters have been spoilt way too long and know very little else. Others have been through the bad and tough times and, while we don’t like the current situation are more open minded. Too many lack patience and that does not include present company on Footy Debate.. The masses on platforms like Twitter are toxic.

23rd February 2023 at 6:04 am #2047021967 completely agree. No way they’re getting rid of Potter so soon. As you say, you hire a manager like Potter then you know it’s a long term project. They’ve clearly planned the side and the backroom/boardroom staff around Potter’s vision so to get rid of him a few months later would be absolutely crazy.

26th February 2023 at 11:15 am #204798Extremely disappointed to hear he and his family are getting death threats. Surely these fools are trackable and will face the full force of the law. Apparently he was receiving emails. Wow, DNA all over those and the individual identifiable quite easily.

28th February 2023 at 1:42 am #204867I see on the other site it is a Potter free for all now and the one that was primarily focused on an agenda is not party to it anymore. Chris is an excellent contributor on that site and well respected but for that campaign. He now has many there onside it appears, not his doing, but the ongoing poor form and results. I still hope beyond hope that these blokes click into gear and start winning to take some pressure off. That group of players should be winning 90% of matches. If, after all, the weight of blame is with Potter then maybe the change has to be made and then with it some stability there within the club and ALSO within its fan base at which time I will resume posting there on TeamTalk. In the meantime this will do me just fine 999 and in time I will probably run with both sites as a contributor π

28th February 2023 at 2:46 am #204870π¨ Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital want to give time to Graham Potter; they are aware the six January signings have made the squad bloated.
The owners also want to give him a pre-season with the addition of Christopher Nkunku in attack.#CFC

5th March 2023 at 10:49 pm #205051Equal second best defence in the League with Arsenal and Manchester City only conceding 25 goals and only behind Newcastle which has only conceded an incredible 17 goals. Problem is only 13th in goals scored and it is those that win matches and points. Something to build on and the potential to get back to former glories including top four finishes. It is not all doom and gloom but the majority of performances have been depressing as the players continue to look like strangers at times with little understanding or cohesion. I do understand where everybody is coming from with all their frustration but to point the bone wholly and solely at Potter is simply unfair in my books. Will a proper number nine make all the difference? Well keep picking Aubabeyang from the very start week after week as he has been with Havertz (in replacement) and let us find out.

5th March 2023 at 10:54 pm #205055We will need to be a much tighter and more cohesive unit before we can challenge for anything 67 so I think you are right, while a proper striker would be great, it won’t matter much unless a lot of other things are sorted.

5th March 2023 at 11:26 pm #205062Right now though where we are at and the personnel we have got why Havertz instead of Aubabeyang from the start game after game? Surely Auba could knock in the odd goa compared to Havertz. Also get Kante back as soon as he is ready to go (not far off apparently) and move Enzo futher up the field in a more attacking role.

6th March 2023 at 8:21 am #205066Fewest goals for of any team in the top 10 coupled with the joint fewest goals against of any team in the PL tells us where the problem lies a striker who can score goals will go a long way to overcoming that.

6th March 2023 at 12:18 pm #205092So Auba (who is more of a recognised strike) not worth trying for a string of games from the very start in place of Havertz who does not appear after multiple opportunities have a clue but Potter keeps playing him as a false nine which appears a waste of time?

6th March 2023 at 8:51 pm #205112Loftus Cheek : βA team like Chelsea, we canβt accept mediocrity. We understand we have been mediocre in this recent run, and we are not just accepting itβ
βIt might look like that from the outside, but that is not the case. We are hurting from the losses and the draws, because it is not in us as Chelsea players and we are fighting our hardest to turn it aroundβ

8th March 2023 at 2:11 am #205199Way too early to suggest any turning of the tide. Leeds win 1-0 was still clunky and desperate, a real relegation type of battle but today and Dortmund a side that led 1-0 after the first leg and were on a super unbeaten run. Well that was gutsy. Sure, fortunate re the penalty and then the retake but Havertz also hit a post in general play and overall we created much more than them in this match and our defence generally solid. Cucurella played in a back three was a much better player. Leicester away coming up won’t be easy neither so lets see how that one unfolds. Maybe our fortunes are changing. I can’t wait for Kante to come back and free up Enzo a bit. We might then really be on to something.

8th March 2023 at 10:07 am #205204Yeah Cucurella was fantastic at left centre back last night 67, absolutely faultless and started a lot of our attacks with good balls down the channels.

12th March 2023 at 5:01 am #205301Last 3 WWW Goals for 6 Against 1. The green shoots are starting to appear and some consistency. All because the reports out there were that Leeds and Dortmund were do or die for Potter. Potter reverted to a back three and the players responded, less changes than previously and out of nowhere we are heading in the right direction. Who to praise? You’d struggle to get anyone with an agenda to rethink. That is why I basically will only post here for the time being.
