Ditto Lucky. We might have to reintroduce some of the rested players to have any sort of chance.

It’s partly the midfield two as well, Zenith are going through us like a knife through butter and 2-1 is flattering us.

Well that was poor after the best of starts

Two major issues in this game, defensively we are extremely vulnerable, without proper wing backs its just the back 3 holding it down and they have been torn to shreds..and once again we see that when we start timo and lukaku we create much fewer chances…

Normally don’t care about finishing 1st in group but with the other 3 English sides winning their groups the odds of us getting PSG, Real or Munich are very high if we finish 2nd.

Hope for improvement in second half

We were awful defensively today, last minute equaliser could suggest we were unlucky to lose but were it not for kepa we wouldn’t even have come away with a point and I am under no illusion whatsoever we didn’t deserve to win tonight.

So Chelsea can only be drawn against 4 teams, Bayern, Ajax, Real or Lille, assuming Lille end up top? Except for Bayern not too bad though obviously they all tricky.

Rover the teams that are ending up 2nd are not exactly easy either so I don’t think Chelsea coming 1st or 2nd makes too much difference in terms of opponents drawn. As you say if we can avoid Bayern Munich, Real Madrid are top of their league but it’s possibly the weakest le liga for a long time, Ajax have won all their games and are always a threat but rather them or Lille.

I know why Tuchel went the way he did in terms of team selection and we were unlucky to concede to a worldy in added time but you can’t pick a a virtual second string and hope to control the game and Chelsea never really had control of the game today.

Well done to Timo 2 goals and an assist and Kepa who had a great game he should have got the third goal though!😂😂😂

As long as we avoid Bayern finishing first or second probably won’t make a lot of difference.

Now I’m disappointed with how we played tonight defensively, but i’m pleased that our two strikers have found the net. That will be good news for me, regardless of where we finish, if we want to win the biggest prize in Europe, we have to face the best. Now we can’t face, Liverpool, City, United, PSG and Juventus. That is 90% of the tough teams, we only have Bayern Munich and Real Madrid to worry. And who knows who may get. personally, I’m most delighted that Lukaku has taken the monkey off his back, who knows if he may go on a scoring spree now. and the way Timo Werner finished his second goal has also excited me. i hope this momentum continues.

Good to see Kepa playing so well last night there have been concerns with Mendy off to the AFCON but there’s always been a good Keeper in Kepa waiting to come back out he just lost all of his confidence thankfully he seems to be back to or near his best now. Hopefully he can hold that form whilst Mendy is away at the AFCON.
