I had a bad feeling about this game Burnley are always a belligerent team and at just one nil if you don’t take your chances that’s the danger. No easy games in the PL though.
Overall though given all the injuries especially to the front line players we’ve probably done well to only drop 2 points over the games they’ve been out hopefully the international break solves that.
Whatever happens tomorrow we’ll still be top of the PL going in to the international break in November. We would have all taken that at the beginning of the season.

Don’t want Ronaldo anywhere near Chelsea. he is a disaster walking. where ever he goes these days it’s difficult to handle him. you can see Juventus are grappling with the effects of trying to please him. as he won’t allow another great player and the whole team should be built around him. That is what United is dealing, Ole has his limitations, but to be fair, United have been good and they were heading in the right direction until they brought back Ronaldo.

The club’s long term stability is more important than 3 points, the problem is that comes with Ronaldo outweighs the benefits he brings. At Chelsea we don’t have a super star, instead we have a team work. It was written in the stars for us to drop points today, whoever was there wouldn’t have made any difference. Considering Havertz hasn’t stayed in the box for much of the game except the only time he scored. If we have a presence in their box we would have walked with the 3pts.Also, Jorginho had one hell of a game today, but Kante was poor again. I think he is not still 100% match sharp after the recent illness. Chiwell was also poor by his usual high standards today. But Reece James was excellent again.
But our best player today was Hodson Odoi, he has come from along way to claim his spot in the team, and long may it last. Getting Lukaku fit is the prioty during the international break. He has had a very good resting period.

The easier run is now over. Tough run ahead, three of next four in the Premiership. We have Leicester away, United home, Watford away and West Ham away. I’d be rapt if we were still top at the end of that. Long way to go to May 2022 and I’d be disappointed if we weren’t still up there challenging right through to the finish line. I think we might finish a reasonably close run 3rd. Toss of the coin between City and Liverpool. It may well come down to which has the better run re injuries to key players. At the start of the season most on here would have taken third I reckon.

Tuchel may have done well up to now but he needs to change his tactics now and again cause opposition are not that stupid, they will find ways to better the same old formations, that was a vital 2 points lost cause we bound to lose more points against tougher teams so it is imperative that we beat these teams. So try a bit of variety Thomas every so often.

I would like to see Lukaku backed up by an attacking trio of Harvetz, Mount and Pulisic which means he would have to play a flat 4 and 2 defensive central midfielders, don’t think he will do that but against weaker teams dont see why not. Suppose as long as it’s a win it doesn’t really matter.

v Burnley Chelsea had 70% possession, 25 shots, but only 4 on target as well as 14 corners that tells you it wasn’t a tactics problem but a taking the chances created problem.
No Lukaku, no Werner, and Mount and Pulasic only fit enough for the bench with short cameo performances didn’t help.

You guys really can’t figure it out, if a team misses so many chances it’s because they not training on their finishing or not sufficiently training. So let’s be honest and stop making excuses cause it’s only bad luck if you hit the woodwork but not if you keep striking wide off the target. Tbh when Lukaku and especially Werner are playing its not much better. Hopefully they will come right but when?
