Moos, you always come across as not having too much time for Tuchel fair do’s you’re entitled to your opinion but imo losing him would set us back badly and I think the vast majority of the Chelsea fans are very supportive of him.
I agree with Lucky though I think it’s very unlikely Tuchel would go to Barca firstly he has got two and half years left on his contract which means it would probably cost Barca circa £20m in compensation and they’ve got limited funds currently. Also the task at Barca is enormous whilst Tuchel has already got Chelsea on an upward curve and because of Barca’s financial limitations his transfer expenditure at Chelsea is likely to be much greater too on top of that Tuchel seems very happy at Chelsea.
Sounds like Xavi is the most likely appointment to me too but time will tell.

29th October 2021 at 2:39 pm #187557The good news is that Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta all return to training.😊
:
“Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has been ruled out for “some weeks” after suffering a hamstring injury in training on Thursday.”2 steps forward one step backwards.😡

29th October 2021 at 3:21 pm #187561Agreed Lucky we have to try and keep Kante fit now. The forthcoming 2 week international break could help with Kovacic.

1st November 2021 at 8:51 am #187886There can be only one outcome here. Malmo are horrible. I’ll guess 3-0 in a canter. If they can be bothered it could be double that but I think they’ll go through the motions second half and focus on the weekend and Burnley.

1st November 2021 at 9:18 am #187887No injuries 67 bud, that’s all I am hoping for. We done really well without all the players out but can not afford to lose CHO or havertz to injury ahead of weekend. As Nine was saying international break after that so fingers crossed we get there with no further problems.

1st November 2021 at 10:38 am #187913Yes Lucky we cannot afford too many more injuries in some of those positions we are already light on. I reckon against this mob we could experiment with Marcos Alonso and Reece James up front and still do a number on Malmo they were that poor at the bridge. That would protect the likes of CHO and Havertz 🙂

1st November 2021 at 10:41 am #187914Let’s hope it’s a comfortable 3 points which should be enough to get us into the last 16 we’ll need more than that to win the Group though. I would settle for a narrow win and no more injuries.

1st November 2021 at 2:57 pm #187969“Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is set to make his return to action against Malmo in Tuesday’s Champions League game.
Blues boss Tomas Tuchel confirmed Pulisic, who has not played for his club since August after picking up an ankle injury during the USA’s victory over Honduras in September, will travel to Sweden, but Mount will miss out as he continues his recovery from illness.”
Sensible re Mount hopefully he should be available for Burnley and good news re Pulasic.

2nd November 2021 at 10:15 pm #188099Antonio Conte is obe of the best coaches in the world. He will drag any team he takes over upwards amd any fan would be happy to have him their club. I remember whe he came to Chelsea we had just finished 10th. And that is thw narrative that the media is preaching.
But flip the argument and say, whilst conte is undoubtedly a talebted coach, Chelsea gave him the tools to succeed. Any manager who is at Chelsea is given the tools to succeed. In 2016/17 here is the squad he had, Azpi, Luiz and Cahill un back 3, Moses, Kante Matic and Alonso in the four, and Pedro, Costa and Hazard as the front 3. He had Fabregas and Willian on the bench also. So people need to see the differences.
Now Chelsea has a coach who plays similar system, but is much superior tactically in Tuchel, and if i was given the chance today, i would pick Tuchel over Conte any day despite being a massive fan of Conte.

3rd November 2021 at 7:56 am #188116YB, Conte is a great Coach until he throws his toys out of the pram which he’s done at every Club he’s been at but he will point Spurs in the right direction.
His first season at Chelsea was great but we shouldn’t forget that although he took over a team that finished 10th in the previous season the season before that they were Champions. Conte’s second season at Chelsea was painful and the negativity in his press conferences was draining tbh I wasn’t disappointed to see the end of him in the end.
We’re in safe hands with Tuchel and he’s doing a great job integrating both the Chelsea Academy players and the players you thought might have run their course at Chelsea like RLC and even Barkley.

3rd November 2021 at 3:33 pm #188172“Alan Shearer has raved about the impact Chelsea player Reece James is starting to have at Stamford Bridge.
James, 21, has been an important player since his promotion to the first team in 2019. The right-back is in the dream position of getting to learn the art of defending from club captain Cesar Azpilicueta.
However, he’s starting to add a new element to his game under Blues manager Thomas Tuchel.
The England international is favoured in a right wing-back role in Tuchel’s system, so fans are getting to see even more of him going forward in attack.
He’s always had an eye for a cross, but his contribution in attack so far this season has been crucial. For example, he netted two stunning goals in the weekend’s 3-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.
James now has four goals and three assists in just 11 appearances across all competitions this campaign.”
Alan Shearer hailed Chelsea’s academy graduate after naming him in his Premier League team of the week Shearer also talked up Connor Gallagher who was also selected for his team of the week. ( Bring him home) 😊

3rd November 2021 at 4:25 pm #188176We are now starting to see the results of the investment in the academy, Roman has been at Chelsea just over 18 Years, obviously his first priority was a bit of success for the club, and then he started to look at the whole infrastructure of the club. You can’t just throw money at an academy, you have to get all the right people in place and only then will you get the right youngsters to go through their whole development in it. So I would think that the current batch of players coming through are the first to have had the their whole academy experience with the academy functioning at a world class level………Pagan
