That is likely true mate. I remember he was the one who priced Chelsea out of the Lukaku deal in 2017. because there were reports that Chelsea had even reached an agreement with the striker, but Mino Raiola wanted a £20m agent’s fee which Chelsea refused to agree. and that is one of the reasons why Chelsea never deals with Mino Raiola. I was reading that Lukaku has changed agents and that was why the deal has been concluded without any problem.

26th August 2021 at 8:24 am #183484This Chelsea team reminds me of a strongervversion of contes Chelsea team when they won the league. They have a bit more flair going forward now but they are so well organized all over the pitch
They seem to come out and are relentless, get a goal then relax and just manage the gane so well
Going to be so difficult to score on sat . Liverpool are still conceding chances at the back with the high line. We look stronger but this is a huge test
I’m hoping the cried really helps is and we are going to really need a top performance

26th August 2021 at 10:50 am #183500Great set of fixtures to start with when you are in very good form which, it appears, we are. Perfect time to get a swag of tough fixtures out of the way and three of them (including Arsenal) are away and good to play City at home first of all to strengthen the possibility of good point accumulation in this initial run of matches.

26th August 2021 at 10:56 am #183503I hate facing Liverpool, they are always a difficult team to play against. They play intense game, they never give you time to organise. This is where Tuchel’s credentials will be tested. The two coaches are veey good coaches, both are winners. I think it will be a very tense match. Any team can win, but Liverpool has a slight advantage by virtue of playing at home with the fan base behind them. But Tuchel will have his plan. If Kante and Jorginho are fit, then we will fine in midfield. But I hope we don’t under estimate the dangers that the Liverpool wingers and fullbacks pose and the damage they could do if we give them space to operate.

26th August 2021 at 11:23 am #183507We have to take advantage of the Liverpool high line and drop balls over the top for Werner to run on to using his speed as per our last game at Anfield that’s why Werner has to play imo also we need to put pressure on the defensive frailties that Trent Alexander sometimes displays.
Going to be very tough though because one to eleven Liverpool are a very good team with very few weaknesses.

26th August 2021 at 12:44 pm #183513By all accounts if Pulisic was fit, he would have started this game because of his technique and speed, but unfortunately Covid19 has robbed him off this opportunity. He is also a goal threat. Also Mount will also start. That makes a toss up between Havertz and Werner. I would go for Werner because of his speed.

26th August 2021 at 2:01 pm #183521“Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the permanent capture of Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, who is expected to cost around €50 million.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea’s pursuit of a new centre-back is about to come to an end as they have closed in on the capture of Jules Kounde. The Blues have reached an agreement with Sevilla over the sale of their prized defensive asset, and are expected to pay a fee of around €50 million, with additional bonuses.”_____________________________

26th August 2021 at 3:30 pm #183531Be sad to see Zouma leave Chelsea he’s got his flaws but he has always given 100% and has always played with a smile on his face.

26th August 2021 at 5:20 pm #183546Yep nine I’m sad to see him go too. Much better player than he has ever been given credit for but will certainly be a massive player for West ham. Power and pace rarely seen in a centre back of his size. He will score at least 5 from set pieces per season for them too.

26th August 2021 at 8:09 pm #183565Ngolo Kante and Eduard Mendy have also won the Uefa best midfielder and best keeper. it has been a clean swoop for Chelsea bar the defender. and I have no complaints about the winner.

26th August 2021 at 8:37 pm #183568Sounds awesome song Nine. what a rollercoaster 12 months it had been for both Jorginho and Tuchel. this time last year, many people including myself have been giving Jorginho the stick and have written him off. boy! he has proven us wrong and I wouldn’t trade him another midfielder now. thanks to Tuchel, his game has taken a notch higher. and it’s not him alone, Mount seems to have also developed his game under Tuchel, Reece James has also improved his overall game, Kante has also taken a notch higher, Havertz is also on the right track, although he is not yet there. Rudiger is among in that group, Christensen and even Kovacic has improved his ball retention. and he has revived Alonso and Azpi, Chilwell even said Tuchel has challenged him and improved him. the only two players who I felt haven’t improved under him are Pulisic and Werner. and in Pulisic case, injuries have played a part.

27th August 2021 at 2:33 pm #183631“Tuchel sat down and spoke to the media at Cobham earlier today to preview Saturday’s trip to Liverpool and the boss confirmed that Kurt Zouma will miss the Anfield clash due to personal reasons, and not due to speculation linking him with a switch to West Ham.
“I’M HAPPY WITH MY SQUAD AS IT IS BUT WE HAVE SOME IDEAS IN THE TRANSFER MARKET” | THOMAS TUCHEL
‘Kurt is not with us but it’s not because of any negotiations,’ Tuchel explained at his pre-match media briefing.‘He has some personal family issues going on and we have allowed him to travel to France to sort these out. That is why he is not with us at the moment, nothing else, and is why he won’t be involved tomorrow but I won’t lie to you, there have been some negotiations with West Ham.’
Tuchel was asked whether it was likely we could see further additions to his squad before the window closes and while remaining tight-lipped on that front, the boss did confirm that the Blues still have ‘some ideas’ with regards to new signings.
TUCHEL HAS SAID HE’S HAPPY WITH HIS SQUAD BUT HASN’T RULED OUT ADDING TO IT
‘The transfer window is not over yet and we still have some ideas,’ added the German.‘We have discussions and we are trying, but not all decisions are taken in terms of our squad. There are situations that we are aware of.
‘We don’t need something to make me happy, absolutely not because I am very happy with the squad here, I am confident that we can be competitive this season but of course, our eyes are open to what could happen before the window closes.’” Chelsea FC Official Club site.
Could be an interesting couple of days at Chelsea.

27th August 2021 at 6:22 pm #183709Let us hope we tie him immediately Nine, he has been improving as a defender under Tuchel. and he is entering his prime now. I think Tuchel will be to Christensen what Mourinho was to Terry when he first arrived at Chelsea. I believe Tuchel will have a similar impact on Christensen to the one that Mourinho had on Terry.
