I really like the movement of Werner, but at Chelsea, we don’t have someone who is in the mould of Mata or Fabregas who can find him. but Lukaku could be a game-changer for him as he will relieve a lot of pressure from him, but where does that leave for Pulisic and Ziyech? both of them are goal-scoring attacking midfielders and weed our midfielders to score more to win the league. every team that wins the league goal-scoring midfielders. I would definitely abandon the Kunde chase and instead target a creative midfielder. our defence is now sorted with Chalobah in place. so why would we spend big money on a player who is smaller and can only play at CB when Chalobah can also play at CDM. Tuchel has tough decisions to make.
I assume he likes Mount and he will play, Kante will also play, and it’s obvious Jorginho is our anchorman now. between Azpi and James, I can see James reclaiming his spot, and likewise, Chilwell has a fight in his hands with the form that Alonso is in. also Silva has a fight in his hands, given the performance of Christensen at the Euros and on Saturday. right now, the only persons whose positions are secure are Lukaku and Mendy. the rest are up for grabs.

17th August 2021 at 2:08 pm #182913West Ham are not giving up on their pursuit of Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma, though the move has hit a stumbling block over his wage demands.
David Moyes is keen to add at least one central defender before the window closes at the end of the month.
West Ham have been in talks with Chelsea over a deal for Zouma in recent weeks and the Blues are willing to offload the 26-year-old for around £25million.
But the deal has stalled over his wage demands of more than £100,000-a-week.
West Ham are operating on a limited transfer budget this summer and Zouma, who is under contract until 2023, is likely to need to drop those demands for a deal to happen.” Standard 17/08
I don’t think Chelsea will go for Kounde without Zouma moves on. Chelsea still sitting on all the money they made from the CL though so there still could be some incomings between now and the end of the Summer window?

17th August 2021 at 3:01 pm #182914Nine,
I see no reason why we should go for Kunde we already have the man in our books. he is called Trevoh Chalobah. he is two positions in one. he can also play in the CDM as well as the RCB. so I can be a cover for both Rice and Kunde. I suggest we turn our focus elsewhere in the squad. for example, a goal-scoring midfielder who is also creative._____________________________

17th August 2021 at 3:06 pm #182916Think you’re probably right YB Chalobah has changed our needs and I can now only see us going for Kounde if we have problems retaining Christiansen and Rudiger or if Zouma leave. Trust in Tommy.😊

18th August 2021 at 8:51 am #182935I hope we are not stupid to consider selling Zouma to Spurs. I remeber the Modric saga. They are the last team i would ever consider selling a virus let alone a top CB who not only can defend but can also score. For me that is a no go area. Spurs, Everton are the two teams i would hate to see us sell players to, even if we don’t want those players.
There are rumours that Kunde’s release clause will increase there the transfer deadline is near. They say it will be £77m, i can’t see Chelsea paying that amount after the emergance of Trevoh Chalobah. I suspect we will put a take or leave bid in the coming days to test their resolve.

18th August 2021 at 10:30 am #182942Yeah I agree mate, my head says if the money is good and we can get better then doesn’t matter who we sell too. If we do sell to spurs I will accept it because of that, but no way do I want him to go to spurs. He is too good for them fir a start 😉

18th August 2021 at 11:48 am #182945Cheers for that Nil.👍
YB & Lucky re Zouma I don’t think we’ll sell Zouma to Spurs West Ham’s the best option for all parties.
In respect of Kounde Chelsea need to agree a sensible price and not get caught up in Sevilla trying to up the price again, the emergence of Chalobah makes the signing of Kounde less neccessary now even should we sell Zouma. Cheers lads. 9’s

19th August 2021 at 3:02 pm #183002“Marina Gravnoskia has proved herself the master of securing the big signings. But it is Chelsea’s ability to rake in a fortune from unwanted assets that has put them in such a strong position this summer, allowing Thomas Tuchel to break the club transfer record for Romelu Lukaku, with a top-class centre-back also in his plans.
While the £97.5million capture of Lukaku so far feels like the most important signing of any Premier League club during this window, the fact Chelsea have managed to almost recoup that entire fee in sales represents remarkable business, particularly in a summer when clubs are having so many difficulties offloading highly-paid fringe players.
Expect a fire sale in the final hours of the window on August 31 as all types of compromise deals are structured just to get wages off the books.” James Robson Evening Standard.

20th August 2021 at 8:29 am #183033AnonymousOh wow, that guy was such a disgrace. That woman who would not let it go, telling him over and over for him to get out though, what a woman.
I won;’t sit here and pretend that I never criticize LFC players but you’d never catch me saying it within earshot of the player. This just reminds me of the time a “fan” really aggressively told Harry Kewell, to his face that he was shit and to piss off etc etc .. Like, really bad stuff altogether. Kewell was very much affected by it and they ended up squaring off a bit, IIRC but… man, I just felt so bad for him.
I just don’t understand these types who HATE a player because their body or their skill let’s them down at times. I guess these examples are probably sociopaths but in Kewell’s case, the lad was DEFINITELY not shit. he was such a fantastic player for Leeds. He had his moments at Anfield too of course but those constant injuries robbed him of his pace and confidence.
In Werners case, he already knows that he’s not clinical enough. It must be hard to hear this, while you’re already struggling to settle in/adapt to the PL.
The club should ban that guy from the stadium for a year. Let him learn his lesson.

22nd August 2021 at 8:03 pm #183225I’m happy for Lukaku, today was the perfect day for him. all the vultures were circling around to put pressure on him. but thankfully by opening his account on his debut, he has avoided the Werner, Torres curse which was waiting for their first goal for a few games. by hitting the ground running, he will have less press negative. I was also pleased with the clean sheet. although Arsenal was poor, our defence hasn’t given them any sniff. and credit goes to the boys. and Reece James, I love his goal celebration. anyway, our biggest test comes next weekend. let us hope we don’t lose that game.

23rd August 2021 at 1:53 am #183232Great start for Lukaku and the full 90 minutes under his belt.
We toyed with them, So confident with playing out from the back, flirting with danger yet fully in control and dominating possession. We must surely have had 70% of the ball at least. If I was an Arsenal supporter paying good money to see that performance I’d be pretty filthy about it. Really they were never at the races. We really made them look silly. If that is the best they have to offer then they are mid table at the absolute best. Men versus boys, it really was and our guys will get even better with every outing. The value of having a proven 30 goal a season beast of a striker will take us to the next level, whatever that may be.

The guy literally described his personal performance as dominant. everything else he said was fine but I do wish people would stop with that kinda stuff. Don’;t need to over-do the humble stuff either, that’s just fake but… say you thought you played well. “dominant” is cocky af.

23rd August 2021 at 6:42 am #183236There is nothing wrong with saying his performance was dominant. He didn’t mean it in a bragging manner. And i don’t know why should people be concerned about that. Unless that word is taken out of context.
