Lampard is a better man for Chelsea than Tuchel, he had a bad run like all coaches experience, Tuchels bad run will also come or maybe it’s already started, I mean to lose 5-2 at home to the 2nd bottom team is insane, there are no words.

Moos, whether or not Tuchel succeeds at Chelsea, and it’s way too early to judge him a success or a failure, that doesn’t change the fact that Lampard was way out of his depth at Chelsea.

Don’t let his legendary player status distract you from the fact that he had the lowest points per game of ANY manager under the Abramaovich era. Chelsea were getting increasingly worse the longer Lampard stayed and that’s just not acceptable with arguably the second strongest squad in the league.

Yesterday was a freak result but we won’t know until probably another year or so whether Tuchel is up to the job or not.

MistraMoos, nice to see that you base your opinion of Tommy Tickle on one game and not those that went before where the team showed progress. Every so often you get a game where everything you do doesn’t come off and everything the opponent does ends up in the back of the net, it happens to every team, you just have to pick yourself up and say “well that’s that one out of the way for the season” and get up and go again…..Pagan

Hold on lads, who would honestly argue this was not a freak result? Of course it is, but the mentality from the first whistle was really poor and we met the freak result half way its not as though WBA scored 5 by luck is it.

Never understood why defenders in top teams risk red cards against weaker teams when conceding a goal and staying 11 v 11 is the safer option, silva’s first could have been red and if the ref awarded a straight red VAR would not have overturned.

I expect the following players to come into contention v Porto to strengthen the team from the one v WBA

Christansen
Rudiger
Chilwell
Harvertz
Giroud
Mount
Gilmour

I doubt Jorginho could play as badly again but Tuchel must be pondering whether to go with Gilmour after Jorginho’s performance v WBA. I suspect he will probably stick with Jorginho on the basis of experience and that he can’t play that badly again.

I don’t know if one can defend a 5-2 home loss to one of the bottom teams, we will have to wait and see however if you have CL aspirations that was a must win. I like the fact that his giving everyone more than a few opportunities to make a case for team selection but I think now his seen enough of certain players, think we all know who they are. A defeat like that puts a downer on a Easter weekend but we move on, more important stuff on the go.

“You have to accept that you will never know what would have happened if you choose your team in a different way,’ Tuchel said.

‘It is my responsibility clearly and like my players with this loss, I am very disappointed because we hate to lose, and we went for this selection because we had an excellent training session yesterday and we had the guys on the pitch today who finished this training session yesterday. We had a lot of players yesterday who could not do the full training because of the Wednesday [international] games and the travelling, so I trusted this line-up and I think this line-up was strong enough to win this game.

‘But we were rusty, we were sloppy in the build-up in our own half, we did many unforced errors, we did not adapt our positions well under pressure and we gave away easy ball losses that led on to a red card and that cost us the game today.’

Lucky, very true mate very well summarised imo.

We are where we are it was always going to difficult to finish in the top 4 after our run of 5 losses under Frank in December and January we got ourselves back in it but it’s going to be even tougher now it’s down to the players to get us back on track from here and go on another similar run to the last one.

I have every confidence that Tuchel will put right what’s gone wrong this season with a bit if help from the Summer transfer market.

This season though this group of players shouldn’t be where they find themselves now but that’s where we are and only they can put it right.

Yeah it was a big 3 points lost yesterday nine in the context of our top 4 ambitions, 5 points on pool with the games remaining and we were odds on top 4 but 2 points and its 50/50 now which is a shame because we went from an outside bet for top 4 to odds on under tuchel and one sloppy performance has set us back

First leg of the CL Semi Final away to Real Madrid is probably Chelsea’s toughest game of the season so far until next Wednesday.😊

I think Chelsea fans need to be a bit realistic we’ve gone deep into the CL this season and further than expected given all the circumstances this might be as good as it gets but we did beat Atletico twice and stranger things have happened so here’s hoping.🤞

Predicted team (not by me) is :. Mendy; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger; James, Kante, Jorginho, Chilwell; Mount, Havertz, Werner

Which makes sense to me particularly as a false 9 worked for City v Real last season but whatever the side trust in Tommy.
