At the moment there’s no need for additional signings, obviously there will be a need to refresh the squad for next season and when there is more quality players available. Bearing also in mind Pedro, Giroud, Willian, Carabello and 1 or 2 others will probably be off.

16th November 2019 at 8:17 am #53014Connor Gallagher pinged in a superb goal just before half time for the England U21’s v Albania last night, having already earned a penalty with a vicious shot that hit the hand of an Albanian defender.
He just canโt be stopped this season! His superb Charlton form is carrying over to England, and at this rate he will be a Premier League player next season without doubt.
Heโs in this team with some of Englandโs brightest talents, including Reece James and Phil Foden, and Gallagher is looking every bit their equal right now.

16th November 2019 at 9:48 am #53017Chelsea has warned Jody Morris about his conduct, he was warned to show restraint when responding to criticism following the mocking of Mourinho by Morris. right decision from the club Imo. we need to be humble enough to take criticism.

16th November 2019 at 11:04 am #53030Connor Gallagher is a fantastic real talent, another one that we need to make space for next season. It’s going to become a problem of which of these youngsters to leave out.

16th November 2019 at 2:31 pm #53039“Itโs no surprise that Blues supporters are getting excited about his prospects after an England masterclass, as current Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has put faith in youth this season.
There is no reason why Gallagher canโt follow in the footsteps of players like Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori if he keeps progressing.
A full campaign of Championship football is a brilliant learning curve for any young player and sets them up well for the Premier League if they are good enough.
Gallagher is a composed ball-playing midfielder that reads the game so well for someone of his inexperience and loves to drive forward.”

16th November 2019 at 8:47 pm #53049I know this may not be the best place. but i was disappointed with some of the conduct of the fellow blues in the thread that was closed. i think in the future we need to behave better since this is a general page. let us raise the bar very high. or else we will ruin every thread. that also applies to the other fans as well.

17th November 2019 at 9:25 am #53059Strange that Real Madrid is said to want Hudson Odoi next summer. that is a bit of unsettling news for a young player who has just returned from a serious injury and finding their feat at the team. and what he has at Chelsea is a regular first team game time, while at Real Madrid that is not guaranteed. the pressure there is too hot for a young shoulders. i hope this will not affect his concentration as we are entering the defining period of the season.

17th November 2019 at 1:09 pm #53071Hudson-Odoi in the last few weeks has started on the bench, with Pulisic being preferred, why wouldnโt the press write a story like this, they love stirring the pot….Pagan

17th November 2019 at 1:28 pm #53072The key is in the source “Spanish publication El Desmarque says both Zidane and Perez are admirers of England international Hudson-Odoi and are keeping tabs on the teenager ahead of a potential summer swoop.”
Hudson Odoi has just signed a new 5 year contract. I reckon there’s more chance of Chelsea winning the Carabo Cup this season than there is of Chelsea agreeing to sell Hudson Odoi to anyone least of all Real Madrid.

17th November 2019 at 1:39 pm #53074“Callum Hudson-Odoi and Nick Pope will start for England against Kosovo in their final European Qualifier, Sky Sports News understands.
Pope earns his first England start, after the Burnley goalkeeper was first called up in March 2018, while Chelsea winger Hudson-Odoi makes only his second start as Gareth Southgate explores his squad options.”

17th November 2019 at 5:44 pm #53077As crazy transfer rumours go this one takes some beating.?
“Chelsea are aware of the 200 million eurosโ price tag that Paris Saint-Germain have set on Neymar, but are still optimistic of completing the signing by taking advantage of PSG and Barcaโs poor relationships. As bait, the west Londoners will offer young prospect Callum Hudson-Odoi to the Ligue 1 champions so as to soften the loss of Neymar.”

17th November 2019 at 6:57 pm #53085It has been a successful international break on the Chelsea front so far. no injuries report as opposed to last international break, two of our bright sparks of the season have scored. Hudson Odoi made a return to the England fold. only God knows how much that will improve his confidence. Willian made a return to the International fold also. barring some late bad news. this has to be a successful international break. the only negative is the Pulisic injury so far.

18th November 2019 at 7:53 am #53093If Real Madrid were watching the England game last night they might have changed their mind about Callum.?
Perhaps too much is expected of him too soon after such a difficult injury so far at Chelsea since his return we’ve only seen glimpses of what Callum can really do and there was only one such glimpse for England last night.
Callum probably needs a bit of a run in the Chelsea team right now but that’s been difficult given the recent form of Pulisic who was unfortunately injured before the international break and remains a doubt for the City game.
Whether that opens up the way for Callum is open to conjecture I can see Frank going with a midfield of Kovacic,Jorginho and Kante v City which is his favoured midfield three for the more difficult games with Mount on the bench however if Pulisic doesn’t make it on Saturday I can see Mount being selected wide left with Callum still on the bench.
Callum’s chance will come though there’s too much pace and talent for him to not ultimately come good.

18th November 2019 at 8:49 am #53096I’m sure Lampard will go for the 3 central midfielders against City which means the front 3 will probably be Willian, Mount and Abraham. Possibly Pulisic if his fit.

18th November 2019 at 10:11 am #53097I wouldn’t start Mount against City, it’s not a game where we will be on the front foot. Front 3 will be Willian Abraham Pulisic with Kov, Jorg and Kante in central midfield.

John Terry pulled plug on Chelsea’s move for Sergio Aguero before he joined Manchester City

18th November 2019 at 10:44 am #53101Amz, agree with you tactically and with the midfield 3 . Mount on the bench providing Pulisic is fit if not though I think Mount might start in place of Pulisic and ahead of CHO.
