Nine, problem is mate. We know Liverpool can collapse and concede 2 goals to anyone in a matter of minutes. That’s why I am like this

It’s just crazy that we are in this position after being 5/0 up mate.

If we do go out then what do you do or say?it be embarrassing and will show that we really are not learning from past mistakes

Players are dripping like flies. Would anyone be surprised if we finished 5th and got knocked out wed? I wouldn’t

It’s harsh on the team to think like this but it is very possible

I’m really pissed off with the two goals.
I haven’t seen cen wTched our goals again or our exceptional performance as it won’t matter a feck if we get knocked out

Sean, as a Chelsea fan I would happily take Liverpool finishing 5th as it would likely open the door to Chelsea but hand on heart I can’t see it.

But you’re right the injuries especially in midfield are a worry and it limits the opportunity to rotate and with the intensity of the coming games that’s a problem and can lead to further injuries.

Whilst I understand your concerns re the Liverpool defence which at times can look vulnerable on the plus side Roma’s defence looks much more vulnerable and with your front three that will be telling imo.

But I do get as a fan that with these games it’s difficult to be relaxed until it’s all over. And then there’s the Final to contend with! 🙂

Mak: yeah buddy that’s me, I did respond on the thread you asked but it was a bit later as I’m not on the forums as much as I used to be.
I agree with you mate, we’d have to be favourites but with LFC you just don’t know, we’ve capitulated from good positions many times & it’s made me never feel comfortable. If any team can take such an advantage & stuff it up it’s us. Their home record is awesome & after scoring 2 goals in a short time, just like West Bromwich the week before, they would take a lot of confidence from that.
TBH I’m more concerned about not getting top 4. Drop points v Stoke then Chelsea beat us, which with our injury crisis wouldn’t be surprising, & we are in trouble big time. We need top 4 if we are to progress. As Sean said it would not surprise me 1 bit if we finish 5th & don’t get C/L next season & that’s almost impossible to believe after some of the stuff we’ve put on this season.

God I’d love to be on the final again, I can still remember that bloody penalty shoot out, I was walking around hands in head every shot. I actually walked up the hallway away from the tv for the last shot & the wife said “ is it good that the players in red are going nuts”. I ran down to see little Luis in that clown hat & exploded. What a feeling.

Oz, thanks for the reply mate – hope you’re good.

Agree mate, progress being made. Rebuilding in fairness does take time, so patience is needed all round. As a ‘package’ on and off the pitch, we have a lot to offer now, and plus, we can afford to splash.

Let’s hope we go strength to strength.

That’s why I want to see as near a full strength team versus Stoke. I don’t want to be heading into the Chelsea match with the possibility of them being on our heels. We don’t need that pressure. There is no bloody way that I want us to even risk the only route back in being us having to win the bloody thing.

I do understand and also feel the same way you do regards us having this incredible ability to look like we’re about to buckle regardless of how many goals we’re up. It’s a feeling that I’ve felt less of this season though. We’re definitely going in the right direction there but we do need to be there a bit sooner now that we’re 90 minutes away from a possible final.

Christ. We’re either out of the CL or in the final in just a matter of days.

It’s been a decent CL campaign above all, and something in which to be proud of.

Obviously though now that we have taken ourselves this far, it’d be wonderful to go the whole hog with an appearance in the final at the very least.

As far as League status goes, we really should be pushing beyond 4th as a marker and an improvement overall from last season.

We should get the 3 points today that would take us to 74. 4th is sorted, but it’s nailing 3rd now at the very least.

Real were very fortunate to progress last night and despite being the holders if I was a Liverpool fan I would feel much more confident about facing Real in the Final than Bayern who pushed Real all the way despite being shirt if 5 starters.

Can only see a Real v Liverpool Final.
