Pique says I’m in pain. We all are. We can’t compete like that. It’s very, very tough to take. Nothing more is worth saying. The club needs changes. Not just the players, I don’t want to point out anyone.

“But football is a sport where change is constantly required. We must change the dynamic we are on because I believe we have just hit bottom.

“We have to look around, we have to trust that people will do the right things for the club.

“Is it an end of an era, I’m not sure? But I know that we must accept that we have hit bottom. Not just the players but, as a club, we aren’t on the right road.

“We have had years of success but we haven’t won the league and we haven’t won in Europe and we have to compete. You’ve seen it on the pitch and this today is unacceptable.”

Meanwhile, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague said the match was a consquence of years of poor management at the Nou Camp.

He said: “It is the consequence of many years of decay. Nobody has been intelligent enough to identify what is happening.

“It’s embarrassing. Barcelona changed football. That heritage has been thrown in the bin.

“Barcelona is so political and the players run the show.”

One game at a time Cityboy has to be the approach and if City come through against Lyon as I expect them too it’s another day and different curcumstances v Bayern and I think Pep will have learnt a lot from last night’s game. Best of luck anyway.

Be all change at Barca soon President, DOF and Manager and rightly so because this has been coming for a while look at the disastorous performances in Rome and at Anfield. Major rebuild is required with the squad at Barca now too starting from this Summer.

And if they want to Sign Garcia they will have to pay the right price. Also it shows to an extent why you cant keeping buying increasing debt and using current revenues to pay massively inflated wages. Covid stopped the revenue stream and in a few months Barca find themselves in serious financial difficulty with limited valuable assets to dispose of. Real are similar but not as bad.
This is such an embarrassment for them they will need a major shake up.

Adlab, Garcia wants to return to Barca he’s a Barca boy.

City can keep him for the forthcoming season if that’s what they decide to do but I’m not sure that helps either party as for a fee Garcia can sign a pre contract with Barca for free in January so there’s not going to be any great fee due to City.

Personally I’m not sure how much the addition of Garcia would solve Barca’s defensive problems but under the current regime they seem to want him but that could all change very quickly.

Aguero doesn’t sound very hopeful he’s still in Barcelona undergoing treatment following survey and he’s been out for 6/7 weeks perhaps a place on the bench v Bayern if City progress but even that may be a risk. It’s a shame because I think City will need everything they’ve got v Bayern assuming the come through v Lyon which I think they will.

Mav, of course it isn’t just the Mangers fault but he’s been a gonna before last night probably from his appointment although Barca’s problems existed long before the Setien appointment.

Barca conceded 3 goal advantages in the CL 2 seasons on the trot and last night has been coming for some time.

Thats why I suggested all of the President, DOF and Manager are likely to fall and a major rebuild is required in my post above.

Interesting times ahead for Barca and the clout Messi has in decision making at the Club has to be removed now.

With limited funds and the state of football as a whole it’s not going to be an easy job though and they might have to lean heavily on La Masia. Xavi would probably be the best managerial appointment for a rebuild as he knows the Club inside out.

Nine…I think Augerro is out for the season, cannot see how he could make next match with virtually no first team training….assuming we get through and that is not certain but hope we do.
If everything went well the best we could hope for is that he would be on the bench for the Final but then again if the current players have got us there they should be the ones that play.

Not so good from us. Lyon playing exactly as they did in the group games last season where we lost one and drew one and M Cornet scored the key goals. Not too hopeful at the moment but we will see.
