To clarify, I’m not using the fewer days rest as an excuse. I’m saying Ole should have managed the squad better prior to the semi to ensure it wasn’t an issue. Sometimes you get more days rest, sometimes less. We played the same XI far too often leading up to the Chelsea game and imo that made it a bigger challenge than had we managed the squad better.

Utd made to many changes in the fa cup semi final nine. Moved to a back 3 instead of sticking with their usual formation which had them flying.

Of course Chelsea were the better side on the sat but I think ole messed up that day

It’s an absolute disgrace the manner some teams are always awarded penalties. Something sinister on the go here. It’s just not probable.

Sean, the back 3 was a tactical decision by Ole to match Chelsea .

All teams were pushing the boundaries given the number of matches they were asked to play in such a short time hence the Pulisic and Azpilucueta injuries in the Final.

Ole made 3 or 4 changes but was confident United would progress Chelsea played well that day and Cup games are always about who plays the best on the day. Chelsea were missing their two most influential players that day too in Pulisic and Kante.

I wouldn’t have changed a winning formula is a semi final. Play your best team and formation that was winning you numerous games

Sean, yes I get that but as the Ed said United were looking tired and there were big games still to come in the PL in order to achieve a top 4 place so I can understand why Ole went the way he did whether United would have won the game had they not made those changes given how Chelsea played on the day we will never know it’s all if’s and ands mate.

“And” if Pulisic and Kante had been fit Chelsea would have had a lot stronger team on the Day.?

I tipped United to win the EL very early on but they face two very tough games now in both the Semi Final whoever gets through and the Final if Inter get there as seems likely as they are no slouches and I suspect United will have to be at their best to win it..

PSG struggled to overcome Atlanta last night and I’m not sure how PSG will do against the better Clubs they will meet in the CL going forwards.

But Mbappe changed the game last night when he came on and if he’s fit enough to start alongside Neymar who was brilliant in patches last night and they can get Di Maria fit I wouldn’t write them off just yet.

Would anyone like to see Simeone at their club? Love his passion but his style of play is horrible to watch and had he been found out recently?

Tactics worked a treat in first leg v Liverpool but we gifted them the 2nd leg

So much Talent at his disposal but plays really horrible football that’s not even successful anymore

Also that centre back if rb is the threeps has mentioned a few times. He looks a real beast

Sean, Simeone was far to wise to attack Liverpool especially at Anfield and get done on the transition which is a Liverpool strength.

He competes in La Liga with two Clubs who have significantly higher budgets and the players developed by Atletico and the desire to sign them is testimony to the job Simeone has done.

You’re right it’s not pretty at times but he has been successful given his achievements below but you do wonder after 9 years it isn’t time for him to now move on.

Nine I’m not saying he hasn’t been successful. He’s done an outstanding job mate but the way he played againest my eroool is the way his team play 90% of the time

Athletico have better players then rb yet they only tried to push forward when rb went 1-0 up

That was a huge chance to get through last night

Also athletico madrid have spent a few quid themselves. My point is, they could play more exspansive football with the players they have and ye, you could be right. Maybe it is time to move on but no doubt, he has done a brilliant job
