7th August 2020 at 10:06 pm #144508Bayern are almost through and even assuming Barcelona go through this really is the Champions League of the minnows! Out of the remaining teams only the aforementioned having any sort of pedigree. Very disappointing.

7th August 2020 at 10:11 pm #144512I think City have a real chance of winning the CL this season they can beat Lyon without Aguero but they might need him from there. Dreadful defending by Real at this level.

7th August 2020 at 10:28 pm #144525Thoroughly deserved win – absolutely bossed them second half and had we been more clinical (or less selfish) in front of goal, it would have been more comfortable.
How the hell does Verane keep Laporte out of the French team.Grow up Threeps………….or are you pissed?
“Ridiculous penalty given to Madrid. Free kick to Madrid and the shot hitβs Depayβs hand but his arms are down. Nothing he could of done but it was given”
Fyi, we played Madrid – it was Juventus that got that penalty. ?_____________________________

7th August 2020 at 10:35 pm #144532gjblues… seriously cannot have a bit of banter these days?! What’s your problem?
Yeah I made a mistake with the team, so fucking what? I watch both games on the Sky Konferenz channel which flicks between the two, easy to make a mistake.

7th August 2020 at 11:32 pm #144571Haha its actually Kolsch where I live. Tastes virtually the same as Pils to be honest but comes in funny little 200ml glasses.
Back to the topic City must really fancy their chances. I don’t rate this Barca team so I would say only psg or Bayern have a chance of stopping them. I actually have a feeling Bayern might win it, they have looked imperious for the second half of the season which was some turn around.

8th August 2020 at 8:25 am #144876Still some tough teams left in the competition Atletico ,PSG, Barca and Bayern barring shocks for City to overcome but if they remain solid defensively and perhaps get Aguero back they’ve got a real chance. Some tasty games to come in the Qtr Finals and the Semi Finals and the one off games mini tournament style will be different and interesting.
Still be very odd to see whoever wins it lift the trophy without any fans in the Stadium but we are where we are.

8th August 2020 at 10:15 pm #145400Glad I went out for a meal.?
We met up with some friends who we haven’t seen for a while lovely couple he is a great guitarist who backed big names like Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan but sadly he’s now got Alziemers and he doesn’t touch his Guitars now so sad.
I love talking to him for all his musical tales sadly that’s difficult now.
Nice meal but his illness put more than a bit of a dampner on it and then I came home to the Chelsea result!
Although it wasn’t unexpected considering everything.
Bayern look strong contenders this season.

9th August 2020 at 8:28 am #145811Some great games to come now in both the CL and the EL and this new format of a mini tournament is going to be very exciting I think.
UEFA get a lot of stick mostly rightfully so but I think they’ve got this culmination of the CL and the EL spot on and maybe it could be here to stay? Although I suspect lost revenues might rule that out.
Barca v Bayern next Friday is the stand out game there has been suggestions that Messi is over the hill and he can’t do it any more but the way he took his goal last night proved there’s life in the old dog yet. Overall though Barca are dwindling as a force and I would be suprised if they’ve got enough to see off Bayern but if Messi was to twinkle on the night you just never know.
Unfortunately for City they’ve got themselves in the toughest half of the draw and if they get past Lyon which I think they will then either Barca or more probably Bayern lie in wait for them which won’t be easy but on their day City providing they remain strong defensively are capable of beating any of the remaining teams.
