Brian, whilst I agree with you re Pep this is football and I don’t think you can rule anything out.
None of us know what’s going on in Peps mind he may want to go on and keep trying to win the CL at City even though there is a bit of a rebuilding job to do now at City or he may decide he’s gone as far as he can currently he’s got a year left on his contract he may well see that year out he may even eventually extend it.
Right now though players especially the really big ones may hold back on joining City if they don’t know who the Manager will be in a years time.
I hope Pep turns it around and he stays on at City and returns them to winning ways because being a football fan first I don’t want to remember the City of last night and the way City played and how Pep got his tactics and team selection so wrong because that wasn’t the Pep and City we’ve come to know and admire so much due to the quality of the football they’ve played and the records they have set.
But we will have to wait and see.

16th August 2020 at 5:13 pm #152795Nine…Pep has already made a public statement to say he is staying, unless City want him out, that is not going to happen either. My other points still valid in my view though

16th August 2020 at 5:25 pm #152804Brian, I’m sure that will be the case but without Pep signs a new contract I don’t think the uncertainty will help City.

16th August 2020 at 6:15 pm #152848“According to Mundo Deportivo, only five players in the squad are assured of a future at the club. Those players are Lionel Messi, Frenkie de Jong, Marc-Andrรฉ ter Stegen, Ansu Fati, and Riqui Puig, with Barcelona open to offers for every other member of the squad.”
Preety amazing if accurate and I doubt it will help heal all the rifts.

16th August 2020 at 6:22 pm #152853Moos, awarding a goal to teams with 70% possession?! ?. That’s the daftest thing I’ve heard since people linked Rafa to the Utd job. Would absolutely ruin football to do that. There are many ways to win a football game and long let that continue. The day teams just pass between themselves to get a “bonus goal” is the day I throw the towel in on the game.
Koeman linked to Barca. Can only see him, Poch or Xavi really. Allegri would be an odd appointment for them I think.
Have a bad feeling about Sevilla game. They’re a decent side and have won this loads of times. Won’t be as easy as is made out. As we’ve seen with Lyon (7th in French league) knocking out Juve and City and Atletico knocking out Liverpool, anything can happen!

16th August 2020 at 7:19 pm #152894Can only see a utd win simply because of their front 3 which is lethal and it will bring the trophy to Manchester
Iโve never been surer of anything in my whole life.

I am a member of a sizeable Whatsapp City fan group. Needless to say there’s been a hell of a lot of chat since last night’s match but I can honestly say there has not been one contributor saying Pep should go.
The CL is a massive competition, probably the biggest in world club football. However, it is not the be all or end all in football. To my mind, playing attractive football and being entertained are more important. Yes, I was bitterly disappointed last night but mainly with the way we played and the team selection. Had we gone out with ‘all guns blazing’ for the full 90 minutes, my disappointment would have been much less. Just saying.

16th August 2020 at 8:30 pm #152954Well taken goal by Sevilla but very fortunate to have got the throw in that led to the goal. VAR would have ruled it out if it was able to.

16th August 2020 at 8:37 pm #152961Yes Steve. They showed the replay. Was a definite throw to Utd but apparently it’s not within the scope of VAR so the goal stood.
Another pen would send social media into meltdown! Obvious pen, to be fair.
