27th November 2024 at 10:01 pm #216602Fantastic performance, fantastic result. Just hope the injuries aren’t serious. In Arne Slot, it increasingly looks like we’ve got a managerial combination of the high energy press of Klopp & the tactical astuteness of Benitez. Not a bad combo.

28th November 2024 at 8:41 am #216606It was a good one, for sure…
And a good night for the co-efficient table too, over 17 points to 3rd place now…

28th November 2024 at 11:25 am #216607That will take a hammering tonight when bode beat United 😆
Anyone seen the clip of pundits taking the piss on TNT to wind up Micah Richard’s talking about Brest? So childish but had me in stitches

28th November 2024 at 1:44 pm #216609Very funny clip thanks for sharing.
What’s everyone’s opinion now on the new CL format? I was skeptical at first but now you are getting some big team looking desperate for points as they face more difficult challenges than in the old format.
Still think a lot has to do with the luck of the draw. And I’m guessing you can draw someone on the 1st knock out stage that you’ve already played which is a bit boring and something the old format prohibited.
Ciry have Juve and PSG away still, also desperate for points. With Brugge at home last they should make the playoffs but that’s 2 more games to shoehorn in I think February.

28th November 2024 at 3:14 pm #216610For me, still the same as it was at the start of the season… last nights game between Pool & Madrid I think was the first non-Spud game I’ve watched in Europe and I my evening wasn’t planned around it, it just happened to be on and I have nothing else left to do…
As with all tourney’s, unless it’s your team involved (so either Spuds or Engerland), neutral games aren’t interesting to me unless I know one team is “going home” at the end of it.
There might be some games in week 7 or 8 that might have that “angle” to it, and then it would have to be a “big-team” at risk to get my juices flowing… and I doubt there will be more than one or two of those games during the “league” phase of this.
As for the knock-outs, I’m fairly sure I read that rules does apply, i.e. no team you’ve already played or from the same country in the last 16… have no idea how they will implement it, mind you…. 🙂

28th November 2024 at 9:58 pm #2166122-2 was fair, disappointed to concede so late, but it was a game that could have finished 5-4 to either side, with neither side complaining… 3 disallowed goals, three crossbars that I can remember, and some woeful finishing from both sides when it might have been easier to score…

28th November 2024 at 10:21 pm #216613Yeah, only really caught the tail end and seen Forster pull off a really vital save only for the equalizer moments late. Real shame and feel for Spurs.

12th December 2024 at 2:10 pm #216760Glad slot called out how open we were v girona. We haven’t looked as solid in recent away games.6 wins from 6 is excellent though with one goal is conceded

12th December 2024 at 7:10 pm #216762Considering injuries etc… that’s quite a strong Spud line-up… except for CB’s and Goalie…
