Stupid, Nil… (the format, not you! 😉 )
Read somewhere, that in order to qualify for the knock-out rounds, a team only needs 2 wins and 1 draw from their 8 games to 100% gaurantee going through… and it could even be less depending on results.
Of course, the higher up the table the “easier” your route through the knock-outs…but I really can’t see any neutral getting even remotely excited about games that don’t involve their own club.
The only exciting games will be the last round and involve the sides that are at risk of being knocked out… and they don’t happen until February or something…
More games, more money, happier beancounters in the backroom… that’s all it is.

It’s probably to appease the clubs who wanted more games in the european super league. Certainly a change for money and not quality. Far too many non-event games.

Chucks, I came across the exact thing! I think it was either via Tv or Radio re that particular permutation to qualify.
Lots of strands of thoughts; the obvious one being money talks. I don’t know the exact figure, but reportedly, Villa have upped their pricing on CL. This sums up the thought of commerce and business opportunities and calibrates with Alisson’s own thoughts.
It’s great for the passing fan or one of which wanting entertainment and liking football for football without any allegiance. Those ridiculous achievements collectively accomplished by both Man City and Liverpool in not only competing and upholding participating in multi-competitions, but winning these trophies as well as PL Titles and other domestic trophies spells undoubtedly 2 things:
1 – The Best 11
2 – The Best Squad DepthArsenal I believe at Present are up there. Lots of strands surrounding money we can’t as fans control, but a point raised by Allison is the possible effects being involved in game after game that can lead to of course tiredness and underperforming.
Are we always getting the best versions of them each and every game?

It once again takes me back and appreciate how good of a player and performer Sadio Mane was, and the main man, along with a probably then, a World Class Front 3.

The only vaguely interesting aspect which might come out of it is the squad rotation… obviously the “rule” about your best 11 is now ignored with managers resting players all over the place, and I’m sure that would cause an upset or two in certain individual games (I certainly can’t see Real Madrid failing to qualify, can you?)… of course, that could also come back and bite the TV ratings in the Arsenal when fans realize they’re watching in effect, reserve games…
Still, even us Spuds have to won some of these, right? 🙂

I’m hoping this will follow suit with the FA Cup. I’m noticing this season, games are dotted around alternate days and weeks rather than a ‘uniform’ which I think will ease the pressure a little bit managing multiple competitions.
The challenge whatever takes place on the training ground needs to be implemented on the pitch which isn’t easy and can take time to find your way. Squad is going to be vital, so if a player doesn’t always start, he stood really take the right attitude because his chance will come sooner or later.
