Exactly Ed. That was absolutely piss poor. Terrible passing and final ball. We have no belief and are so slow in everything we do. It’s just dreadful. Doesn’t matter who we are playing. We are miles behind at the moment. It’s horrendous to watch.

15th March 2023 at 10:00 pm #205405Where’s that side who hammered us though Sean? Clearly this side are capable when they decide to turn up. Clearly the quality is there but they just seem to lack desire in most of their games.

15th March 2023 at 10:52 pm #205409Ed, I’m afraid you take away either the Anfield crowd or the press, and we lose a lot of our edge. Reading about Klopps time at Dortmund and early time at Liverpool, it was all about the press. Winning the ball high up and forcing mistakes. In fact, in the early training sessions at Liverpool, the players got *too* committed and started flying in with challenges and Klopp had to calm some of them down. But over the years we transitioned into more of a patient possession team with the occasional maybe more intelligent pressing at the right time. For the times we are more of a possession team, maybe away from home, I do think the loss of Mané has been significant because his pace really stretched the opposition. Our lack of control/pace in midfield also a problem.

16th March 2023 at 5:20 am #205410Only watched the first 20 minutes then my stream died and with a 03:20 (uk time) alarm call for work I thought sod this! Seems it was the right decision.
We can play quick good football with the team pressing and high intensity. We just only done it this season on the odd occasion and only at home. The Anfield crowd obviously helps but I still think this is a decision made on the training pitch maybe to conserve energy in old legs. Certain players now do not suit the high intensity game either which will also influence this.
Having said that they knew what was needed last night and you’d think they go for it from the off. If Nunez took that early chance who knows maybe they would have. But seeing a 4231 and a midfield of Fabinho and Milner I knew we’d be in for a evening of slow ponderous play and reading online comments and reports it seems it was.

16th March 2023 at 7:14 am #205412Watched the first half (which was quite entertaining for the neutral!) but it was obvious RM were going to score at least 1 at some stage, certainly the better team on the night in the first 45 (although Pool did have some chances!)… so I went to bed… 🙂

16th March 2023 at 7:50 am #205413Klopp rightly getting hammered for telling Liverpool fans after last season’s final to “book the hotel” for this year’s final. Really arrogant thing to say and it’s no surprise he kept his mouth shut on that front after yesterday. Time to rebuild in the summer and go again.

17th March 2023 at 11:26 am #205449Some good ties there. Probably as tough as Chelsea and City could have had with the possible exception of Napoli. Napoli should be making the final on their side. I’d suspect it will be a Napoli-City final but I don’t think you can look past any of the sides on Chelsea/City’s side of the draw
