Ed @ 7:51, had that same thought myself on Giroud.
There’s no actual Strikers on the pitch to meet crosses or make deep runs and be part of build up play.
It’s just one big mess.

19th April 2023 at 10:50 am #206398I was talking about Giroud to a lad at the bridge watching us lose to Brighton. We would have both loved to have had him still. Probably would have won a few more of those long balls than sterling did 🤣

19th April 2023 at 10:58 am #206399Would it be fair to say that most of the outright US owned clubs in the premier league have generally been poor? I think a problem is they apply their own game to the premier league and expect similar results.

19th April 2023 at 11:56 am #206400Ye good point Ed. I don’t think we will see city have a severe dip especially under pep. Liverpool, utd and Chelsea have all had dreadful seasons over the years.
I really don’t think arsenal will challenge next year. This season was huge opportunity for them
I also don’t buy they bottled it. Your up againest Man City. A team that could still get over 90 points agsin. It’s just so difficult to compete with city
Arsenal we’re always going to drop points. City just get mad runs together
I’ll be astonished if city don’t win it and I think they will beat Arsenal quite easily on a few weeks

19th April 2023 at 12:32 pm #206402I’m absolutely convinced that all American owners have one eye on converting the overall sports model in the UK to the same as it is in the states… i.e., not promotion/relegation, salary caps, clubs owning their own TV rights etc….
American “franchises” are all about making a profit first, success second… even the worst teams in the their respective leagues make a substaintial profit year after year after year…
I think the notion that they are simply custodians of a local institutions which have been around for as nearly as long as ‘Merica has is completely lost on them!
(Although Deadpool & Co’ are seemingly bucking that trend I think, I do get the impression they’re really “into it”…)

19th April 2023 at 12:34 pm #206403As for the Goonies, they’re going a bit Spursy right now!! Lose next week I think they’ll be in big trouble mentally… I think the 64 million dollar question is whether Micky Eyebrows tweaks his team and maybe goes a bit more for the draw…

19th April 2023 at 12:51 pm #206404And I almost forgot, big congrats to the mighty O’s (and I do not mean the Baltimore Orioles!) for winning promotion to League 1… I guess we’ll have to wait another year to see Deadpool in E10!

19th April 2023 at 5:12 pm #206406Just reading that chelsea’s new players don’t just have clauses for pay rises based on club performance, they also get decrease the other way of 30-50%.
Play like mid table get paid like mid table! I’m all for it don’t care if players are upset they agreed terms and played like shit._____________________________

19th April 2023 at 5:24 pm #206407Absolutely Lucky, any other walk of life, if you stopped performing, you’d probably lose your job let alone get your wages docked. Why should it be different for footballers?

19th April 2023 at 8:25 pm #206408Well done with the Red Card removal. That would essentially have ruined the tie and any competition Bayern are to offer.

19th April 2023 at 8:58 pm #206410Needed really ‘A’ goal in the first half. 3 goals will be too much of a tall order, and a shame because Bayern has really been up for it so far Tonight.
I’m liking the Refereeing of International; no fence sitting, professional and not hesitant in the ability to hand out a card.
There’s more efficiency than faffing around in what we see in the Prem.

20th April 2023 at 11:16 am #206418It really is unfortunate that City and Real cannot be paired up in the final. It would have been a sensational spectacle for sure. They are the best two sides by a country mile of what remains. Whichever team from Milan earns the right to play in the final is simply making up the numbers and will likely turn it into a bore-a- thon to try and keep the scoreline respectable and at the same time take it to penalties. I hope there is an early goal in the final to force whichever Milan team to have a go.

20th April 2023 at 7:59 pm #206426Wow, I didn’t even know the draw had already taken place.
The first tie is at the Bernabeu so if anything, could be telling in how the entire tie shapes.
