Not looking forward to this at all… going to Milan with a midfield that is very likely to consist of Wee Skippy and this Sarr fella… not encouraging at all… bite your bloody hand off for a 0-0 now and see who’s around for the return leg…
All together now:
The wheels on the bus are falling off, falling off_____________________________

13th February 2023 at 10:10 am #204255Whoever progresses in the CL in this round from the PL the only one with a real chance of going all the way is probably City without Liverpool find some of last seasons form.

13th February 2023 at 10:19 am #204256Hard to disagree that Innocent FC are the Prem’s best chance to win it all… especilly now it looks like Grealish has finally “found his feet”! π

13th February 2023 at 10:28 am #204259Both Liverpool and Chelsea are dangerous now in this competition for the other sides as they can (and probably need to) throw absolutely everything at the CL as they’re unlikely to get CL for next season through their league position. I don’t think there are any great sides bar maybe Bayern and Napoli in the other leagues at the moment and none of the PL sides have got them.
Somehow Utd have managed to draw a harder side in a inferior competition than any of the English sides in the CL which is a bit frustrating albeit we’re not under huge pressure to win the EL as in previous seasons due to a better league standing.

13th February 2023 at 12:08 pm #204260You’re right Ed both Chelsea and Liverpool are drinking in the CL last chance Saloon problem is though Chelsea can’t score goals and Liverpool based on their last few games are way off from where they were last season.

13th February 2023 at 12:40 pm #204261Yeah definitely Nine. Things were certainly looking brighter for Chelsea at the weekend against West Ham though. Also worth noting both Chelsea’s CL wins have come in seasons like this one, where they’re faltering in the league and have new managers with new ideas. A Chelsea-Liverpool final for a place in next year’s CL (assuming both finish outside the top 4) would be incredible for the neutral.

14th February 2023 at 7:06 pm #204317Teams are in, and we’re pretty much lining up as I would expect, considering…
Still take a 0-0 if it was offered…

14th February 2023 at 8:36 pm #204320Sitting in the pub watching 3 different games, the Milan v Spurs game, the PSG v Bayern game and by far the most entertaining of the 3 the Burnley v Watford game.

14th February 2023 at 8:54 pm #204321Thought we the better team that half, if I’m honest, certainly seemed we spent more time down their end than they did ours and their goalie had more to do. Skippy and Sarr certainly haven’t embaressed themselves, Royal has been pretty decent (again!), Son is having a “better” day than usual (still a lot of room for improvement!)… kinda fancy us to score at least one before the night is over… (and a sneaky red card for someone, been some “interesting” challenges)

14th February 2023 at 10:01 pm #204322I just read somewhere that Conte hasn’t won a CL knockout game since 2013. That’s criminal for someone who has managed the teams he has.

14th February 2023 at 10:01 pm #204323There we go… hoping for a 0-0, expecting a lot worse, can’t decide if we were good or Milan are were bad. Big shout to Skippy and Sarr in midfield, held their own.
It ain’t over yet!

16th February 2023 at 12:11 pm #204395Completely agree with Carragher here. No way can Real Madrid, Barcelona and Co be moaning about inequality after we’ve had years and years of seeing our best players poached by them two. Having the PL distribute money to the rest of European leagues to make it more even has to be up there with the most ridiculous suggestions. Clubs like the two big Spanish clubs have had it all their way for years because of greed. That they now want a piece of the PL pie is laughable. I hope the PL clubs tell that lot where to go when they come knocking about the Super League.
@Carra23 is spot on just because the money is drying up in La Liga and the brand is failing itβs the Premier Leagues duty to share money across Europe but when they were buying Ronaldo x 2, Figo and Zidane what did they do for the rest of europe? Hypocrisy. @GuillemBalague pic.twitter.com/Feb5GZnR0q

16th February 2023 at 7:48 pm #204400Proper end to end stuff at the Nou Camp. Utd probably unfortunate to only come away with a point in the end. Great match and sets up a big one for next Thursday. Seems way too early for one of these sides to go out on tonight’s evidence. Could have easily been a final.
