Chucky, the point was Liverpool knocked Chelsea out of the CL in 2005 despite finishing 37 points behind them.

Spurs finished 27 points behind Liverpool this season based on that Liverpool will win but just as in 2005 it doesn’t always work out like that.

That can be related to as Far as the example of the FA Cup goes.

Like for example Wimbledon in 1988.

Don’t kid ourselves that Spurs are that. The Wheels unfortunately fell off for them as far as their League Campaign went.

But they have done extremely well to reach this Final. This is no Gimmee.

My own reasons to be vivid with what I feel to be key Stats/Facts is because this particular season as far as an LFC Perspective matters, this is profound.

I’ve never seen this in all of my years when Liverpool won League Titles back in the 80s, and for every challenge upheld 2 to 3 decades on.

Nothing is set in stone, but this is from my point view something to be proud and hold on to – yes, lost only 1. Did any team achieve that? No.

This is something ultimately to be proud of. KEEPSAKE.

Nil, if the point you were trying to make was that no one is likely to finish 2nd in the PL with just one defeat and not win it I think you’re right but I’m not sure what that’s got to do with tonight’s CL Final.

The point I was trying to make to Chucky was that Liverpool knocked Chelsea out of the CL in 2005 although they finished 37 points behind Chelsea in the PL that season indeed only last season Liverpool knocked City out of the CL although they finished 25 points behind them in the PL.

Based on the PL this season Spurs look to have little chance but as the above two examples demonstrate it doesn’t always work out like that.

I think it will be a great game if I had to pick a winner now I would pick Liverpool but in a one off game the sides imo are fairly evenly matched so you just never know.

Mr. Balance, each season is different, 2018-2019 was a two horse race, which in racing terms went down to a photo finish. It’s pointless banging on about only losing 1 game, points make prizes and that’s why the 3 points for a win was brought in, to encourage teams to go for the win and not settle for a draw.
As I’ve said before, a team could go the whole season unbeaten, be the next invincibles and yet still be relegated, West Ham were relegated on 42 points.
Tonight’s match is a one off, both teams momentum has slowed since the final week of the league, tonight will all be about who wants it most, which players are in holiday mode etc.
Enjoy the night, but remember win or lose it’s only a game of football, be gracious in both victory or defeat……Pagan

Chuckles, the thing is if Spurs lose you won’t bang on that the whole world is against you, you’ll disappear, lick your wounds and come back as the Chuckles we know and love. I probably won’t watch the game, and although it doesn’t bother me particularly who wins I would like to see Spurs win, go the underdog and all that. Enjoy the day Chuckles….Pagan

Chucky, Spurs have come back from the dead in the CL several times this season there’s a fighting spirit there and Spurs deserve it as much as Liverpool based on this seasons CL.
