2nd June 2019 at 4:03 pm #42099Kudos to the Local Council in getting a Parade organised at such short notice.
The town centre judging by photos in the papers was trashed with litter. Sometimes, fans need to take responsibility as far as their community goes and need to be more thoughtful and show a bit more respect.

2nd June 2019 at 5:49 pm #42103I am really pleased for the Liverpool fans on here and comiserations to Spurs boys.
However, even before your parade we get the usual threats and warnings about next season from Liverpool players and of course the shite Echo.
Why not just enjoy the moment and the day and button up the macho talk. Next season is next season. Maybe Liverpool get key players injured for most of the season. Maybe our top players lose form etc etc. Warnings and threats show a complex which isnt needed.Enjoy the day!

2nd June 2019 at 6:16 pm #42104Adlab,
First of all, many thanks for the Congrats and greatly appreciated. I followed the course of events last night largely on BT Sport and thereafter switched to Talksport, but that was getting a little bit silly and Rowdy, so went to 5 Live, and back to BT Sport.
There wasn’t that much of after coverage as I’d have liked – think I got to bed about 1-2, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t catch any words from players of those sentiments you’ve described.
My only reckoning is something I can allude to from a Snooker POV: An example that players like Stephen Hendry and Ronnie had within them to enjoy the celebrations, but quick to resume back on the circuit board to strive for more success.
Many individuals Sportspersons and Professional Teams build themselves up that way. I would say the same for Roger Federer. That’s why they are able to put together years of success. It was probably the same for Liverpool in the 1980s.
Take your own Man City for example in winning 3 Domestic Trophies; that’s a big chunk down to Pep in what he’s drilled into the players as they are already thinking ahead.
It’s the same for my own work place after Saturday – nobody cares that much as it’s own to trying to deliver the next set of Targets set by the Regional Manager.

2nd June 2019 at 10:09 pm #42108Evening everyone. Now the madness is settling.
What a fantastic few days. I flew out to Madrid on Thursday with my 20 yr old son. He wanted to experience the fanzones. We went with friends who had match tickets.
Great atmosphere and great fun, with such good banter and mixing with the spurs lads.
I left Madrid lunchtime Saturday to fly home and watch the match with my father as I’m not sure I’ll get the chance again. 4 magical moments.
– when I gave the ticket he didn’t know I had to my son. He actually wanted to come too so he could be with grandad, but I wanted him to go.
– the fun and mixing with the spurs fans, and enjoying them enjoying the event.
– watching the game with my father, and celebrating the win.
– seeing Jordan Henderson lift the trophy and hugging his own father.Commiserations to spurs and the lads on here. I actually thought you were the better side, but we’ve now got that ability to grind out a result and win when we are not the better side.
I sat on my own afterwards and think I had something in my eye!!. There are things greater and more important than football, but it’s a great enabler of fabulous memories.
Best wishes to you all, and your families – I’m going to raise a glass to the end of this season and good luck to all for next season.

3rd June 2019 at 1:25 am #42111AnonymousAdlab, I don’t think you should be focusing on the lads making statements of intent on next season. It also doesn’t show any kind of complex either. I’m not sure what else you would expect to hear after such a crazy PL race.
There will be no videos posted with our players singing disgusting songs about your club. So, I’m just kinda surprised about your comment.
Let’s write it off to rivalry though. Maybe only natural after such a pitched battle but our 2 teams won a massive trophy each. You lads did the domestic treble but it’s kinda a shame that spurs didn’t get in there with one. There’s been a lot of talk about what teams deserved what… that spurs side deserved something.

3rd June 2019 at 8:08 am #42116I can’t see anything wrong with the Liverpool players stating they want to win the PL title next season.
That’s the one to win, Liverpool went so close this season and it’s the Club’s holy grail especially as next season it will be 30 years since they last won it so it’s bound to be their No 1 target.

3rd June 2019 at 9:35 am #42119Adlab I seen a hell of a lot of interviews etc & the closest I seen to what you said was we really want to win the EPL & will aim for that next season. No “macho” stuff what so ever & I certainly wouldn’t be bragging about next season in any case as my early tip is c$ty will buy more players & will win it again.
I get what you mean about cocky loud mouthed players though, like those classy players singing songs about a fan that nearly died & other terrible events after just winning the EPL, you’d think they’d just celebrate winning & sing a victory song wouldn’t you. They will have to change one of their songs though cause Mo Salah hasn’t won f all, he’s just won ol big ears ?.
As for next season your right, the sheikh might get sick of his plaything & sell up, FSG might pull the plug & we get another Tom & Jerry, Newcastle might get taken over & they go well, spurs might finally spend up & push c$ty all the way, hell manu could spend big & improve (we both hope that doesn’t happen). Who knows, I’ll just enjoy winning no 6 & worry about that in August._____________________________
