Gomez looks a million miles from the player he was this time last year.

28th November 2019 at 9:16 am #54667HH, it happens with young players after a big injury, at least you have seen the level he CAN get to so giving the lad time is far easier, its not like he is a Phil JOnes type charachter! 😉

28th November 2019 at 9:45 am #54675In Chelsea’s Group if both last day group matches were drawn (not that I expect that) is it Valencia that go through on a countback due to their 1-0 win at the Bridge?

28th November 2019 at 12:33 pm #54690Yep 67 lets hope that doesn’t happen.
On the plus side if it happened we could defend our Europa League trophy!?

29th November 2019 at 8:10 am #54725Poor results for both Arsenal and United but both are still likely to qualify for the Round of 32.

29th November 2019 at 9:30 am #54739Stevo, the nice Mourinho is always there in the early stages of any of his tenures he has always got very grumpy and starts hitting out when things aren’t going his way. Plenty of time for that to happen yet. 🙂

29th November 2019 at 9:55 am #54741Anyone watch the Arsenal game on BT Sport last night?
its reall wird, the Frankfurt mnagers name is …ADOLPH Hutter and always called Adi Hutter, it was weird because on text its shown right but spoken differently…obviously i can see why that might be but then why call your kid by that first name anyway!

29th November 2019 at 10:05 am #54742Anonymous“i think you have enough cover in MF HH, not ideal to ever lose a player to injury but of the two youd pick him every time!”
Over Van Dijk, yes, I think most fans would but in my opinion, he’s our 3rd most important player. Van Dijk, Mane, Fabinho.
I know it’ll be Gini who takes over the role but perhaps the option of having Trent or Gomez fill in there and not lose Gini in his more influential position.
I missed most of this match because I was just super tired and I eventually fell asleep in the chair haha, so I can’t give much of an opinion on the match itself but judging by the reactions (football related anyway), it seems like we have some of the same problems.
For one, this business of us playing players who are clearly carrying injuries has got to stop. The fact that the likes of Shaqiri or Lallana etc don’t have the fitness to come in and do a job is because Klopp hasn’t given them minutes.
As for the actual midfield. The “identity” that Fabinho has given our midfield, or individuality, if that term suits better is going to be gone now. It’s going to go back to a flat, industrious trio and I am a big big fan of Milner but I don’t think the non-Liverpool lads full appreciate what a loss Fabinho is going to be to us.
I will say though that maybe it’s time that Klopp went back into the market. Oxlade is a good player but is he the all round midfielder? Klopp doesn’t seem to think so, as he almost never plays him. Lallana is clearly not rated by Klopp anymore and gets even less time than Oxlade. Shaqiri, similar story and I think we’ll be seeing the back of him soon. This is regrettable for me because he was a big part of the 4-0 win over Barca. He turned up when called upon but I guess he doesn’t play the way Klopp wants and that is a death sentence to any player under most managers. Then then is Keita, who for me, sorry lads, is a failed signing. We are going to lose MILLIONS on this guy. I know people might feel the need to press me about this, I’m not interested in a long discussion but I’ve written him off. That’s just my opinion, you’re welcome to yours.
So how many of our midfielders have a strong future at this club? I just don’t think we’re good enough here. We can rightly or wrongly read between the lines in terms of team selections to work out what players Klopp rates and even the ones he does, are in my opinion not performing to a high enough standard in certain departments. We’re down 1 player in there now and I’m worried… that should never be the case.
Hopefully we’re only down Fabinho for a short time and to be clear, I’m not talking about signing someone to replace him. I’m talking about the other positions, well actually probably just 1 position that we have several people “competing” for.
There are players that I rate but Klopp doesnt and there are players that I don’t rate so highly… I maybe it’s time to move a few of them on and get in 1 really top player in January. Of course we might not move anyone on until the summer but you guys get me.
Now, just a quick word on the nonsense in this thread. Nil, you need to realise that it’s posts where you talk about hating a club or a manager, or the ones where you think that only Liverpool are having bad tackles put on them and such nonsense… It’s these posts that get peoples backs up, hence Pagans unpleasant word in your direction.
Be absolutely clear on this because Pagan wouldn’t have said that if you weren’t being a bit of a princess. if you find this offensive, it’s not my intention but you’ve got to digest the process that keeps repeating , or it will repeat more and more.
I don’t like reading about all the things you hate Nil. I have enough problems in my life. yesterday I had an incident in my apartment. Myself and another lad downstairs stopped a guy from raping a girl. These are real problems, not this silliness about your dislike of Ancelotti. Like, I imagine you dislike him because he’s one of the best managers ever and won a CL title against us.
Nil, sort your shit out though please chum and get back to being a solid poster. I say this with kindness, friendship.. whatever words you want to apply because I’m definitely not having a go but ya… get back to having fewer incidents.

29th November 2019 at 11:00 am #54754AnonymousNah we didn’t kick the shit out of him. I mean, the entire situation was strange and I wasn’t 100% sure he was literally raping her but, well ok, I will tell you the incident and there is one thing in it that makes me pretty sure that it was heading towards rape, we’ll say.
Thursday is rent day here. The landlord is old fashioned and he sends his son around every week for the rent. They won’t do banks but anyway, it’s getting close enough to when they might call 18:30 to 19:45 is the usual window. and it’s 6Pm , there are a few people across the hall who are drunk and singing. some of the others dont like this shit but as long as it stays at this I’m ok. What was odd is the timing. Acting like this right when the landlord is coming soon? Just odd
Now it’s worth noting that I share a wall with the other apartments shared bathroom. the walls here are thin and we can hear everything that goes on in this whole house.
So, I’m sitting down eating before I gotta clean and things out in the hall take a turn for the worst. I didnt hear any arguing. but suddenly there were some kinda banging noises, like there was a scuffle or struggle etc. Now, I could hear already that it was like a gf and bf or something like this, in the hall and my guess is she went to go to the toilet, he follwoed her in and decided it was time for some fun (speculation but judging from the sounds)… anyway this all happened quite quickly now, even if I’;m not writing it that way but the next thing is there is a LOUD bang and my guess is this is him knocking her to the floor and she instantly screams STOP! STOP!!
I jumped outside anyway and look into the toilet and there’s the dude and the girl is kinda half down on the ground and he’s got a hold of her.. was he pinning her down or picking her up? I couldn’t be sure but my guess is the former. I roared at him and at the same time , a lad from downstairs arrived behind me. I didn’t fly in like a super hero and kick the shit out of him. I roared at him to get the fuck out. He got the fuck off yer one. I just basically made sure I was between him and her as I checked on her and called the guards.
In the meantime the dude retreated to his buddies apartment. we barged in there and as I again informed the potential predator/abusive BF that he’s leaving now, the lad from downstairs was violently shaking the guy who actually lives there, who was either passed out drunk, or pretending to be asleep… LOL I know but the guy from downstairs was roaring “COME ON MAN, YOU’RE NOT REALLY PRETENDING TO HAVE SLEPT THROUGH THIS!!!”… but it was after this that he realised that yer man was SMASHED drunk, like unable to think drunk.
So, we got the dude outside without any violence. I mean, he looked like he could handle himself but he wouldnt even look me in the eye. The girl was in bits but was still trying to communciate with the dude and no matter how we tried, we could not convince her to stay behind. her excuse was that she had no lift home. we said we’d sort a cab for her.. nope. in the end she just says to us “will you please let me leave?” … I mean, at this stage you have to. you cant hold someone against their will, no matter how ****ing stupid they are.
as the police were apparently on their way, we tracked the pair down the road and they eventually went into an off license. its then that the lad from downstairs asked me the time. the clever bastard. he wanted the exact time for the CCTV to at least ID him, if she wanted to press charges… but I would bet money that she wouldn’t want to.
She’s a lucky girl that this was a lived in building but it was very frustrating that she wanted to go with this fucker.
anyway the guards came 30 or so mins later. I told thme that it’s my intuiition that this wouold have been a sexual assault judging by the lack of an argument.. oh ya, and also the guy laughed as the scuffling noises initially started. then the loud bang and her shouting.. this happened in the space of maybe 5 seconds…
Sorry if this is written really poorly but there you have it.
I know it’s not an exciting story. I could have dressed it up a bit and say how I threw on my cape and beat up the guy, threw him down the stairs etc but I won’t turn to violence unless someone hits me first. If it were a case of me seeing him actually in the act of raping her, then sure, then I’d likely have gone absolutely batshit nuts but I couldnt be 100% sure of what was going on. I’m not much a fighter but if required, I definitely will.
Well , that is the second time I’ve intervened on a woman being possibly sexually assault, or that process being initiated, anyway.
